Why would a single Home Depot have 5+ Flock cameras in their own parking lot. Don't say security...there are plenty of private security cameras you could utilize without using one where the government has unlimited access for whatever reason they want. I will not be buying anything from businesses that allow Flock cameras to be installed on their premises. Menards is right down the road and they have lots more merchandise to offer. Several people in the department and Jasmine stepped up to help us as rug area disorganized and some not labeled. She was helpful, patient as we looked at rug after rug, lifting and moving them. We stop in here often as we have many home projects. Love the Behr paint and it has held up very well. Some of our rooms were painted 12 years ago and still look great. A long story, but I accidentally painted the top of the garage door and it dripped down. Didn't notice until next day and it wouldn't come off. Six years later we go to paint the garage doors and the drips are still there. Still wouldn't come off. Painted the doors and they are looking great 3 years later. At least I know the paint will stick. Staff can be hit or miss but most are helpful. The Halloween collection is great buy buy early as everything sells quick. I appreciate that they carry quality brands of products. They also have a great box elder bug spray but now only carry it online. read more

Have never been so ignored in a store. Was looking for floor tile. There were 2 employees in the area. Both were helping customers-we were never even acknowledged. One customer left and the employee just sat at a computer and didn't say I will be with you in a minute just finishing something up. Ordered a kitchen aid dishwasher in the apple valley mn store. They sent emails with tracking info, but never attempted to deliver it. We were home all day! Then rather than communicating any issues with us about it they, and nobody can say whom or why, canceled and refunded the charge. Customer care in the call center was completely useless and totally apathetic. She literally couldn't have cared less. Will never spend another cent at home depot. read more

This is the closest Home Depot to my home. Unfortunately the service in this store is much inferior to the nearby Burnsville location. If you try to go into the store within an hour of closing, it is a ghost town. There is a lot of room for improvement. I like the quality at Home Depot much better than Menards. The wood is worth the little extra. Home depot keeps the weather off of the lumber so there is minimal warping, cupping and twisting of the wooden planks or lumber. They seem to have a majority of what I need but they can search other store's inventory and tell you what store is carrying it. That is helpful but you need to track someone down for that. I will continue to use this store for the quality and location and not for the service. The last time I stopped there, there was a young girl going out of her way to help the self-checkout. I hope she rubs off on the others. read more

DO NOT USE THEIR INSTALL!!! I have used this HD for many things for years and had decent success with purchases. But I had them install 1100 sq ft of carpet when I remodeled my basement and now it is all pulling up. I had them check it for a restretch to fix the bubbling, but they said they could not do it because all the tacking strips were installed wrong (Not screwed down to the concrete, or even glued). So they want to charge me almost $900 to re-install the tacking strips and carpet, even though they screwed it up in the first place!!! THEIR INSTALLERS ARE HORRIBLE! Curbside closes at 6pm. They don't say on the website or anywhere else. Just on an email. Which is didn't receive. When I went in at 8, he immediately got an attitude. Saying the person who ordered it HAS to be the one to do it. Sir, I am coming in because my father can't. That's why we did curbside in the first place. We had no idea it closed at 6pm. Neither did the 3 other people ahead of us who left pissed off too. Also when we texted the number it just said unavailable. It never said why it was unavailable. So how would anyone know curbside pickup closes at a specific time when even the text alert doesn't say why. Poor website. All around terrible customer service. So come to this place if you want people giving you attitude and being very rude to you. This is covid-19 time. Nothing is going to be the way it was for awhile. So maybe thing before speaking. And realize some people get curbside for a reason. And maybe, just maybe tell people it closes at 6pm. It should be on the signs outside. On the door going in. It shouldn't be in an email buried deep where no one can see it. We drove 35 minutes for this. I will warn others not to come here. we bought 2 pathway low voltage lights at the Home Depot in Apple Valley and the clips that came with the lights that feed into the low voltage wire weren't strong enough to puncture the wire. we went back to get advice on what we could do and Jack, the guy that helped us was so polite and knowledgeable. he suggested a better way to wire them using waterproof gel connectors. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service in regards to removing an old appliance after purchasing a new one. We had a new stove delivered and were unable to release the old one because an insurance adjuster had to inspect it. We were assured there would be no problem having the old one removed. Two weeks later we called and set up a pickup date and time, within a four hour window. The movers did not call the night before as we were told so we called and after some fumbling around we were assured they would come and call before arrival. Sensing a problem I called this morning to reconfirm. Again, after fumbling around we were assured the stove would be picked up today between 8-12. At noon, no one has called and the stove has not been picked up. I'm now on hold going on 30 minutes while they try to figure out what is going on. THESE PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON. Never never again will I buy an appliance from Home Depot. I've always had good luck with my purchases at Home Depot including carpet installation and tool and supply purchases. Whoever is in charge of their appliance delivery and removal should be fired. Their system is irreparably broken. Still on hold 35 minutes.... Well, after an hour and a half the issue was kicked upstairs and the best they can do is to pick it up two weeks from now. Be forewarned. Do not expect delivery or removal service to go smoothly. read more

This review is for the rental department. I've rented a couple times now from this location and from my experience you better know how to work on the equipment you are renting because it is usually not in proper working condition upon receiving it. The first item was a concrete saw. The guy putting the blade on had no idea how it went on and asked a fellow coworker. So he reefed on the nut for what I thought was tight, but when I got home and within a minute of running it the nut flew off because he failed to get the locking key through the blade. Real fun with a diamond blade free wheeling at a couple thousand rpm. Also the water line and handle locking nut kept coming off, so I had to zip tie the water line on and temp fix the nut to it wouldn't come off anymore. I gave them another chance and rented the loader tractor/ backhoe combo. I got it home and off the ramp and tried to rev it up for more power. The throttle was stuck. So after going online and reviewing the operators manual to insure that I was indeed using the right lever as nothing on the machine indicated this, I took the access cover off which the quick nut was seized on. The throttle was seized up also, I put some sea foam creep on these so that they would actually work again. Once I got it running properly I come to find out the machine didn't have enough power to do what I needed. If you are looking to lift concrete this is not the machine for you. It would just pull itself closer to the hole when digging. I was going to use this machine for a day, but took it back after 2 hours with an actual hour of using it after research and fixing time. A $200 learning experience. read more

Today was the final straw for me and this Home Depot store. Two months ago I went to the store for a "quick" purchase of 15' of Romex and a couple other things. It took 1/2 hour to acquire the $25 of wire. First to go to the aisle and find it locked up. Second to find a floor person. Third for him to find another store person with a key. Then I had to be escorted up front like a criminal to make the purchase. Forget any other shopping I wanted to do. Home Depot needs to target the thieves and quit worrying that you may offend them. They are stealing and you know who they are. Customers are what keep the doors open. Then today I went in for a garden hose at 5:00pm 8-28-23. The aisle with summer stuff....hoses, grass seed, fertilize, sprinklers etc was closed off because they were painting the ceiling. So had to find a store person who had to call another store person to escort me in there because they didn't move the product out. The paint fumes were extreme and my clothes were covered in paint dust. DO BLDG MAINTENANCE AFTER HOURS! From now on my local Ace Hardware will be my first stop. read more

I made the mistake of purchasing a major appliance from this location. The customer experience was horrible. Unfortunately, when it was delivered we found out it was too large to get into my townhouse. The delivery person was friendly and explained that the store should be able to take care of a store credit and help apply a similar discount on a replacement appliance. When I went to the store they told me they would not issue a credit or exchange until the return-delivery was confirmed as "unopened" which would be at least 3 business days. That was fair enough but the way it was made for an awkward tension; it was accusatory in tone. The woman at the returns desk was very rude and said they had no way of knowing that this wasn't a case of me damaging the product. To add insult to injury they told me I would not receive any discount if a replacement appliance was again. When I asked for a manager I was told none were available. Anyhow, I have enough experience purchasing major appliances to know this was poor customer experience and unacceptable. Instead of doing the exchange at the Apple Valley location I decided to simply do a return. I purchased the appliance across the street at Menards. Since then I have always gone to the Eagan or Burnsville stores if I need something from Home Depot even though the Apple Valley location is basically in my back yard. Apple Valley residents would be better offer checking with Menards across the street (which always has great customer service) or the Home Depot locations in Eagan and Burnsville. read more

If it weren't for the quality Behr brand paint they sell, I would not ever step into a Home Depot (especially the Apple Valley location) again. The customer service is terrible! Most of the staff is very unwilling to help you find products or give you advice/tips on projects. Also, many of the male workers I've encountered have a disrespectful and machismo attitude toward female shoppers. TWO times I have had a male worker question my judgement on a product I've chosen... one flat out said, "No, thats the wrong paint type you need for this project" even though the professional I hired recommended the paint type (and it was correct). I ordered granite countertops on May 21st,paid in full and was told installing would be 6-8 weeks. The guy came and measured 6-27. I called back several times checking to see what was going on ,I was told my granite was in production being cut and my install date was 8-13. Original installing was supposed to be before 7-27 as I was going out of town and needed the work done before my guest came 8 -6. Three days before another install date of 8-30 received a phone call that my granite was sold to someone else and it had never been picked up and cut. Home Depot was rude,condescending and lacked any knowledge of an apology. I will NEVER purchase another thing from this store. Their customer service sucks and the installers are liars and lack the professionalism God gave a fly. Go elsewhere and pay a little more for ANYTHING before you give them your money. This place, and I'd say most Home Depot's I've visited lately, has really gone downhill in customer service. Now I'm not an idealist by any means or measure. However, I recall a time when one could walk into a Home Depot and you'd be assisted by a knowledgeable store rep and if that person couldn't help they'd find someone who could. If I'm not mistaken, it was part of their advertising hook as well. Well, I'm here to tell you, those days are long gone. All I wanted was a couple extra keys made, having talked to a cashier on the way in to flag someone over to the key making area. 10 minutes later and I'm still without my keys. Thing is, I hadn't seen any Home Depot rep in over seven of those ten minutes except the same cashier and one other. Really? $7000 for the wrong carpet. They said they would have it installed within two weeks, today is 5 weeks. We need carpet so we are stuck with it. The install crew pros all the way very nice and easy to work with. Went into the store to make sure our carpet was an equal quality was told to talk to Kip or Heather. Well there's nothing like being ignored and feeling like you were annoying people after ignoring me Heather finally got on the intercom and paged Kip because my two second question was too much for her to handle apparently. I hate being ignored especially when somebody sitting there and supposed to be doing their job we paid $7000 for their mess up only to be treated like crap by Heather And who ever the other lady was. I went to get a quart of black paint, the women said that she could match up the paint I needed, The next day I brought a sample of the paint I needed and the paint desk put it in the machine to match it up, I choose the middle priced paint, they said it take 5 minutes so I walked around the paint department, when I went to check out it was about double the price, so I went back to the paint department and they said they didn't have that brand in stock so they upgraded to a more expensive paint without advising me . I paid for it and went home the next day I applied my mixed black paint and it was a total different color, it was gray and In which brought in a Black sample. I made another trip to Home Depot and they would not refund me for there errors cause the paint was already mixed, the gentleman said he can try to add some black to it, when he finished he showed me the results and it was still gray I said that to him, and he said I'm sorry that's all he can do. I am very disappointed. Not only that i received the wrong color but was not informed that they upgraded to a more expensive paint, before mixing it now I have a mixed quart of paint that I can not use!! read more

When I ask why website says they are in stock, he looks. Subsequently tells me he can't find and says it would be a major undertaking to access them if he did find them. Malaise. Found and bought them across the street at Menards. Call me Karen, but I had the worst experience here. I was picking up a fire pit for my mother and I had her ID. I also had mine. When I showed a worker at customer service my ID, my Mothers, and gave her phone number to him he still wouldn't give me my order saying my ID was invalid. Poor customer service. I was injured and no one would help me. I attempted to pull one door closer off the hook in Aisle 12 and three to four other closers, and various other metal door parts came crashing down on my head and shoulders. It nearly knocked me to the floor. The impact, on either my head or the floor, caused every hard plastic package to crack open and spray metal parts several feet in every direction. It was a commotion to say the very least. I cursed loudly and said "I need help" twice, but got no assistance. Please don't take your young children to The Home Depot. I was lucky not to have my face sliced open by the falling closers because I had a baseball cap on that protected my face somewhat. I left the store crying holding or rubbing my head and no clerk even made eye contact with me. My advice for the store and their customers is to pay attention. read more

Second trip they tried to get us to pay for what we already bought and we were still missing items. Third trip, they called and said they had it but couldn't find it when we went in. This review is for the truck rental side of their business. Our family purchased a leather couch set from a Facebook garage sale site and needed a truck to pick it up. I googled Menards, U haul and Home Depot. For $19 you get a truck with flat bed to rent for 75 minutes. No stupid 59 cent a mile or 79 cent a mile fees. I looked up online and called this store and they had 3 trucks available. The truck is loud and was dirty inside, but I didn't care as we just needed it to pick up some couches. A large couch and loveseat fit perfectly. I had the truck around 70 minutes and topped it off with 1.5 gallons of gas. You show your drivers license, proof of car insurance and leave a $50 credit card deposit. I gave them my gas receipt as proof I topped it off or $6.50 a gallon is charged on your card. There is another small fee and tax of course. Upon return $27 was credited back to my card. Highly recommend to rent yourself and save delivery fees or the next time you see something special at Costco..To be continued. read more

Asked an employee if they could help me with a box fan. The website stated 59 items in stock, but the shelf was empty. 15 feet away in the cabinet / appliance area, I asked the lady for assistance. The first thing she said was "I'm really busy" ( my ass - it was a Monday night). After a slight sigh & eye roll, she asked me what I was looking for. I pointed to the shelf & showed her the fan on the Home Depot app. Her response was " oh those are still boxed up in the back" , and it was obvious she wasn't interested in helping me in anyway. When he finally got back his advice was " doesn't matter what you get" anything will work. I called the store to ask about their in-store stock after I had researched products, pricing and reviews online. I was put on hold for a couple minutes and the received the initial person that had put me on hold. She tried again and after about three minutes of waiting I was disconnected. So I decided to drive to the store to see if they had the Zircon wall stud sensor that received top reviews. Although listed as available on the web site, they were out of stock in the store. So I drove across the street to Menard's and they had what I needed. I generally do not have a desirable shopping experience at Home Depot. Today was an exception, but most visits results in needing to speak with an associate, and they can be hard to find or are busy with other customers. It seems the products that I need are usually out of stock (example - stud sensor), are manufacturer defective or have been discontinued. Two cases in point: 1) I purchased a 5 burner stainless steel Ducane brand gas grill ($1099 - 10%) from Home Depot. I was told at purchase time that replacement parts, as well as accessories are and will be available for this brand. Two months later I went to purchase additional accessories and nothing available for the Ducane brand. 2) I purchased $3900 (plus tax) in Pergo flooring and had it installed (for extra money). The flooring was defective. About 70% of the flooring pieces had an 1/4' indentation running the length of the joint. This was easily noticeable after being installed in the formal dining and living room floors. It took many months of persistent complaints to get a Home Depot representative from our local store to finally observe the issue. I eventually received replacement materials but was not reimbursed for the initial installation labor, or for that fact, the additional labor costs to remove the defective and install the new flooring. One positive for this location: They usually have the competitive pricing on water softener salt and I have never seen this to be out of stock. read more

I would give this store a zero star rating if it were an option. My husband and I went to this store to buy a microwave. We knew which one we wanted and just need to go there to buy it. When we arrived, we went to the appliances section and found the microwave we wanted. There was no one working back there to ask for assistance. We waited and wandered around for almost 30 minutes before I finally took the tag from the display up to the front for assistance. The store associate named Michael said he could help and asked if we were interested in saving $100. I said that I was. He told me if I signed up for a Home Depot card, I could save $100 on my purchase. After I agreed, I signed up for a card and was approved, Michael then quickly told us that the discount would only be for $50 instead. Irritated, I figured that was better than nothing, there's always a catch. After he tried to ring up the microwave, he said he was going to give us an additional discount for our trouble. He was unable to ring up this item correctly and had to ask for assistance from a manager. Needless to say, there was no additional discount for our trouble. The manager took another 15 minutes or so to ring up the microwave and then left. When I saw the final price, I asked Michael where the $50 discount was for applying for the card. He actually frustratingly told me that the discount would not be applied to the purchase and they did not handle that side of it, that it would be discounted on the financial side when I received my first statement for the credit card I just acquired. Angry, I said fine and he then proceeded to ask me for a good review as he was trying to get a gift card as a prize. I waited for my statement from the credit card company, and when it arrived, as I suspected, there was NO discount. I was suckered and taken advantage of, lied to, and to make matters worse, there was only a 2-week period of time you could take a survey for the Home Depot website which has obviously passed. I am cancelling my card (unfortunate to have to take a credit hit because of it) and will NEVER return to this store. I was very naïve to think I could take these people at their word. Buyers beware of the store associated named MICHAEL as he is lair and a manipulative salesman who will take advantage if you give him the opportunity. There's no such thing as a free lunch!! Also, be prepared to not receive any service or help anywhere in this store. I am going to make sure and let everyone I know to stay away from this scam place and that Home Depot encourages its staff to take advantage of their customers for a chance at a gift card. Every time I go to home depot I have no problem finding help! Employees are pleasant, knowledgeable, and help problem solve! I love this place!!!! The paint manager is wonderful also. While my husband and I looked for paint he played a find the sample game with my daughter... now she wants to go to home depot everyday :) I use to go to Menards but will not return! We were told our patio door would be here on a certain date. We arranged to have my dad here (10 hour round trip for him) to help us install. The door arrived nine days after the date we were told. My dad has to come back a second time. (We were told it was due to the holidays, although this all happened a week before thanksgiving.) When we called to express frustration to the employees at Home Depot, the associate told us, "I don't know who would have told you that date." We intended to have Home Depot install carpet in a family room we were refinishing. We chose a carpet on a Saturday evening, but called in on Sunday to cancel it because after bringing home a sample we knew we wanted something different. Were assured over the phone the order was cancelled. Went in mid-week to find that the order had been placed and even though it usually takes 2-3 weeks to get it in, that it was due to arrive the next day! Required to pay a $250 restocking fee before we could reorder another carpet. Scheduled the install for right after the holidays. Not convenient to have the house a mess but oh, well. Get a call a few days before scheduled install: "We forgot to place your order. We'll place it today but install will have to be rescheduled another 2-3 weeks after original date." Called store manager and asked if, since the first carpet was already there, if we could just go with it and not have to wait on install. Sure, if we pay the price of the original carpet: $500 more! No, thanks... Home Depot completely unwilling to see our point of view, take any responsibility for their employee's mistakes (it was the department manager). Cancelled the order and will go with someone who was recommended by a friend. read more

To be fair, I'm not sure if my experience is the fault of the store or the appliance delivery people. I purchased a new washer and dryer several weeks ago and yesterday was the first available delivery day. Originally, they gave me a delivery time of 5-7pm. A little later than I'd like but I didn't have to leave work early so that was a plus. Then they called and said that they had a cancellation and my delivery time had been moved to 3:30-5:30pm. I rescheduled meetings and worked through lunch to accommodate the change, only to be told less than 2 hours before delivery that they had "forgotten" my washer (how does that even happen?!). For something like that to happen is the result of just pure laziness. I politely asked the person who called if there was any way that they could go get the washer, since my time had already been moved up. His response was "Uh, No. I'd have to go all the way back to Eden Prairie to get it." Mind you, Eden Prairie is 35 min from my house. I guess I should have been more sensitive to HIS inconvenience. Now I am waiting another 3 days for my appliances and hoping that they actually get put on the truck this time. read more
