I had a really great experience at Maggi's Bridal! The shop itself is so cute, well organized and quiet. They only take so many appointments at one time so it's very personal and not a mad house compared to other popular bridal shops. As someone who gets overwhelmed easily this was such a relief. My associate Riley was such an angel, I could tell she really cared about my experience and made me feel heard and helped me articulate different things about the dresses to narrow down what I did or didn't like. She and the other associate who popped in occasionally (I didn't catch her name, but she was so wonderful to) really helped me get into dresses and made sure they looked right on me, and as a plus size bride with fewer options typically, they really did a wonderful job. They made me feel like I belonged and was deserving of a great experience and beautiful gown which meant a lot to me. They ran around pulling gowns, showing me skirts and using fabric to change the color - it was really cool and fun! I am so glad we went with this shop and they should be proud of how they train their employees, they were genuinely so so kind, caring, and knowledgeable. My sisters, mom, and I had a great time shopping for my wedding dress at Maggie Bridal. As bride on the curvier side I was terrified of wedding dress shopping, but our consultant was so understanding and made it a very enjoyable and comfortable experience. We tried on a few dresses and found one I really liked! I wasnt sure I would find "the one" so quickly so we went to a few other stores, and ended up coming back at the end of the day to order the dress! They took my measurements and recommended that I order the dress custom cut from the designer, which was a great suggestion (less work altering the dress). I received the dress a few months later and set out to have it altered. Once that was done, I took the dress back to Maggi Bridal were they steamed at no cost to me. read more

A must stop as you are shopping for your dress! My dress shopping experience started in Phoenix, AZ where I live. I got frustrated with the options and the pressure filled experiences I was having so I called my aunt in NC. She carefully reviewed a number of locations and booked appointments for my trip out. The very last bridal shop she found was Maggi. She said she thought it looked like they had some cool options and it was in a cute part of town so why not. Maggi Bridal sent me emails asking for details about my wedding. I cannot stress how important it is to fill these out with AS MUCH information as possible. I did so simply because flying clear across the country to shop didn't allow for extra time to have these detailed conversations. I shared ALL of the information I had to share with them via these links. I also called just to confirm I did everything I needed to in order to prepare for the appointment. While on the phone with Maggi Bridal the rep was attentive, kind and excited for this experience. The day was fast approaching and I got confirmation emails etc. which made me feel good about the first stop on our list. We arrived right on time for our 9:30am appointment. Lauren greeted us with a clipboard with ALL of my info I took the time to write up printed out. She had taken the time to read through all of it and already had a number of ideas for me which I thought was fantastic! She totally understood the look I was going for. She then walked us to our space that was all ours for our appointment. It was spacious and had room for my loving family to sit comfortably and look through the options. After setting our stuff down she gave us a tour of the dresses they had in stock to try. As we walked around she grabbed whatever we were interested in trying. She did pull a few that she felt would be worth a try. We then headed back to the dressing room sitting area that was all ours to start the process. The very first dress I tried ended up being THE one. Of course I went through the entire day from shop to shop trying different options and dresses. I will be honest and share that Maggi Bridal was not as fancy and didn't have as high profile of the store front as some of the other locations we tried but it was the sales rep that made the experience. It was clear that Maggi Bridal wanted to invest in their PEOPLE and their CUSTOMERS vs. decor, storefront etc. The rep I worked with had a background in fashion that BLEW ME AWAY. I mean this girl understood how to create a garment and the specifics of how to adjust a dress etc. She was passionate about me feeling my best in what I was considering buying. At no point did I feel pressured to purchase. I felt as though she wanted me to find the best option for me. After the day was complete I took some time to reflect on the entire experience. Lauren took the time to follow up with me. Lauren seemed excited about all of this. Her location also had dresses that were not insane in price and still stunning. I was able to finalize the process over the phone once I knew it was THE dress. They will be shipping it out to me in August. I will update my additional experience with Maggi Bridal as my dress arrival date nears! For brides out there searching....make time to stop here. Cannot recommend this enough, especially if you get Lauren Rose as a stylist. I thought I made an appointment online, but something happened and it didn't show up on their system. Lauren took me anyway and gave me her full attention for almost two hours. She was so personable and made me feel comfortable immediately. She listened to what I wanted and also softly pushed me out of my comfort zone a little bit, which broadened my thinking on styles. I purchased my wedding dress from Maggie's Bridal in January 2022. I live 2 hours away. They do not do alterations but recommend some to contact. I have a very basic shape tall and thin the dress I purchased had lace and was to be fitted. I am a size 4 and weigh 135 lb. The dress they ordered was a size 14. I knew from the start it was way to big. The manager stated the measurements were correct and they fit it to your hips and the rest needs to be altered. It was a huge amount of alterations that needed to be made. I was never informed of alteration cost or even a range. The store said they ordered the right size and could do nothing more. I used their recommendation for person to alter. It ended up costing me $850 to alter a $1800 dress. That was absurd. I contacted the manager she said the employees always tell a range of $400-800. On alterations. I was NEVER told that. And if I was I would not be complaining because I would have bought a different dress more in my price point. The manager has refused to credit me anything for this mishap. Very upsetting. All they care about is making a sale. read more

This is a shout out to my plus sized ladies either in the Triangle or those that are willing the travel. I had the MOST INCREDIBLE experience at Maggi Bridal in Raleigh. I was so nervous to go dress shopping as a street size 18/20 because I'd spoken to so many boutiques that said they didn't carry dresses that size. I was worried I wouldn't be able to try ANYTHING close to my size and would have to just imagine what it might look like. I had been recommended Maggi Bridal by a coworker (also a plus sized woman) who had been to one other boutique had been disappointed by the options. Maggi Bridal did NOT disappoint. I was able to try on tons of dresses, they talked to me at length about the vision I had in mind and the feel I wanted for my dress, they talked to me about my budget and took it seriously and I was so lucky to be there during a trunk show. I was able to get my dress and estimate my alterations for under budget. I am so excited to wear my dress on my special day and I really can't recommend the ladies there enough. read more

The wedding dress was very pretty but the alterations were another story. I was worried about and voiced my concerns with my thigh area and bust area at every alteration. They said the dress was solid and the bust line was not going to fold over. Well wedding day came and after 20 mins of wearing the dress the bust was already folding over and the seams on both of my thigh areas were coming undone. By the end of the night the tears were so big and the dress looked like a rag doll. I thought that paying $3000 for a dress that it would last for at least 4 hours. I want to warn future brides because it was embarrassing and so many pictures did not come out because of the rips and bust line folding over. read more

Maggi Bridal is amazing! I went to 9 different bridal stores (and probably 80 dresses) before I said yes to the dress at Maggi's, and I'm super excited to work with them! I went back to look at the same dress THREE times before saying yes, and Pamela was super patient with me through every appointment, even when I wasn't quite ready to say "yes"! In addition, they are super responsive on Instagram so I was sending them dresses I liked, scheduling appointments, etc all through Instagram instead of having to call. They are super super nice and I didn't feel pressured at all to buy a dress from there, or felt rushed to leave the store when I wasn't ready to buy (unlike some stores I went to). I'm super excited to be a Maggi Bride and highly suggest them to any bride looking for a dress! Some other random notes: they let me and my party "shop around" the store to pull dresses we liked (which we loved!), and they have three separate areas for three separate brides to be trying on dresses at the same time. Due to Covid there was never three brides in the store at once, but it's nice they have that option. They also have a super cute waiting area too! read more

I just bought my gown from Maggi Bridal and I couldn't be happier! This was the first shop I tried, and to be honest my mom and I were nervous, not knowing what to expect, and whether we would be pressured to make a quick decision. Lauryn was my consultant and she was amazing- super helpful and put us right at ease! First we took a few minutes to talk about my preferences and see some photos of dresses I liked, then she led us through the boutique, explaining the layout, the designers, and general price ranges. Then mom and I had some time to browse ourselves, pointing out dresses we wanted to try on. Lauryn then also suggested some gowns that she thought would match what I had described, and off to the dressing room we went. With each dress, Lauryn listened to what I liked and disliked, giving some tips and advice from her experience that really helped us make our decision. She also encouraged us to try a bunch of places, a bunch of gowns, and sleep on the decision. It was such a relief to not feel pressured to buy quickly! Also I think my appointment went a little beyond the allotted time but never did I feel rushed at all. Mom and I left the boutique with a clear favorite gown in mind, and a ton of pictures of it. I tried a few other places, and also really liked another gown. It really was sleeping on the decision and looking at the pictures afterwards that solidified my choice for me. Full transparency, I've known Amy, the owner since high school and we've been best friends for a looong time, and she's the Maid of Honor at my wedding. That aside, Maggi Bridal is amazing. With the store expansion, you have so many dresses to look through in such an elegant, uplifting, yet not uncomfortable space. I got there with some of my bridesmaids, my mom, and some other ladies and we spent 3-4 hours there. The dress selection was amazing - everyone found something (or multiple things) that they loved for me or for themselves. I was lucky enough to be able to walk around the store in the dresses I tried on and each fitting room is lovely and has it's own personality. I spent the most time in the back fitting room with the runway, because, well it's a runway and I'm in a beautiful wedding gown. My second favorite it on the other side with the tri-mirror. Also, let me say, as a plus-size bride that went to other stores - Amy the absolute BEST at clipping me in. I never once popped out of the clips even as I twirled, sashayed, and sat down. I ended up buying a dress from Maggi, as well as two hair accessories, a necklace, and a braclet - they have crazy good deals on jewelery when there is a sale! My daughter is a size 6-8. We found the dress of her dreams at Maggi Bridal and it was a very pleasant experience. We were told that the dresses run small and that a larger size would need to be ordered. I asked for an estimate of how much alterations would be, and was told somewhere in the ballpark of $200. When the gown finally came in, my daughter was so disappointed. She put on her size 18 dress and she looked like a little girl playing dress up. The girl helping us asked if she had just lost a huge amount of weight. She had not. We took the dress to a very reputable seamstress who was recommended by the shop. She was shocked that they dress was so big. The alterations that needed to be made were estimated at $600. I found this amount to be extreme. I reached out to the manager, the woman who sold us the dress and the owner, hoping to get some help with the extra cost of the alterations. I was not asking to be paid the whole amount, but I thought that half would be fair. They were very nice and talked about my daughter's happiness and her self-image and how they just wanted us to be "happy", but there was NO WAY that they were going to give us any money to aid in the alterations of this enormous dress. So....if you do go to the store, don't just trust that they are going to order you the correct dress. Make sure you ask questions and know what size you will be getting when the dress comes in. Don't just trust them to do the right thing. Buyer beware! read more

Our appointment was in February 2015, and the staff at Maggi were quite rude to my group when we came to visit (some of us even drove as far from State College and Philadelphia, PA). The older woman, who I assume is the manager, never even offered us water when we arrived, and then gave me a hard time when I asked for water for our group (we were there for more than 2 hours and the air was very dry in their store). We wanted to try on bridal gowns as well as bridesmaid dresses, and the level of service between the 2 fittings was night and day. They helped the bride with her dresses, pinning, etc. and the bridesmaids were thrown in 1 dressing room together (with no mirror) and forced to do everything ourselves. I should note that our associate, Amy, was very nice and treated us well. I also overheard 2 of the employees (1 of which was the older woman again) talking badly about our group, even pointing in our direction and snickering. They were so unprofessional. I just called there and the lady was sweet as pie. What a stark difference between in person and on the phone... so disappointing. read more

I've been looking for wedding dresses for a few months now and have gone to multiple salons. Maggi was not for me. The sales people were very flowery and was not listening to what I was saying. When I told them I wanted half or long sleeves I was essentially told they had two dresses in my price range. When I called I asked about a specific designer, who they said they had a "full stock" of dresses. However, they only had about 5. I was told I could try on 3 dresses, but with their selection I didn't even need that. One of those dresses I had tried on at a prior salon. I was immediately pushed into purchasing that day with an enticing 10% off - if I paid within the hour. I did end up picking the dress, however, I am buying from the prior salon I tried it on at as I cannot justify giving Maggi my business. Not to mention, the decor is dated and run down. The shop smelled like an antique house and it was painted pepto bismol pink. I was also told to use an external tailor because their tailors were too busy. I would stay far, far away. There are many better bridal salons in the area. read more

We went to Maggi Bridal in search of bridesmaid dresses and we really hit the jack pot with their Alfred Angelo dresses! We arrived a few minutes early for our appointment and they let us start browsing the dresses while our consultant finished up with another appointment. I was thrilled with how big the selection was and knew that everyone was going to find something they liked. Our consultant, Victoria, was great! She talked with us a little bit about what kind of dresses we were looking for and then just let us pick whatever we thought might work. I let all of my bridesmaids choose their own dresses, so when we were considering different dresses she consulted which dresses would be the most cohesive with each other. You could definitely tell she knew what she was doing. She was also super accommodating for one of my bridesmaids who just found out she is pregnant. She explained how the sizing works for an Alfred Angelo maternity dress and really made my bridesmaid feel comfortable with the situation. I also really like the layout of Maggi Bridal. We had a big spacious area to ourselves with 3 dressing rooms. There was plenty of seating and huge mirrors. While we were not the only appointment going on at the time, it still felt very private and was an incredibly fun experience for me and my bridesmaids. All my bridesmaids found something they liked and the prices were reasonable. I definitely recommend visiting here over David's Bridal for not only a better selection of dresses, but for a much better experience. read more

I couldn't have imagined a better shopping experience for my wedding dress. I wanted to go somewhere that made the occasion special without being pushy or snooty or just too much. I live in NYC and my family lives in Raleigh, so I thought it would be smarter to get it there, and I was right. Amy was genuinely wonderful, kind and caring, and she understood what I was looking for. And her communication throughout the process was outstanding -- especially important because I live in another state. This place is organized! And the rest of the staff I worked with was awesome, too. Plus, they care so much about getting the alterations perfect, and on my wedding day, the dress fit like a glove. I made an appointment here with my mom. We arrived 5 minutes early and when we rang the doorbell, the woman who answered didn't eve say hello, she just asked in a rude tone if we had an appointment. She brought us in and allowed to have a seat while we waited for our appointment. After 15 minutes of waiting, I got up to look at a few dresses and the same woman ran over to me and in the same rude tone she told me to sit and wait... only one customer at a time in the showroom. At this point, I'm a little perturbed. Even though it's a showroom and they order the dress you choose, they don't let you touch the dresses.. seriously? I will say that the actual woman who fitted me, was wonderful! My experience at Maggi Bridal was great! It was quiet and relaxing, and I felt encouraged by my bridal assistant the whole time and confident in all of the dresses. My only complaint was that there was not a lot of variety in the dress bodices - they were mostly strapped plunging neckline dresses - but other than that the service was amazing and the dresses were beautiful and high-quality. Brides should look elsewhere if you want the real bridal dress experience. I visited this salon with a newly engaged friend for her first appointment in her bridal dress search. First, you should be aware that they do not allow more than four guests and are unwilling to accommodate even the smallest exception. No food or drink so champagne is out of the question. When we arrived 5 minutes early for our appointment, we were told that they were finishing up the previous appointment and we were skirted off to a side room. Our one hour appointment was delayed 15-20 minutes after the start time while they finished up with another bride. The bride had previously called and told the staff that she was looking for tea length dresses. Upon arriving, they told us that they did not have tea length dresses, an issue which could have been easily resolved over the phone. The consultant was rude and pushy with suggestions ("You do not want a fitted dress") and was constantly wandering off to chat with other staff members. Members of our group had to help the bride into dresses and help her see what it would look like short/with straps/with a belt which is the consultant's job. Overall, the bride-to-be left her first ever bridal dress appointment feeling sad. I have recently shopped for my own wedding dress and this experience was very disheartening and nothing like the shops I've seen before. If you want the quintessential bridal dress shopping experience or if you even just want to feel special during your appointment, seek another salon. read more

This was the 6th store I have been dress shopping in and I finally found my dress! I went alone on a weekday afternoon and had the whole store to myself, which was so awesome and made me feel really comfortable and valued as a customer. The store is spacious, clean, and stocked with a wide variety of styles and price points. I had the pleasure of working with Pamela who was WONDERFUL! Of all the consultants I have worked with at other stores, I felt like Pamela really listened to my preferences and understood my style. She gave me great feedback when I asked her for opinion. She was also very patient as I went back and forth between a few dresses I really liked. She never rushed me and encouraged me to try on my top favorite dresses multiple times. Ultimately I ordered a slightly different dress than the sample they had in the store, and she helped me envision and feel confident with that choice! OK- I'm going to edit my review a little because I'm not here to ruin anyone's business, however please note that my friend (the bride) along with the rest of our party was extremely disappointed in our time spent at Maggi Bridal. We had just come from another dress boutique where we had an amazing experience, so yes they had a lot to live up to but it really felt like they just didn't really want our business. Our consultant was unfriendly during the whole experience, did not crack a smile or laugh at a single joke once. It didn't help that we were almost immediately given rules following a cold consultation and I honestly was afraid to touch anything. She was almost discriminatory when helping our bride try on dresses due to sizing, the opposite of what anyone trying on their potential dream dress wants to hear. Our bride ultimately made up an excuse of feeling overwhelmed so we could leave because she felt so uncomfortable. After leaving we went straight back to the first store and purchased our favorite dress there. In regards to the dresses - they were just OK as far as far as we were concerned. Maybe the right style for the right bride but we were looking for something a little more modern. The rest of the consultants in the store seemed fine, so who knows if it was just our consultant or not. In response to the comments from the store manager, the bride's mother and MIL thanked our consultant for her time because they are nice, polite people. Very bad experience overall ... I ended up buying a dress I wasn't a 100% sure about and I have been regretting it ever since! When my dress finally came in the store, I did not receive any call or email. I ended up calling myself because I was worried and was told my dress had been there for a whole month. When I bought my dress I was also told they had in house seamstresses, only to find out they got rid of them when I picked up my dress. I wanted to buy a veil from there and the answer I received was "we only have two and they wouldn't match your dress". I really wish I had been somewhere else. read more

Although I didn't end up purchasing my dress at Maggi Bridal, they were my first bridal shop experience and they were amazing. The owner of the store helped me try on dresses, and there was a second assistant as well. We had our own private area, and it wasn't overwhelming or crowded. The owner was very attentive, asked a lot of questions, asked what I liked and didn't like about each dress, and gave me a ton of personalized attention. She even helped me get in and out of each dress, which helped the process go so much smoother. After this experience, I assumed all other bridal shops would be this way. I went to three other bridal shops on my quest, and the other three after Maggi Bridal didn't even compare. I kept expecting the same type of service, but just didn't get it. I really wish I could have purchased my dress here because the service was so wonderful. Katelyn at Maggi Bridal was my wedding gown angel! She gave me the freedom to pick any dresses I wanted and follow the style that spoke to me - her suggestions were informative but never pushy. She was respectful of my budget and never tried to convince me to even try on dresses over my limit. And best of all, she was very patient with me as I went back and forth between two dresses. Maggi Bridal worked with me to make sure I was completely happy with my choice of wedding gown. They had every opportunity to be annoyed with me but instead were always encouraging! I bought a beautiful wedding dress from Maggi Bridal. The sales experience was wonderful. I wish I could say the same for the fittings and alterations. After the initial fitting, every follow-on fitting I confirmed my appointment the day before and was assured by the Maggi staff person that all the work promised for this appointment had been completed. I had 3 follow-on fittings, and each time, most of the alterations had NOT been completed. The fitting where my sister was requested to come with me to learn how to do the bustle, I was told the bustle was done and all the alterations complete. Well, the bustle had not been started, and there were pins in the bodice and the hem had not been done. I understand unexpected delays, but the lady should have told me the day before the work was not done so we could reschedule. I tried to make the best of things and not stress. As long as all the hemming and bustle work got done by the wedding, all would be good with the world, Imagine my surprise at my reception when my bridesmaids went to bustle my dress and discovered 2 bustle ties were missing, and the bustle was not hemmed up 3 extra inches as promised. The heartbreak was that my new father-in-law had planned a special waltz for us to dance. We tried our best, but I kept stepping on the back of my dress and losing my balance. After only a couple of minutes, we had to end the dance early. The dress itself was gorgeous. However, my experience with the alterations and lack of integrity (assuring work was completed when it obviously wasn't) was stressful and their staff's response to the issues was very concerning. Bottom line, my advice is to buy your perfect dress at Maggi's if you can't find it anywhere else, but find another tailor to do the alterations. read more
