I found this café while doing a search for place for breakfast or lunch in Lander. It got fairly good reviews, so my friend and I decided to give it a try. I ordered a latte and an orange/apricot scone, while my friend ordered an everything bagel and a mocha. My scone was very large and tasty, although the glaze on the top was a little sweet and the orange was more pronounced than the apricot. My drink was just the standard coffee shop latte, but still good never the less. My friend said her bagel was good; although the gal at the counter forget to put it in the toaster until she was questioned. In all this place was good, despite having a while for our drinks and the bagel for my friend. read more

The exposed brick and tall ceilings in the 1893 building made the Bakery feel like an oasis on a hot August afternoon. I had a large iced latte and was made quickly by a smiling server behind a counter filled with sweet goodies. I had a tasty sweet and salty pecan bar. Excellent food, good selection of baked goods plus a few breakfast and lunch options. Full coffee selection. Big bonus for using compostable cups! and they had coconut milk! The turkey feta quiche was delicious. Would highly recommend. So sad that only a few other patrons were here while the McDonalds just up the road has a long line for the drive-thru! read more

I stopped in because I really needed some caffeine on a long distance road trip and this place was SO CUTE! I got a cold brew coffee which was delicious and I couldn't justify a treat at the time but regret not getting one because their display cases were full of gorgeous looking and sizeable treats. We placed an order for 4 dozen cupcakes for a local family reunion. They were $3 APIECE. When we went to pick them up, the clerk wanted to know if we wanted to add a 20% gratuity for the "baker". ???? The total for the 48 (small/medium size) was over $150 with tax. My daughter gave them $175 in cash which brought the price to $3.65 each! The cupcakes were DRY and not even 18 were eaten at the reunion. We had a tough time even giving them away when we cleaned up. When we travel we LOVE to support local businesses, but this was outrageous!!! Safeway would have been so much better at a quarter of the price. I'm not a happy consumer! read more

What a great place to have a cup of coffee with friends or even to have a tasty bite next to a great conversation. Best coffee in town served by outstanding barista's. The owners enjoy to cook and bake for larger crowds and the love they put in their food made from scratch is noticible. It has a great atmosphere in a beautiful historical building in a small town on Main Street. Lander has probably one of the most diverse citizens in any town in Wyoming and the Bake Shop is definitely a place that brings the many diversities together. This wonderful place also promotes local arts by using their wall space for artists to show their works. Next to that they have frequent live performances, open mics and Jam Sessions. read more

This is a great place to find excellent coffee and baked goods. The old turn of the century remodeled landmark ( old time theater) makes for a cool venue and charming vibe. I'm not o coffee expert, however I deem the coffee to be "high grade" and excellent. One of my friends is a former barista and she gives Lander Bake Shop high marks for their brew! Came here two days in a row when visiting town. The breakfast bagels are great, and so are the baked goods. The lemon poppyseed scone was excellent. We tried to go to another place the second morning, but after getting some terrible pre made burritos, we ended up back here. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because they do not offer turkey for their breakfast sandwiches, for those who prefer clean meats. Otherwise, a great place. read more

Aw man...so disappointed! Barista/clerk totally dismissed me. Was looking around town for a birthday cake for my 3 year old. Saw this bake shop on my way home and decided to take a look. The woman ahead of me had ordered and stepped to the side. I went to ask the clerk about cakes we made eye contact and I began to speak then she abruptly turned to the other lady and said "have you been helped?" the lady said yes, but hadn't paid yet. "Well lets take care of that" says the clerk. Didn't excuse herself from helping me...or saying I'll be right with you...nothing...just a freshly baked diss...:( read more

Food is good. Woman that waited on us was less than helpful. Didn't ask if our order was to go, didn't tell us where to get our chips that we paid for, gave us the least amount of info on menu items as possible and was grumpy. Needs customer service training. read more

The only good thing I can say about this place is that the people are nice. The first time I stopped in was their opening weekend to get a cup of coffee. I asked the server what kind of coffee beans they were brewing that day and she had no idea. In fact she had no answers to any of my questions about the coffee. She told me to call the roaster in Jackson hole. Got my cup and went to the coffee thermos to serve myself. In big bold letters, on the thermos, it said "PERU".... that made me chuckle. On to the coffee. It tastes bad, really bad. The only thing I can liken it to is burnt Starbucks coffee. Whatever the roaster is doing to these poor beans is not right. Wont be drinking coffee there again. Second visit. Decided to try the food because lots of people were saying great things about it. My girlfriend and I went together. We got a breakfast bagel and a breakfast burrito to share. The breakfast burrito was mostly tortilla with cheap bacon, not enough egg and salsa that tastes like ketchup. The breakfast bagel was a little small and the flat , round, greasy egg was almost twice the diameter of the bagel, hanging off all edges down to the plate. I was under the impression that the food was supposed to be on the inside of the sandwich... Besides that, there was only one piece of bacon, split in half (not nearly enough) and one slice of American cheese on this sandwich. It was dry and bland and boring. On top of it all, our bill was just a hair under $15... With no beverages. read more

I have been a customer since they opened their doors and can't understand what is going on. Presentation has never been a good thing here but the food was. Lately, the prices have gone up and everything costs extra. No more sandwich and chips. Now chips cost extra. I even saw a big sign that gluten free bread was $1 extra. A dollar! When you order a sandwich, you get a sandwich on a bare plate at a high price. Their baked goods are great but their sandwiches are barely average. I go to Crux and I get a sandwich with homemade kettle chips, a pickle and other extras on the side for 2 -3$ less and no extra changed for anything, even gluten free bread. They let you put your own milk in your coffee. Who else knows how I like it? The Bake Shop is busy. Why are they acting like they have to squeeze every penny twice? Very bad for business. read more

Food is pretty good but definitely overpriced and the person who owns the place can be kind of rude. If a customer has an issue with their order the owner acts like it's the customer's fault that the order was messed up. Otherwise this place is great and baristas are super friendly!
