I ordered some gardening items for pick up from the Apple Valley Menards. I picked the up last…read morenight (Saturday) around 8 pm (they are open until 10 pm). After scanning my bar code to get into the pick up yard and parking in the first pick up spot, I walked into check in at the desk. Upon approaching the desk, I saw an employee in front of the desk, avoid eye contact with me, didn't say anything and turned and walked away from me. I assumed that he was not responsible for the check in desk so just wanted to avoid me. I could see another employee at another desk nearby. I ran the bell for service. The guy at the other desk came over and greeted me. He then pointed out that the first guy who didn't know acknowledge me in anyway, was not coming towards us with a cart filled with my order. I was very surprised by this but I suppose he got my info when I scanned into the yard and I was the only customer around. Curious to find out if this guy would ever make eye contact with me, I moved over to wear he pulled the cart with my stuff in it. He proceeded to print and hand me a receipt and stated that I had to give it to the gate attendant all without looking at me. He then pushed a button which opened a big door blocked from the inside with a fork lift. Without looking at me or the door, he told me I could exit out that door. I said, am I supposed to get out this door? He looked at the door blocked by the fork lift and said, "sorry," and opening another door. That door was mostly blocked by carts and some posts but I was able to squeeze through with my cart. I went out and loaded up my bags of potting soil one by one while my cart kept rolling as the area is not flat. Luckily the bags were fairly light so I was able to load them. This is night and day from my last pick up from this Menards. The employee who was working at the pick up desk Saturday, July 18th around 8-8:40 pm needs some major customer service training. I will try to get my items from a different store next time.

Most of their lighting is Patriot Brand and it is of very poor quality. They also carry many other subpar brands in other products. I appreciate their holiday Christmas tree display as my brother, who is special needs, loves to walk through it often. They also have great red mulch, regular and rubber. The regular red mulch is a brighter color than other stores. Staff are helpful.

I like that it's a hometown store feel, not like the big box stores where I can rarely find help. I'll always start at this store when I need something.

Lately, however, they seem to have improved in that category and are stocking better products. Or could it be that the competition has cut too many corners to where one can't tell what's good and what's not? Regardless of the above, the Pro desk does do a better job than Home Depot, which is directly accross the street from this Menards. Also, I don't know if I'm imagining this as well, but the staff at this Menards has improved in helping me find stuff that I'm searching for. All in all, Menards in general reminds me of hardware division of Walmart at times. However, they seem to finally becoming into their own.

The next four months I spent waiting, I just forgot the saw even existed and moved on with my life, sans chainsaw. No phone calls or updates on progress over the next 4 months. In case you missed that, IT WAS EIGHT MONTHS LATER! Finally, over 8 months later, I received a call from Rosemount Saw and Tool telling me, with zero inflection, that my saw was done. When I picked up my saw, which now looked like it had been drug behind a truck for a few laps around the 494/694 loop, I didn't get any apology or any acknowledgement of the fact that my NEW saw sat in their shop for over 8 MONTHS. There is no way I can stress this any more strongly, but literally any service shop would be better than this place. If you're looking for a local Husqvarna dealer, go literally anywhere else. Anywhere else.
