Do not use this practice. They are slow, poorly organized, not responsive to parental questions and concerns, Dr Min is arrogant and believes he knows better than the family about all matters. He is lazy and does not contact specialists. Does not do any coordination of care. Cannot manage care beyond colds and the flu. Is a huge vaccine pusher even when my son didn't need any further meningitis vaccines he was pushing for boosters. Do NOT trust them to tell you any vaccine schedule. You must watch this yourself. They even tired to push more vaccines to my child solo when under 18. we has a horrible experience w Dr Min and the entire office practice. We have left along with many other families who are fed up. read more

NAPS, Baby411, etc all say you should love your pediatrician. This felt unrealistic to our family who has moved several practices until we met Dr. Min. Dr. Min is a legend in our household, which is mostly medical professionals. He's earned our trust time and time again, not just because of his stellar credentials but because of his clear expertise and bedside manner. First, he is so present. He's usually on time, even though he spends as much time as you need with him. Dr. Min's hygiene practices surpass any practitioner we've encountered (this matters so much for babies). He's exceptionally thorough in his examination, and is always patient with our dozens of questions. Most of all, he makes the adults and most importantly the child being seen feel comfortable by being a kind, approachable human being. Dr. Min is also unique for what he does at wellness visits. He sets expectations for child development until you see him again. He shares tips about how to approach your growing baby/toddler and balanced perspective on parenting through changes. In between visits, he's very responsive and timely on Lamorinda Ped's portal. We never had an issue with getting an appt with him or one of the other docs at the practice. Dr. Min always remembers your family and we'll always appreciate the relationship we built with him. read more

I love all the doctors at this facility. Both my girls have been seeing the same doctor at this facility since they were born (10+ years). However, I am giving this practice a 2 star rating because this practice is way overbooked and have too many patients. Appointment lead times are ridculous! My daughter needs a wellness check as she is enrolling in a new school. The practice is booking out 5 months for a wellness check (30 min appt). Furthermore, I asked if she can see another doctor in the same office (some of which my daughter has seen in the past and have access to her full medical records with the practice) and they said no. They suggested I go to another practice if I needed the appointment within a month. This makes no sense at all. Lamorinda Pediatrics would rather we go to another practice than let her see another doctor in their office.... Makes no sense at all. read more

We are new to this practice but have had a phenomenal experience so far and can't recommend it enough to our friends. Dr. Kubalik is by far the best doctor we have ever worked with and continues to impress us with his dedication, knowledge, availability, and passion. Honestly, these people suck. And they do not care about your health. These are doctors who are probably just in it for the money, because after I tried calling ALL DAY for a simple prescription for pink eye they have done nothing helpful at all. My primary doctor here just retired so honestly I have no business ever coming back here, and I would recommend that you find somewhere else for your kids to be seen by a doctor. We love this practice and Dr. Farlow! Dr. Farlow goes above and beyond to help us navigate being new parents. She helps us understand our options, benefits and any risks, and her recommendations. We like that she integrates well studied, new research findings into her advice. The support staff is kind, excellent and efficient. NEVER put full trust of your health in your doctor's hands. Allow me to explain the atrocious negligence that occurred in the case of my health. About a week ago I met with Dr. Anderson about my health, after talking she gave me a form for blood work testing metabolic function (among other things). A few days ago I received a call from the office that informed me that the tests came back "normal". I accepted this information and only yesterday did I open the test results in the portal. While only one of the 17 tested items was highlighted as "out of normal range", I look at the other numbers and their "normal ranges" and realized that 6 out of the 17 were at the edge of "normal". I looked up and researched every single one and ALL OF THEM came back indicating the same thing: DECLINING KIDNEY FUNCTION. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! There are clear statistical indications that my kidneys are struggling and yet the audacity to tell me my blood work is NORMAL? Obviously there are many steps in preventative care that can be used to help improve and heal kidney function (ie: drinking more water, eating foods that support kidney function, decreasing substances that add strain to the kidneys), which I will be taking now, no thanks to my doctor. JUST IMAGINE: You take your sick child to the doctor, they receive blood work, which comes back "normal", you trust your doctor, like we were always taught to do. Months later you return with an even SICKER child, get blood work, and this time your doctor tells you, "your child's kidneys are FAILING". If only you had double checked the blood work and seen correlations that YOUR OWN DOCTOR FAILED TO NOTICE AND TELL YOU. You could have saved both you and your child so much stress, money, time, and rescue from permanent health problems if the issue was caught early, but now your child is dangerously ill. It is beyond clear to me that the charts and numbers were not actually looked at, only glanced at to see if anything was highlighted. ABSOLUTE NEGLIGENCE, with zero concern for preventative health measures. read more

We love Dr. Robbins! My two sons 5y and 3y have seen Dr. Robbins since they were born. He genuinely cares for their well being and provides thoughtful and timely parental tips. He absolutely helps ease first time parents with his calm confident demeanor and wealth of experience with children. On a side note: I wish it was easier to make/change appointments with the staff. Lamorinda Pediatrics is one of the best pediatrics that I've been too. Dr Andersen was great. She gets down to my kids eye level and speaks to them and sings to them. I've been around other pediatricians where they either spend 5 to 10 min and their gone in a flash. With my kids we never had issues and she was always there to answer our questions. Dr Andersen during one of our visits she was able to hear a faint sound in our 1yo and she said to be safe she referred us to a pediatric cardiologist. The cardiologist did some test and said she had a galloping heart beat. The cardiologist said it was very faint and he was very impressed that Dr Andersen was able to pick up that sound. He was very impress and said we had a good Doctor, we totally agree that Dr Andersen is awesome! Dr Andersen takes her time and goes over all the details, even ones that we don't pick up on. I can tell you that Dr Andersen, is one of the few Doctors out there that cares for her little patients and I can see that with every visit that we go to. read more

We moved to Lamorinda after my son was 4 months old and switched to this practice. We absolutely love it. Dr. Min is our primary pediatrician but we've seen a few other doctors and they've all been wonderful. We're first time parents and Dr. Min has been so patient with my neurotic questions and calls. We recently moved out of state and I was truly sorry that Drs. Kubalik and Herbert will no longer be treating my children. Both physicians, as well as all the others at Lamorinda Pediatrics, treated our children and family with the utmost respect and proved excellent care. Dr. Kubalik even came to the office one night to stitch my daughter's eyebrow because she was scared of going to the emergency room (and he did a great job!) The wait times at the office are minimal and they have clinic hours on the weekends. I can't recommend this practice enough! read more

If there were negative ratings system, this place would get it from me. My child was sick and tried to take him there. They won't see him in the clinic w/o a negative COVID 19 test, which was whatever. He got a negative test, he got a little better in a couple days and got sick again. They finally agreed to see him when he was 5 days sick already. They said he doesn't look so sick. Just give him Tylenol and he will be fine. Guess what he didn't. We took him to a different doc the same day he had Sever infection in his ears. How could they have missed this when they saw him in the clinic? Good thing we looked for a different doctor and he was put on antibiotics and he got better. Don't go to this place. The ratings are fake. read more

If you live in the Lamorinda area (Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda) Lamorinda Pediatrics is a fantastic option for your children's care! My boys have been with Dr. Michael Mallone for 16 years now. He is extremely patient with the little ones, and connects really well with kids. He has an easy going demeanor, an is always able to wrangle a smile out of the most nervous patient. Dr. Mallone was able to detect some very small problems early on, and provide us with expellent referrals. Their practice is open early in the morning for drop-ins. It's ALWAYS a zoo, so be prepared to endure lots of sick, screaming kids and frazzled moms. Appointments seem to always run about 30 minutes late, so bring a book and some ear plugs. read more

Ditto the commentary on rude staff who seems to look you over and be making some sort of judgemental determination. And, as a family with two Moms, having to fill out forms that ask about my "husband" or the child's "father" is annoying. Get with the program and modernize your forms to be more inclusive, please. We live in the Bay Area, not North Carolina. The doctor we saw was nice, but he's off in Africa now helping the children there anyway (we received a nice letter in the mail), and he didn't make up for the fact that the nurse administering a vax to my baby staunchly and, in a stern way, as though I were Oliver Twist asking for more porridge, refused to let me nurse the baby while she was getting her vaccine. This is just inexcusable, and it's completely contrary to how we'd always done vaccines at Bayside Oakland/Berkeley. Not to mention that the actual doctors give the vaccines at Bayside. We made one visit and, despite living in Lamorinda now, have decided to keep going to Bayside. read more

I couldn't recommend them enough. They are great with kids and each physician has taken the time to explain things to us so that we feel confident in the decisions we're making for our child. We have been seeing Dr.Min since our almost 3 year old was a newborn and have been very happy with our experience. We now have a new 9 month old and there is no one I trust more with the health of my boys. We have had a few incidents where we needed to get in on short notice or speak to a doctor asap and they have always been extremely accommodating. The office staff has done a great job of communicating and they offer a phenomenal Patient Portal that allows even easier communication with our primary doc or anyone who is available if he is out. The nursing staff is top notch and all of the doctors we've seen over the last 3 years have been great. We truly appreciate the care our kids have been given. Dr. Min is very knowledgable and has done a great job with easing our new parent fears(2 times over!) . As mom I appreciate his patience and how at ease our sons are with him. This Office has been in our family for years. My grandma was a pediatric nurse here from time to time. Her kids went here and saw dr. Malone! When I was born I too saw doctor malone as my brother and sister did too. Three generations later and I had my son... I knew who to call and watch over my beautiful son as he grows. Dr malone wasn't taking new patients, but Dr. Kublick was great and has been very helpful as I call with questions or concerns. He is very witty, has children and is comforting. Love this place! They always made hospital calls to Alta Bates where my soon was born. The only downside is your appointment time is never on time and they are not online for you to access records! But they are working on it. Parking is tight, but there is always street parking. The staff is fabulous and they always call you back if you leave a message and if you need to come in for whatever reason they will make it work. read more

The doctors are all fine. Nurses all seem kind and friendly to the kids. It's fairly easy to get an an appt. when your child is sick AND someone answers the phone, but the front staff are often horrendously inattentive and act too busy and harried. One must often leave messages since their office is just so busy. I've had problems getting quick responses on refills and on other more urgent matters. No acknowledgment or greeting when you first walk in. Several have their backs turned to the patients since they all seem to be taking calls. I can stand at the check in area, and not one person smiles, says "I'll be right with you" or says a word. I recently tried to get an appt for my child's yearly physical (they actually did call to remind me) but the earliest time was three months away! That's a ridiculous wait time. I've got 4 kids, have moved around quite a bit, and I've yet to ever receive a very personal, "welcome" feeling that I've experienced in many other practices by the staff. For now, since my children are older, I'll stick with them since it's just so inconvenient to switch at this stage, but I wish I had done better homework and perhaps went with a smaller, more personalized sort of practice. read more

This is a review for Dr. Francis only. I have a brand new teen - she just turned 13. We have some behavioral issues and Dr. Francis's treatment of me as the mother was appalling. She ignored and argued about a simple blood test requested by our counselor to eliminate any medical issues. She seemed to be putting more trust in my daughter's story of the facts than in what the school, the counselors and her parents are telling. When she says she will monitor the situation she then proceeds to ask my 13 year old to send her an email to tell her how she is doing in a month - seriously? That is how she is going to monitor the situation? Have a 13 year old send an email to tell her how she is doing? A 13 year old may look like an adult but she is a child - that is why we take her to a pediatrician. We are responsible for taking care of her - that responsibility is not something I am going to give to my daughter, particularly one who is showing signs of stress in dealing wtih the pressures on kids today. She needs to know that we (her parents, counselors, school, and doctors) will take care of her. Look, pediatricians are supposed to work with parents - not against them. Sure if parents are abusive or something I understand her dismissing their opinions and requests. But otherwise, pediatricians should be teaming with the parents and other caregivers to provide the best care possible - one more piece of a complex support system. Dr. Francis acted like she was trying to befriend my daughter while dismissing me - all while we were together in the room. Totally inappropriate. Additionally, she treated what is potentially a very significant behavioral issue with the following: "She says this behavior is not happening....if it is, time will tell because it will get worse. That is the thing about this behavior it gets worse with time so eventually we will all know. So nothing to do for now but wait and see." Wait and see until what? This woman should be avoided for teens - very bad (scary even) advice. Shame on her. read more

They don't care about you. I have an 11mo old child. The past 3 appointments they have made me wait 1+hours to see the doctor. 3X - 1 extra hour each. 11mo old. Practice is busy so they don't care, and the medicine is very traditional = not current. We've been extremely unhappy and are looking elsewhere - not that they care. read more

Wow avoid this place at all costs. So many better options in the East Bay. All we asked was for our child to meet the Dr and after spending 20 mins getting payment information, which was more than adequate, they refused. Was told the only way our child could meet the Dr was if he was sick or had a wellness appointment. Hmm ok. Great service!! Our last Dr who has since retired would meet us on a moments notice day or night Monday through Sunday. Hey Lamorinda pediatrics, there are much better options than you. read more

I have been going here for 21 years. The doctors are very good. BUT the office staff are TERRIBLE. The new front desk lady, the one with the accent (I don't know her name), is SO rude. I needed to reschedule an appointment and she practically yelled at me when I expressed disappointment that the next available appointment is two months out. I will have gone back to school out of state by then. Literally cannot even get an appointment to see my doctor. What good is it to be a patient of an excellent doctor's office if you can't even see a doctor on a reasonable time frame? Once you get in to the doctors office, expect to wait at least 30 minutes beyond your appointment time to actually see your doctor. But realistically, it's more like an hour. Personally I'd go somewhere else because all their problems aren't worth your money or time. read more

Let me start by saying that I'm an experienced parent who moved to the Bay area two years ago. We left a great practice in our old hometown and hoped to find a new one that might be its equal, here in uber-hip California. Lamorinda Pediatrics may be okay overall, but after two years of disappointing treatment, I won't be bringing my two kids back there. I think the front desk staff's attitude is a reflection of the doctors' they work for. Their front desk staff is hurried, somewhat disorganized, and unfriendly every time we've been there. We've seen Dr. Francis and Dr. Kubalik. Dr Francis seems competent, but grills the kids with a battery of invasive, remarkably personal questions that reflect her personal (and old fashioned imho) views on child rearing. Her questions went well beyond "check up." It felt weird and judgmental for her to do this to my son while I sat there. Makes you feel like your parenting is on trial somehow. Ick. Both doctors treat parents with this subtle air of suspicion that is extremely off-putting. It's hard to describe but you'll know what I mean if you see them. read more

We take our daughter to Lamorinda and they are just great! Dr. Kubalik is her primary doctor and he is very knowledgeable, friendly, and makes you feel at ease. She's also seen Dr. Francis during those sick call visits and she is also a good physician. Since she started daycare, my daughter has been getting sick more often and Lamorinda always seems to be able to accommodate us or answer our questions. They also have an easy to use website that you can get info about you child's illness and symptoms. We don't live in the lamorinda area but they are well worth the trip! read more

I agree regarding the comments about the sub-par office staff. The Doctor we see is good and helpful, but the nurse support is fair, and the office staff is horrible. On two occasions, they have answered the phone and hung up immiediately, another time, and different week, they answered the phone and put me on hold imiiediately w/out even saying hello. And I've twice been forgotten on hold. When at the office, the office staff's misery doesn't get any better. They all seem to dislike working there. I can't figure out if it is the result of overall poor quality hires, or the result of one super bad office member spoiling it for all. I am looking for a new Pediatrician due to the Lamorinda office personnel. read more

Angela S. nailed it. I am a father of 4 and both of my parents are retired RN's. My mother worked for two different small, private family practices and so I have met and been around quite a few Drs. growing up. The way my wife and I have been talked to by our Dr. at Lamorinda Pediatrics is unnacceptable. To be talked to in a condescending way, and made to feel bad about how we are feeding our child, should never happen in this setting. Never. There are bad parents out there, and we get that, however we are not. We love our child with all our hearts and to have my wife literally coming home in tears upset after a visit with Dr. Kubalik is really shameful. Word of advice to any parent considering this practice for your child....do more research. If your child happens to not be within some bar graph growth chart, be prepared to have it put in your face, and made to feel as if you're doing something wrong....i mean, my God, how did any of us kids born 40+ years ago survive?!?!!? No growth charts to damn the parents back then with. Guess we just got lucky to have made it without knowing where we landed on a chart. Though the Dr. may disagree, Noone knows their child better than a good Mother. Period. Not a Dr. And not a bar graph statistic. read more

Regardless of the admin staff which I don't really have many complaints about I love this practice. Our daughter goes to Herbert and Malone for our sons and I can say that I trust them with everything. Herbert is so positive and sweet with our daughter. Malone has so much patience and such a calm demeanor, key to a frantic momma when her baby is sick. Malone has been fabulous these last couple of weeks following up and listening intently to all my concerns. I cannot speak more highly of this practice. We have seen most of the doctors in there and spoken to others in the wee hours of the night. They are all great and really show they care for their patients and listen to the parents, even when we are a little paranoid! read more

This is a fantastic practice. They are caring, kind and very responsive. Their walk-in clinic from 8-9 is wonderful and not at all crowded; if I have a sick child, I never have to worry about whether I'll get an appointment the next day because of this wonderful clinic. It's never difficult to get an appointment, and I've never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes. They have close ties to Children's Hospital in Oakland, but even when we had to take our son to the E.R. out of town, the doctor on call stayed in close touch with the attending physician. We felt that this was above and beyond the call of duty, and we were in good hands the entire time. Our pediatrician is the wonderful Dr. Shimizu, but we saw many of the other doctors and they were all fantastic, took the time to connect with our children, and all showed genuine commitment to their overall well-being. We have never, ever felt rushed. Their staff is like a family, and they create a very warm environment for their patients. read more

I'm very happy with Lamorinda pediatrics. We see Dr. Min and have a 6 month old. Being first time parents, we feel he has been great. He is patient and understanding and sits to talk with us and never rushes us. He has always returned phone calls that day. The only negative is the office staff can be a little slow. However, the are friendly and helpful and we really like Dr. Min so we've just put up with the wait. Our last appointment the wait was not so long. read more

Can't say enough good things! I have three young sons and have consequently spent a fair amount of time at Lamorinda Pediatrics. Dr. Kubalik is our primary doctor and has patiently guided me through the mundane (minor stitches, ear infections, etc.) and the more complicated (asthma, growth issues and more). He always takes the time to return a phone call, answer my questions and provide common sense advice and reassurance when I need it most. While I love the practice as a whole, I feel especially lucky to have Dr. Kubalik caring for my kids! read more
