A photo on the Buffalo Bills 50 yard line with a personal photographer framed in commemorative frame. Doesn't appear they are holding large events quite yet due to the COVID-19 restrictions. I will be eager to see how things take off for this lovely venue in the near future. This venue is part of the newly formed "BFLO District" at the Eastern Hills Mall. Who knew that Sears could look so chic?! Quite a make-over, indeed! Four stars for now. Let's see if this total flip is a flip in the right direction. I am amazed that the space was an old Sears. The space was beautifully designed, well thought out and is now a destination instead of turning into another abandoned building. In addition to the event center attached is the BFLO store, a hair salon, Chruscicki Bakery, Simply Pierogi and Sto Lat. The space itself is perfect for a wedding or your next big event. It is a large open and airy room with darker wood floors, light walls and furniture and gorgeous crystal chandelier and snowflake accent lighting. The interior design is very modern and elegant with touches of Buffalo subtly added in. Great lighting, tons of parking and a huge bar. To the back of the room are doors which take you to a hallway that connects to the other businesses in the complex. The hallway is large enough to accommodate mingling of overflow guests from the event center.

Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed in our overall experience. Each guest is given a sheet of paper where you can select 3 teas. The server didn't explain this was per person so we were confused thinking it was 3 per table. The biggest disappointment for us is that we were given tea bags, which in my opinion is not appropriate for an experience of afternoon tea and really cheapened the experience. As an avid tea drinker, I personally was expecting at least loose tea. We were given one hot tea pot for the table and had to constantly ask for refills until towards the end when the server gave us a second pot. It was a bit dangerous for us trying to pass one kettle around the table of four people as well. They also don't give you any iced water to drink on the side which was disappointing. In addition, no one came to clean out or change out your tea cup when you were moving on to drink the next tea. So I ended having a taste of earl grey in the chamomile tea. For the 3rd tea, I ended up dumping some of it out on my plate and wiping with my napkin. Eek! We did however, enjoy the food. They present you with a 3 tiered tray with a variety of finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries and jam/butter. We all thought the finger sandwiches, scones and desserts were delicious. The sandwich were tasty, but a bit tiny and definitely needed more filling. Overall, I may come back for the food but I was disappointed in the use of tea bags and the inattentive service.

We also weren't notified that was what we were getting. Housekeeping kept throwing things out. I opened the lotion and soap, but when they came in to clean they threw both out. Costly for the hotel, not necessary to do. Weird needs missed. No place to put towels in bathroom. They were in the bedroom near the windows as far from the bathroom as you could get. Also no place to put soap bar down. There was a tray, but if you put soap in it the paint from the tray got on the soap.
