This was a quick move for us because we were moving from WA state and were trying to find a place before our household goods arrived. The staff is super friendly and can be helpful; Nancy was really nice. That is the extent of positive accolades for this place. We weren't able to see the actual apartment because it hadn't been cleared yet; we saw the model apartment, it's very cute and will fool you! Our apartment was so old and hadn't been updated in years...which was obvious by the layers of paint on the walls (painted over hair), fixtures and extremely old carpet. Carpet edges with nails that poked through them and hurt your feet when going from room to room. The smoke detector literally fell off the ceiling the first day we moved in. I put in a work order, it was never fixed during the year we lived there. My hubby's SUV was broken into within the first week of living there. The toilet(s) constantly ran (they were quite old). The front facing of my stove nearly crushed my feet on Thanksgiving when I was baking. This apartment was a major safety hazard! The icing on the cake was when I went on vacation to FL for the birth of my granddaughter. I was gone two weeks, my car was parked at the front of the complex in front of the main office, next to Blanco (the main road). When I returned my car had a huge dent on the passenger side! It had been in an accident (while parked next to one of the many designated long term tenant parking spots). I reported it to the office and got an "Oh well, hope your insurance will cover that." Obviously, it was time to go! I was spending tons of money in deductibles, allergy shots (due to the really old carpet & uncleaned ventilation system). It was worth it to pay a few hundred more dollars to move into a place that's 10x better not even a mile down the street. And it's gated here, no more worrying about those auto insurance deductibles.**Look elsewhere** read more

I lived at Landera from 2012 - 2017 and it was mostly an OK experience. Let's get down into some details: When we signed the lease in 2012, rent was $695 for a larger 1 bedroom option, which was competitive at the time. It (of course..) went up every year and by the time we moved out in October of 2017, they wanted $815. Which is not very competitive with the surrounding area, you can easily find an apartment with the same sq. ft. for less. Our apartment was.. not updated. But that's not uncommon for the area. I've seen almost every complex in a 1 mile radius from here and they were ALL built in the 60s and aside from fresh coats of paint and sometimes semi-new appliances, they're ugly. However, if that's something you care about, it's absolutely workable with the right décor and switching out a few fixtures. The grounds were my main issue with Landera. Most of the landscaping was rocks which is a huge pain if you have a dog. Also, maybe 15% of residents picked up their dog's poop so when you finally found some grass, it's been used thoroughly. Drainage is also an issue. When it rained more than 2 inches, the entire walk from my building to my car flooded. Rain boots were a life saver but it was still really f'ing annoying. Landera is also right off Blanco and you'll soon come to learn, a lot of a-holes race on Blanco at night. If it's not the obnoxious cars waking you up at midnight, it's probably going to be the obnoxiously loud people eating al fresco at El Mirasol. Bottom line, you don't want an apartment facing Blanco. Mail theft is also prevalent in this area and I had personally witnessed two instances of it happening so keep that in mind as well. The office staff was always friendly to us and whenever I had a maintenance issues, it was fixed promptly. They also kept a log for deliveries which I appreciated. read more

I've lived at Landera apts for over 7 years and thinking of renewing my lease again. It's in a really good school district! The elementary school is rated 9 out of 10. There are lots of people who have lived here 5, 10,15 plus years, my neighbor is going on 18. Proof that management does their job! Things break, it was built in the 1980s, but if you call Marcella, Carlos or Gus will get it fixed in a couple of days. Marcella is nice, but also not a push over. Love this part of San Antonio. The school district is a primary reason for living in this area. I have lived at Landera going on 3 years now. It is a cute little community and the neighbors are really great! The office staff is helpful and the maintenance team gets things done quickly. Well, I couldn't have expected any less. I was a tenant for over six years and had my parents dog over a few times before they tried to charge me hundreds of dollars for his visits. I had to go over the head of Marisela the "manager" to get someone with any common sense. With the agreement the dog doesn't come back, no further ridiculous fees of hundreds of dollars would occur. I immediately put my notice in to vacate. Low and behold, Marisela's grudge was not complete. I took many pictures of the apt after move out and the carpet wasn't new when I moved in but in good as good of condition it could be in after my 6 years and whoever was there before. I'm reading state laws saying after that period of time and normal wear and tear, carpets MUST be replace by the landlord. I also walked through the apt with Carlos the head maintenance man and he laughed as he assured me after the 6 years plus time frame the carpets of course would be replaced. I just got a piece of mail saying I owe $75 for carpet damage pet stains, $75 damage pet treatment, $100 for damage pet violation, $150 damage Pet fee, $150 pet deposit. Not to mention I'm somehow being charged for trash from 3/17/16-4/14/16 Water and sewer from 3/17/16- 4/14/16. I would also like to add my air conditioning was out the whole week I was moving and they couldn't have cared less. Marisela is very polite and smiles at the beginning and becomes someone who could care less about her tenets and becomes unreasonable if you ever have simple human issues. There is a reason this place has only a one star rating. One word! And her name is Marisela. Welll, not to mention the ants and spiders that never got exterminated or the rats and squirrels scratching around in the roof tops. I have lived at Landera for going on 4 years now, I love it here, Nancy and Marisela are very nice and helpful. I personally have never had any problems with bugs and if something goes wrong with the apartment; maintenance is there in a flash, they are wonderful. My husband and I plan to be there till we buy our home. read more

I love living here. It is in the perfect location for me, and at a good renting price. The Leasing Office is always helpful, and I have never had maintenance work as fast as the guys here do. They go above and beyond. I highly recommend the Landera! read more

Horrible place to live, scary, had to call police several times, everyone I know that lives there or has lived there has had some kind of issue with management. We had a huge issue with rats for over two months, it took over three weeks for them to even recognize there was a problem, even with pictures of several in my kitchen. Flies, a snake died under our tub and it took weeks for them to take care of it mean while the home was filled with a rank smell and flies, dog situation out of control one jumped on me and I ended up with 3 surgeries and fake front teeth by the time it was over, the dog had more than enough complaints against it, that it should have been gone before that happened to me. I went to the pool almost everyday, and at one point I did not realize it but the pool was so dirty, I ended up with blisters all over my body.... When we had lived there a few years ago, we had dropped off our rent in the overnight slot in the office. The next day we received a notice that the office was broken in and all the checks and money orders were taken. We traced our money order and it was cashed out in Florida. Long story short - they charged us for late rent and added late rent fees while we were tracking it. They said it was still our responsibility to pay them even though we had and showed them proof. I LOVE living at Landera!!! I've been here since September of last year and I am continuously glad that I live here. Every time I've had any kind of issue Marisella and Nancy, the manager and asst manager have been wonderful! Carlos and Gus the maintenance team always have been here to help me and every time I've needed anything it's ALWAYS in better condition when they leave than it was when I moved in. I will live here until I buy a home of my own. I would recommend Landera to anyone! Thank you to Marisella and all of the Landera staff!! You are so appreciated!! read more
