House is nice. Build quality is poor and we were forgotten on the one year warranty. They never finished the list. If I was buying again I would look around or hire an inspector that would monitoring and consult on build quality. read more

We have been in our home in Woodside for 2 1/2 years, and could not be happier. We have heard some concerns about their speed of response, but have never experienced anything but the highest level of professionalism from the LG staff. My only complaint is that we were not offered enough 55+ amenities as options when we built the home, but we took care of them after we moved in, and we understand that Landed Gentry is now offering even more amenities and options. So they are learning and responding which is all I can ask. As to the quality of their work, I am very satisfied and are in our "forever" home now. My wife says that her next move will be in a pine box, so I know that she is happy as well. We love Jayci and know that she does a great job for others as well. Overall, I am a BIG FAN. read more

We purchased a newly built home from Landed Gentry Realty in 2008. We loved the house. With the home came warranties. At 3 months 6 months and one year we could call Landed Gentry to come out and fix any small issues we were having with the home. We didn't need to use any of those warranties as the house was fine. We also were given a "one time use during the life of the home while we lived in it" guarantee. The gentleman that told us about the warranty (we also have a form that reads the same) said to hold onto that one as we could use it when something major happened, for example, roof leaks, your water heater blows up, etc. Four years later our septic pump gave out. We called Landed Gentry and hear responses like, "call a plumber, don't call us", "we don't know anything about a warranty" and "the person who told you about the warranty is no longer here (even though we have the warranty in our homeowners packet from their company). We began contacting them for answers and no one would return our calls, we sent letters with all the documentation from plumbers and electricians, who told us the pump was installed poorly at the time the house was built. Our bill to fix the pump came out to $4,000. We eventually had to go to an attorney to even get Landed Gentry to return our calls. They're response, well pay the $400.00 for the electrician "as a good neighbor gesture" because we don't remember any guarantee (again, I provided them with a copy of THEIR warranty). This has been a frustrating experience. I would not choose to do business with Landed Gentry ever again. Their "guarantees" are worthless and when you do need to use them they become null and void. read more

How absolutely hilarious that you would suggest leaving our lease early would be without penalty. We have already been penalized too much by your company by paying $250 cleaning fee, but when we moved in the apartment wasn't cleaned AT ALL! I had to clean black filth off every surface and inside every cabinet before I could actually clean it for real. So you owe ME $250 cleaning fee!! When we move out we also have to pay $300 to have our carpets cleaned even though we OWN a carpet shampooer and can do it ourselves. Another extortion fee. PLUS as a person with a disability we cannot move without hiring help so we will have to pay another $1,000 to move 6 months later because you guys are slumlords and you call that WITHOUT PENALTY?!! Not to mention it the millionth time or anything, but packing an entire house alone is penalty to a person with a disability!! Just goes to show how out of touch these corporate slumlords are with reality that more than $1500 extra needless expense in six months time would be considered no penalty. I guess we should have known by your disgusting name alone that simple "serfs" like us wouldn't get a fair shake from 'the landed gentry". read more

First time in a brand new home, and Landed Gentry has been quite diligent in fixing the minor blips that inevitably happen during construction. She certainly does not follow-thru on promises and is misinformed most of the time. What a waste of time dealing with her. We have learned more from the neighbors than from Jayci. The process of purchasing a Landed Gentry home has been a very positive experience for us. More than anything else, Landed Gentry has proven to be an ethical builder, treating us with respect and professionalism at every step along the build journey. We had a positive experience with the sales staff Rebecca Ungar and Rita Grant, who didn't seem to mind that we came to the model dozens of times to check on build deadlines, look at finishes, and get a good feel for the space of our new home. Their lovely welcome basket was not necessary, but a nice touch from two people we had grown very fond of. Our designer, Debbie Boffey, was so patient with us during the selections process and went over and above to give us the time we needed to make our selections and stay within budget. We asked for several special requests and Debbie advocated for us within Landed Gentry. Landed Gentry was open to most of our special requests (a fact that was greatly appreciated) and Debbie was able to kindly but factually explain why LG was not able to fulfill one or two. Each time we had a meeting with her, she greeted our dog with as much enthusiasm as she greeted us--a gesture that is never lost on dog lovers! Jack, the construction manager, was patient with us as we dropped by the build site to check on progress. He never seemed to tire of our questions--and we had many! When something was found to be incorrect, (and there are always going to be a thing here or there that doesn't go as planned) Jack looked into it right away and got it corrected. Finally, one of the most lovely LG employees is Dave, the walk-through and warranty guy. He has a delightful personality and a very calm way of dealing with hundreds of little "fix its" so that we, the homeowners, are completely satisfied. We just completed our one year warranty period and he took care of each and every item on our list, quickly and professionally. We couldn't be happier. For us, it's about Landed Gentry's people and their commitment to ensure that we are happy with our home.
