Food is horrible. Restaurant is dirty. Crispy noodles are always stale. Nashville location is better, I will not be going back to the Wilson location. Waste of money, as I have thrown my entire lunch in the trash the couple times I have gone to pick it up. read more

So I've been here a few times now and this place is the best tasting takeout style Chinese/ Cantonese place in Wilson!!! it isn't the best or most tasty outside of Wilson lets just make that clear! if you're in the mood for take out it hits the spot and everything doesn't have the same flavors like some of the other places who uses their master sauce on everything and don't try to doctor it up smh my go to order is the beef lo mein it's flavorful and plenty for 2 if you order a quart unless you're a big eater the place is clean and the service is good it takes usually 10 to 15 for your order so that's good you know it's fresh if you order a lot of food they give you a free 2liter which is good I didn't expect over all this is the place I go to for takeout for now read more

While I prefer a sit-down restaurant, I make an exception for Chinese Take-out as most of us do. While the ambiance is pretty stark, the food is pleasant without any singular overbearing tones. The steamed dumplings are a favorite of mine. Not the best I've had (that's reserved for a little place in Philly's Chinatown) but well prepared. Lam's Garden, or as I would have pronounced it, Lin's Garden, sit in the less travelled strip mall, corner Tarboro and Ward, being neighbor to nail salon, a Subway, and Blockbuster, which is coincidentally closing soon. Let's get down to the nitty gritty: This is your standard cheap and fast Chinese food, better to get it during lunch, because no matter what the sign says, you just know that the food do have MSG. However, that's not my gripe. One dish I always get every time I found a new fast Chinese food place, which is House Lo-Mein. It's just because the way it SHOULD be prepared: meats and the veggie shouldn't be cooked, frozen, and recooked; the noodles should go directly into the wok, because pre-boiled noodle become soft and generally break easily when doing stir fry. My impression of Lam's House Lo-Mein wasn't too bad, but.... Most of the dishes at Lam's have the same if not very similar sauce, that sweet soy sauce glaze. This is the best black pepper chicken I have ever had - seriously! I now live in Raleigh and anytime I'm in Wilson and craving Chinese Lam's Garden is where I go. It's not in the best part of town and the inside is pretty run down but that doesn't matter to me. Anyone that I have gotten to try the black pepper chicken has become addicted! The lady at the front that takes the orders is also very nice and helpful. I also think she works every day of the week, so I make sure to give her a couple dollars extra when I pick up my food.
