Even if her adopted pet did get kennel cough prior to being adopted that certainly doesn't warrant a negative review. Animals get colds and viruses just like people do and it can't always be avoided especially when they are taking in strays and/or uncared for pets. When you adopt an animal you have a responsibility to care for your new pet and should expect to pay for what ever medical ailment and treatment he/she should need immediately following the adoption process. If you can't afford medical care for unexpected medical issues then you shouldn't be adopting a pet. Thank you Richardson Rescue for protecting animals and saving their lives!!! The owner, Janet, said all emails had been sent out. She said to apply for a second time in case there was some glitch or typo. I applied for a second time on 9/12 around 12pm. Given it was a weekend, she said they would process it Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday, 9/15, I again have zero emails. I messaged her on facebook asking what the status was on my second application, and she said that all emails had been sent out. Again, I had zero emails (including in the spam folder) from them. She apologized over messenger and told me to call the next day between 10 and 3:30 and tell whoever answers the phone that Janet said to apply over the phone. Wednesday, 9/16, I called around 12:40 to no answer and left a voicemail. I didn't receive a single call back, so Thursday, 9/17, I called again around 1:30, to no answer. As of 9/19, he's now been taken off the website, I assume adopted. How can you run a rescue, begging for donations and adopters, yet don't answer people who are genuinely interested. What a scam.

After speaking with Holly Hicks (owner) and the rest f the staff it was clear that they were in this for the animals and truly cared about finding them loving homes. I filled out an adoption form and called Holly shortly thereafter. While she is not located in Midland, NC, she often meets there as she works closely with McCoy Feed & Supply http://www.mccoyfeed.net/ ( hence the address is McCoys) The adoption was $250 and includes her first shots, micro-chip, and spay when she is older (voucher). I also was given a huge bag of food, some de-wormer, and some special treats from McCoys. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars, is they take your pet to an exam room without you. You don't meet the vet or watch the exam. I was contacted by email with blood test results in under 24 hours. What makes this service amazing, is that it is a way to get basic services at a price I can afford. My vet wanted over $300 for Senior Annual Labs. The humane society charged me $130 for labs and a heartworm test.

I got there about 3pm and also saw people leaving the clinic side of the building with their cone head dogs too. This makes my heart so happy. This place is doing wonderful things and making magic. They had adorable cats too, well 1 cat and about 6 kittens. ‍ also noticed they had a cat cafe but I didn't see a espresso machine and I only saw 1 cat. I don't know if it's only open certain hours but that's a wonderful idea. The sign said tea also so I hope they're able to get that going and they make need a volunteer for the cafe. I was very impressed by the care they took with the animals, and making sure they went to good homes. The adoption fee was around $100, and included a rabies shot, flea treatment, and voucher for neuter/spaying. Willoughby is wonderful addition to the family and we are so glad to have found him!
