This is a great way to see some history and get a good walk or bike ride in. I went here a few…read moreweeks ago. It wasn't too crowded even on a sunny day. Parking lot might get full but don't worry. Drive a few feet down the road and there are lots all along the route. I parked close to the visitors center. Small gift shop here which had some pretty cool stuff but I thought it was somewhat expensive. I did get there right in time for a short 30 minute movie. I was so happy I got to watch this. Some real cool lighting and a great story. "Road to Revolution" it was called. I highly recommend this! I then walked along the trail called "Battle road". Went for a few miles. There are great signs along the way to tell you about what historical event happened. I will definitely be back here in the fall when all the trees are colorful for a bike ride.

Meanwhile both of these guys were clearly in the middle of assembling/ servicing bikes but didn't seem to mind taking a minute to help me find what I was looking for. This was huge for me as i've been to other shops in the past and have had the opposite experience. One time the staff of another local shop couldn't be bothered to look up from whatever they were doing to assist me when I was literally there to buy a bike... a nice top of the line gravel bike I wanted for a long time..that experience left me so jaded I took my business elsewhere. Long story long that was not the case with these dudes, and after helping me find the helmet and peddles I needed I learned a bunch about the owner Jake and head mechanic Ed. Both of them local to the area - their stoke and knowledge of the neighboring trail systems was wonderful and they even hooked me up w/ a shop water bottle - I've got a zillion bottles but who doesn't love free swag?? Safe to say I left shop more stoked on riding than when I walked in and fully intend to shop here again in the future. Lastly, the aesthetics were modern and major bonus points for the sick grunge station they had on!

In addition to adjusting my cleats and bike…read moreso everything fits correctly and I'm using the right muscles, he explained a lot about the relevant biomechanics, which was both interesting and helped me know what to keep an eye out for in the future. The bike fit also included in-depth pedaling instruction and Ed picked up some bad habits I had and helped me learn what it feels like to have my center of mass in the right place. I came in experiencing shoulder pain during long rides and after the fit session that's almost completely gone away from the combination of adjustments and instruction. Definitely recommend getting a bike fit with Ed for cyclists of any level.

Off we went on the Cotton Valley Rail Trail for a three hour tour headed to Wolfeboro. Lots of stops and starts along the way as she became more familiar with the bike. I'd recommend a longer ride so you'd have more time in Wolfeboro for lunch, ice cream or exploring the shops. The trail is well maintained and an easy ride. The Aventon bikes were in excellent condition and we had the chance to try a couple of different models. Overall an excellent experience and I highly recommend E-bike Expeditions and look forward to renting from them again.
