Through old age and woodpeckers, there were several pieces of wood and siding that need replacing and painting. I will attach a photo to show you our chimney but as you can see, it is pretty high and the ground is not level. I was concerned....but the workers reassured me that they got this. And they did. We still felt compelled to offer up our prayers for their safety...thank you, Lord. Secondly, because we asked them to seal/stain our deck, they first had to pressure wash it. They did a fabulous job doing that as well....and not everyone you inquire about wants to pressure wash a deck. But SMS did it and did it well indeed. Lastly, the seal/stain of our deck completed the work we required. Again, hopefully the photos speak a thousand words. All three of the workers were on top of this as well-mission accomplished. Happy customers. Final thoughts: this was all made possible by our initial meeting with Field Manager, Serge. When we met with him to go over what we wanted done, what this will cost us, and when it could be done, Serge's warm personality and professional manner really impressed us. He made us want to give money to his company, and make us feel good in doing such. Guess what? We did and we do. Speaking about money, my wife always gets estimates from several sources...trust me, SMS is very competitive and won't gauge you like some companies try to. Rodrigo did a small handyman job for my rental property. Since I don't live there and can not see…read morethe job myself, I rely on text to communicate with him. When I ask him to take before and after pictures and send to me, he got so offended and say I don't trust him. He spend about 3 hours to replace 2 damaged plywood on the soffit, and claimed he has applied 3 coats of paint. I ask him how can he finish 3 coats in such a short time, again he said I don't trust him and threaten me that he will torn his work down and not willing to return the 50% initial payment. I decide this small job is not that important to fight, so I paid him. I ask him to send me a receipt, he just send me an invoice. I ask him to put a remark that the invoice is paid in full, he did put that sentance in with following: "... You are very difficult. In fact, I dare to say you probably don't even have a wife. You are unbearable..." If you like to be threaten and not be respected, he will be a perfect handyman to hire.

Be cautious because this company lacks professionalism and ethics. My experience with the company…read morewasn't very good. The contract included the remodeling of a master bathroom, another bathroom, and the entire kitchen. H. Mora rarely showed up to inspect the work that the laborers were doing, which is why I believe several things went wrong. In fact, it often felt like I was the project manager, as workers would sometimes arrive and ask, 'What are we supposed to do here?' Most of the workers were not employees of the company; they were subcontracted, often arriving at their convenience, and not all of them had a strong work ethic. Mora insisted that it was better to have the bathroom furniture custom-made. Frankly, it didn't result in good quality work. I believe purchasing it from Home Depot would have been a better choice. In the kitchen, the farm-style sink looks bad because they didn't measure it correctly. After it was mounted on the cabinet, they had to use a lot of caulking to make it look 'good.' The quality of the crown molding leaves much to be desired. I conveyed all of these and other dissatisfactions to Herminio Mora. He explained that his father had passed away, causing delays due to his mourning, which I understand. He asked for time to make things right, but that time never came. I would not recommend this company unless you have plenty of time, don't mind spending extra money, and want to learn how to be a general contractor yourself.
