I love this venue, we have been here so many times throughout the years. It's so clean, and beautiful. Staff are always so nice. We were lucky enough to see Tapestry Tribute the music of Carole king. Beware of Poor Service at Lancaster Performing Arts Center: I had an unsettling experience with an older blonde employee wearing glasses at the ticket checkpoint. After scanning my ticket, she immediately forgot and demanded to see it again, then abruptly yelled at me to stop as if I hadn't gone through proper procedures. When I reminded her that she had just scanned my ticket, she simply said, "Oh," without any apology or acknowledgment of her mistake. Her poor memory and lack of professionalism raise concerns about whether she should be in this role--or if her behavior was influenced by bias. Either way, the staff should be trained to communicate more effectively and treat all guests with respect. read more

Such a classy venue to enjoy a concert. We came from hours away to see Boney James sold out show. Everything from start to finish was fantastic. Beautiful theater with no bad seat in the house. We enjoyed some drinks from the bar and the bartender was very kind. Drinks were reasonably priced too. All the staff was kind and crowd was great. Sent my wife and 84 year old mother to a recent Cher concert. She was cussed at and threatened by some drunk dude because he was sitting in her seat and he had to move. I hope to meet and greet him soon. When she requested assistance from staff they told her what's the big deal do you want your money back?. They literally had to escort the stummbling drunk fool to the restroom and back to his seat. Real classy establishment. read more

Aside from A Christmas Carol being the most boring performance we have ever seen, having really unimaginative backdrops, the people working there are not nice nor helpful. My husband left his wallet behind and the girl that picked up the phone was dismissive and rude. When he went back to see if anyone could help him find it the security guards refused to let him in and made him wait out in the 30 degree weather despite there being a huge waiting area. I don't really understand how such a small community theatre could have such rude and unhelpful people working there. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the theatre is nice and all the seating has good views to the stage. I'm sure other performances are better. But I would definitely avoid A Christmas Carol. Scrooge was the best character of all of them, so I hope he is in other productions. read more

One of the best venues out there. I attened a special concert for Frankie J a few days ago. When I arrived the staff was more than welcoming. Staff was extrenely helpful with seat location. I was giving a program book that lists all the different artists/shows that will be performing. The venue is beautiful and well maintained. I live almost 2 hours away from this venue but I will definitely return in the future! Amazing sound and great seats! read more

Excellent venue in the heart of old town Lancaster. Theater is more intimate which was perfect for us. Audience respectful, again, nice! We've been here many times and all seats are good acoustically. Bar as fast but a real lack of restrooms can sometimes muddle things. We were here for The Lee Rocker (WORTH GREAT SHOW!) concert and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Downtown at night is active and relatively safe. Lots of interesting restaurants and shops. Do try the museum, MOAH, super installations. read more

This is a review for the 2024 production of "It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" by the Cedar Street Theatre. It was really painful to watch. The guy who played George Bailey, the most important role in the show, was astoundingly awful. It's tough to live up to an act like Jimmy Stewart (whose manner of speaking he tried to imitate), but this actor's ability was so off the mark, so bad that I wanted to leave at the intermission. There was no intermission. He whined through all of his lines and there was nobody in the play to make up for his terrible performance. Because nobody else was very good either and it was two hours of really cringe-worthy material. The review in the Valley Press was good and I really and honestly don't know how they came to that conclusion. In addition, people in the audience were using their smart phones during the performance which they'd specifically been told NOT to do, and the morons behind me decided the time was ripe for a disagreement. I doubt I'll ever see a production by this company again, so bad was this rendition. And the Arts Center needs to get serious and have ushers willing to remove people from the audience who are disruptive. Otherwise, why go? read more

This past weekend my niece had s recital here (she's 5 ). We've been here before but now I'm reviewing it finally and I love this place. Not only do they put on a great show, they are also cautious and check bags at the door as well. My niece was so cute and all the other older/younger dancers were so amazing too! The ladies escorting us to our seats were so pleasant and sweet, I remember them being that way last year too! I know they have a lot of local support which is amazing! They also have single flowers or bouquets for sale but you can't be too picky, not that they're bad. BUT if you want something other than a rose pre-buy your flowers. Lastly, there is a little place for coffee, munchies, and other beverages as well. This was also a nice touch during intermission. Costumes were absolutely fantastic, dancers were too, and so were those working the larger sized venue Had a great time just like last year! Had a great time watching Rock of Ages here. Nice theater, all seats are comfortable & with a great view regardless where you sit. Staff is helpful and they have a concession stand to grab some refreshments in case you get thirsty. Plenty of bathrooms and smoking area is a few feet from the door. You can find plenty of parking behind the venue or along the main boulevard. Plenty of restaurants near walking distance. Will return soon... read more

Excellent venue the view is great from any seat my only complaint is when there is an event going on such as Christmas on the Blvd it would be nice to have LPAC have blocked off parking with an attendant verifying tickets so people who payed to see ballet or play have parking and don't have to park 10 min away other than that show was great. read more

Well the place itself was nice and clean. Bathrooms were clean but the staff was rude, all of them. We went tonight for the Frozen viewing with my daughter and my friend and their children. For being a children's even they were rude from the very beginning. We walk in and the door lady immediately says in a rude voice "you NEED to have your tickets out before you come to the door because it's taking to long and wasting time". ( it literally took me 2 seconds to pull them out of my pocket. We go inside to see the decorations they have set up including some Anna and Elsa "boards" go to take a picture of my 2 year old on the "backdrop" they have set up and immediate the lady working it freaks out and with a bad attitude says to my TWO year old daughter. NO you can't stand there. You need to Move over here to the tape.. okay. Then she proceeds to try and hug "Elsa" when A DIFFERENT lady working there yells. NO please don't touch that. They aren't allowed to touch that. Okay she's Two. She's going to touch things. After the show. When they get to meet Ana and Elsa as we are waiting in line my daughter keeps trying to look to see Olaf etc when a women proceeds to speak to her in a loud rude voice to move against the wall because she was blocking traffic. She's TWO years old an excited to see them. Needless to say the movie wasn't even over yet and there was NO traffic. So disappointed. If your going to do a kid event have KID FRIENDLY STAFF. This place is seriously my favorite venue. Big enough to get some really interesting acts, small enough and well-designed enough that there are no bad seats... I've sat in the balcony and the front row, and a lot in between. Seating is comfortable. Lobby is lovely. Easy, free parking...which is so rare in SoCal. Isn't "Lancaster Performing Art Center" an oxymoron? Just kidding. It's a good place. It's smaller than most civic auditoriums. This is actually a benefit. The ticket prices are smaller. The parking is easy and free. It's a short walk to get to and from the seats. The bathroom lines aren't insane. Because I heard an amplified David Sanborn concert, the sound system was clean and full. The sightlines from the back row of orchestra were unblocked by the heads in front of us. On the downside, it has a generic high school auditorium feel (without the swing-out desks under the arm rests). The light from the sound booth projected into our seats and was a distraction. read more

I have seen shows at the LPAC many times, and also performed in some. I love the LPAC, I have performed and seen plays in many other venues in the LA county area, and the LPAC is one of the nicest for its size. It is the only place in the antelope valley to see top-quality shows. I am always delighted to see the big names that perform here. It is in a great location in downtown Lancaster that is such a fun place to be and hang out. This is one of the many reasons why I absolutely love living in Lancaster. read more

Such a nice venue for being in the AV. I've been to lesser places in Orange County! I grew up performing here, and the crew has always been pleasant and fun to get to know. Everything is always clean. Dressing rooms and bathrooms are large and always clean. The Green Room is a great place to relax, and is equipped with microwaves and vending machines. As an audience member, the seats are comfortable, the lobby is clean. Ushers are nice and so are the box office workers. The lighting, skrims, curtains and wings are professional and in perfect condition. At intermissions you can get coffee, tea, sodas, brownies and cookies. All kinds of great performances tour through here along with wonderful local performances. You can check their website for upcoming shows! Shout out to AVB my old ballet company, they put on some amazing performances, including the yearly Nutcracker. Now that Lancaster Blvd. (We call it the BOOUUUUULLLEVAAAHHHD now) is all remodeled, I can see it being nice to grab dinner and walk around the shops before a performance. The whole theater atmosphere has been greatly improved by the renovations. read more

I see I posted a review about the LPAC in 2009 and I still feel the same about the Arts for Youth programs for the children of the Antelope Valley. Now however, I can rave equally about the evening shows ranging from comedy, music, magic, dance and some great theatrical shows. The LPAC manages to support local theatre and talent as well as bringing in some legendary professionals. Great venue with super staff! read more

Holy moley! They tore down a few blocks of rag-tag strip-mall-like shops and put up a new, huge (for AV standards), beautiful gem of a building. Very impressive. It has turned into THE up-scale entertainment destination for the desert sophisticate. Parking in the back, gather/meet in the front, seats are comfy. Ticket prices are generally reasonable. (Except when the "super-stars" come to town--is it really worth $90 to see Michael Bolton ? ;) Dinner, a nice show at LPAC then drinks at--er, check Yelp for dinner and drinks ;)--all add up to a nice evening in the AV! read more

I, along with several other friends, have grown up here doing plays with Missoula, dance recitals, music recitals, etc. Practices and meals in the black box. Running around downstairs in the green room and dressing rooms. A little jewel in the dusty old AV. read more

As has been said, LPAC is the only place in the AV for top-quality productions. The venue itself is clean and fairly spacious; the staff are competent and professional. As a pit musician, I appreciated the facilities it provided as well as the atmosphere which felt conducive to artistic expression. read more

I'll preface this by saying I've lived in L.A. and seen all variety of theater, small venues, the Center Theater Group, etc, and am an admitted theater snob. LPAC is your typical small-town version of a performing arts center. Mostly small recycled national "shows" on tour with the occasional local production thrown in just to make it legitimate. Whether it's good or bad depends on your taste and the particular show. I admit I'm impressed with some of the performers they've managed to attract, but the ticket prices need to be commensurate with the area; they seem to be trying to rival some of the better theaters in L.A. without having the overall goods to back that up. I was disheartened to find that the city's support of local theater is dismal and, in fact, has edged out what used to be a fairly well-respected local repertory, The Ceder Street Theatre. Guess I'll have to check out The Palmdale Playhouse to see if there's anything approximating real theater in the Antelope Valley. read more

Today was the first day tickets could be purchased for the 2019/2020 season, and I and three of my friends lined up early with our folding chairs to wait in the hot summer heat for the ticket windows to open. After a while, a super nice LPAC staff member (Julie) came out to ask us how we were doing and inquired if we would like some water! How welcoming is that??? Another staff member (Nancy) told us there was a good chance they would open the ticket window a little early since there was a group of people already waiting in line. And then the real magic happened! A wonderful staff member (Teddy Henderson) was so patient, kind, friendly, and extremely efficient at making sure we bought the best seats available in the section we wanted for all the events we had selected. I just love the staff in the LPAC ticket windows! I've never had anything but a wonderful experience when purchasing tickets at the LPAC windows. Everyone is so helpful and friendly! Fabulous! First time at theatre and saw the 'Russian National Ballet Theatre'. Wow! Awesome!! Felt like a private ballet just for us as the center is small and any seat is great! I love the LPAC. Growing up in the AV I've always gone to shows and they've always been fun. They have a variety of different shows every season that appeals to every type of audience. As of late, it's been harder to see shows when they have two big shows back to back and each ticket cost $30 and it's hard to drop $60 real fast, they should spread their big shows out a little bit and it would make it easier for all to afford. But other than that, the acts that come are awesome! I also love how they have shows for the local school kids to come to, part of the re-vamped education for the youth program. read more

We saw Lewis Black last night, and he was absolutely hysterical! Well worth the money, and very topical. He touched on news items from both Washington DC and the AV right from that day's headlines. We need more shows from this side of the spectrum; I think LPAC has about 750 seats, and EVERY CHAIR was filled. Seems like the AV is finally developing some political common sense... But about LPAC itself. Going in, the lines were not well-controlled, and people were cutting around others already waiting. The seats were pretty uncomfortable, by one hour into the 2 1/2 hour show. My husband is a big guy (6'4" and about 300 lbs) and he was a tight fit, including leg room. At least three other guys in our row had similar "fit" issues. While we were waiting for the show to start, I realized that I'd be hurting at some point, so decided to take something for pain pre-emptively. I got my pills, and went to the Lobby looking for a water fountain. I found a pair, marked with a lovely plaque saying "Donated by Lancaster Community Hospital." Well, Palmdale Regional Medical Center needs to step it up, because when I pushed the button to drink, a tiny amount of water dribbled out, barely making it past the hole. Of course I couldn't drink that, AND of course I'd already tossed the pills in my mouth! So I spit them out, and went to the bar, where I paid $3 for a bottle of Kirkland (Costco) water ($2 for the bottle, + tip). Basically I paid the cost of an entire case of water, just to take some pills, since LPAC [obviously] keeps their drinking fountains nonfunctional to make money. Lewis Black has a time for audience comments at the end, and we heard about LPAC's serving beer on ice, and tequila without limes. So, show gets 5 stars, but the venue gets 2. Also included in this calculation is the inadequate amount of disabled parking spaces out back. read more

Worse venue to see bands like Which Ones Pink a Tribute Band to Pink Floyd, Firefall, Alan Parsons Project, etc. Crowd is a complete bore. If you have too much fun they complain to the old people who call u out of venue. My son caught them making fun of me because I was dancing with the music. They are rude all the way from the ticket booth. This place is not meant for bands it's meant for plays for old people to go and enjoy. I will never ever attend another show at this venue. They need younger people to volunteer and if they don't like people standing up and cheering for a Band they haven't seen in 30 years they shouldn't work there and people who don't like other people getting into the music shouldn't go there either who sits at a concert with their hands folded it's ridiculous I'm done. Will never recommend any of my friends to attend that venue. I'll like and say is rude rude rude rude and I'm afraid the next time I go I may end up in jail or knocking somebody out read more

Saw les miserables here. Fantastic show!!! Castvwas great and I was very happy! Wasnt expecting a great show from a local group but this was good! Wish the venue had better food other than served on paper plates and cheap homemade food wrapped in saran wrap (kinda cheesy and tacky)...also, service was okayv from staff, not very friendly or professional, but then I guess it's not l.a. now is it? Dress code was all over the place. I would go see another cedar street production and bravo for good talent!!! read more

This venue is a nice size, clean, easy to navigate, and has comfortable seats. In the past 2 weeks, we've seen 2 different performances; The Nutcracker Ballet and the Hometown Christmas. The Nutcracker was awesome, however, we were a bit disappointed in the Hometown Christmas. I've been significantly involved in church music programs and performances and understand and appreciate the time and effort everyone devotes, however, I feel the better venue for this performance would be an actual church building/sanctuary, and have a "free-will" offering instead of charging $17 per ticket. The real annoyance at both The Nutcracker Ballet and the Hometown Christmas, however, was the rudeness and inconsiderateness of the people in the audience.....people having full blown conversations without any regard to others around them. This is rude to both the performers and other people in the audience. I understand that Lancaster Performing Arts Center isn't responsible for the behavior of audience members, however, prior to the beginning of the performance people are reminded to silence/turn off their cell phones, etc., , ,perhaps they need to be reminded to not talk during the performance as well. read more

Was treated for my birthday this Sunday afternoon by a great friend at LPAC. Saw The Nutcracker Suite and it was so delightful. We were treated well by the house manager, Craig and also Sally our usher. Had a small issue that came up but it was taken care of properly and everyone was very helpful and nice. Seats were great and comfortable. The play was spectacular! Dancers did very well. Loved the show. Would definitely go to see it again. Been to LPAC for other concerts and plays and have always been impressed. The place is very clean. Just a great place. So glad that Lancaster has such an impressive performing arts center. read more
