The day before the job he shows up and comes over to chat and decline's doing the job. He tells me face to face "I'm just going to pass". I'm like what the heck. Our company went through Angie's list to get bids and this guy is unreliable unless it's convenient for him. Maybe too hot out for him to work. We have other contractors coming into work the next day and now they have to be canceled. So he cost them their jobs as well. We have other bids but now 2 weeks out due to M & M Hauling & Bobcat. I just wanted to mention some highlights of working with LAP Demolition: 1) Luis came out the same day I called him to give me a quote and sent me the estimate right when he said he would. 2) The quote was significantly cheaper than any of the other quotes we had gotten, and the quote was written very clearly so we could see exactly what we were paying for. 3) Luis was very helpful and friendly and pointed out helpful details, such as suggesting we leave the support boards on the house until we could get stucco work to repair the exterior. He was also very flexible about the date of the demo as we wanted to schedule it for two weeks out, rather than doing it immediately. 4) Luis and his crew arrived right on time the day of and completed everything within about 4.5 hours. They brought their own portable toilet and were very efficient and tidy. They even swept up any sawdust left over and hauled everything away. We really appreciate the high-quality work that Luis and his crew did and we now have a blank slate for our future house projects. When they arrived, Victor and his coworker introduced themselves to my mom and got to work. They finished in 15 minutes. Then, they took the extra step of sending me a text that the job was finished and sent me a picture of the truck of junk when I asked. Shafiaq Khouli and his SK Concrete team built on our back yard a 14' x 14' SPA niche including a…read more12' x 12' x 5" reinforced concrete pad, foundation, drainage, three sides surrounding half high retaining walls and embedded SPA electrical wiring conduit. They also installed footing drain (French drain) on the back retaining wall, backfilled with the usual gravel, crushed stone and covered the outside of the walls with installed paneled stone veneer. They also did the initial former structure demolition, debris hauling and the requested earth moving and other necessary small retaining walls reassembly. It sounds like an easy simple job but, believe me, it got complicated quite soon. Along the construction way, I was able to interact with the crew and bounce ideas and corrections which were followed to my customer satisfaction, resulting in more than a very acceptable final product. When the inevitable, beyond his control, the one odd crew helper misbehavior occurred on the job, this contractor immediately corrected it, got on top of the problem and smoothly and quickly we had no more of an issue here. He also facilitated for me the customer to bring my own tile / stone wall-caps products and installer guys, which ended doing a beautiful job we're very proud of. Pricing fair, not inexpensive. Job done acceptable, with your own (the customer) continuous supervision and being able to stop working crew's irreparable mistakes before they happened, however, the final product came out well built and functional as we imagined and expected, we are grateful for that. Thanks again to Shafiaq and SK Concrete for accepting working on our small home project and for including us in their busy commercial and industrial schedule.
