I am not sure if it is the change in Administration or what but it is a great change. On last night 2/7/19 we attended Literacy Night and I must say I was very impressed. The Teachers were very engaged and so were the Students and Families that attended. The presentation consisted of the use of graphic organizers and if your group felt the presentation used beautiful language, strong language or persuasive language. There were no right or wrong answers only answers with supporting context. The School should definitely plan more family engaging activities that support academic growth. For the most part the presentation was organized , started on time and ended promptly at 7:00 and provided light refreshments afterwards. I only have 2 critiques. It seems that more Parents attend than what they planned for so there was limited seating. I am not sure if my Son failed to tell us about Literacy Night but I received the invitation the day of the event. But I was able to make arrangements and attend. All the ELA, Reading and Literacy Teachers should've attended to support their actual Students.

The middle school is so impressive…read more I'm blown away everyday at how attentive the teachers and administrators are with the kids. My son has flourished here. He rides the bus to and from school everyday. They have a great system with stops all over the city. Their bus drivers are some of the safest in the country winning multiple awards over the years. It is also a very diverse learning environment earning an A+ on the Niche website. If you're considering private school in the Atlanta area you have much to choose from. I highly recommend Woodward Academy. Call for a tour! UPDATE: We're quarter into the school year of my sons 9th grade. EVEN BETTER THAN MIDDLE SCHOOL! He absolutely loves his school and teachers. They have so much time to finish assignments during the day. I see why Woodward grads are so ready for College. They learn time management early! Love love LOVE this school. (Wish I could've gone here!)

Woodward Academy Lower School (4-6 grades) is not the place to send your child. The administration…read moreis nice, until you complain about the bullying or a teacher. When you complain Mrs Bragg quickly becomes rude and dismissive. They won't honor simple requests like classroom changes or any other suggestions, regardless of the situation. The counselors shouldn't counsel a trash can, definitely not a child. Mrs Lauchlan is pretty good at accomplishing nothing. Mr Lawrence isn't certified and he has the maturity level of a 6th grader. Bottom line: Look at the test scores compared to other private schools. The kids complain about the lunch. The co-curricular and athletic options are good. Your kid will be bullied. Your kids will receive a public school education with perks. Don't waste your money.

Most of the teachers and administrators dont care about the students. The principal is like something you read about in the newspaper and not fit to be anybody's principal or work around anyones kids. I pulled Both my highschoolers from this school and pay for them to go to a private school . They now greatly excel in academics . None of my kids will ever go here again even though this is our assigned highschool . Please, if you are looking for a highschool where your kids can excel and learn life lessons as a teen do not pick this school and honestly you should probably reconsider the county for education .

This school is a diverse group of kids and great teachers and administrators. I have had 2 kids go there, the last one is a Senior. The first one is a Sophomore at a Division 1 college in the honors program. Mr. Smith, the Principal cares more about these kids than any principal I have ever seen. They have teachers who come in early and stay late to help the kids who are having trouble with different subjects. I lived in PTC and my first kid went there to the green school. Drugs, clicks, and entitled brats reigned there. Sandy Creek is a great school with great people. No trouble at all. Yes, its diverse, so is the world. Teaches everyone its not about race, color, religion, or political views. They are Patriots and I am proud to be involved. Brian Siefert

The learning and experiences he got when in person started again was incredible. He thrived in academics and quickly developed his skills in orchestras. My son had a very traumatic experience at this school- a parent's nightmare for a middle schooler…read more His mental health declined due to his experiences at this school. Intimidation, fear, physical assault, and bully tactics caused him unimaginable anxiety and trauma....all which has been thoroughly documented via medical records. Our experience with the teachers, on a whole, were positive however the administrative staff at Flat Rock and some of the administrative staff at the district level ignored serious complaints about bullying/harassment and violation of my son's 504 requirements. This school and DISTRICT refused to acknowledge and remediate a dire need situation to ensure a healthy learning environment for my son; thus leaving my family with no option other than removing him from Fayette Public School District immediately; which is very unfortunate because we are now paying for private school. Decisions were and still are politically motivated and the goal is to "keep the record clean" for Fayette County School District. It's difficult to penetrate to the top, and even then, the web of district connections often interfere with unbiased decision making. Parents (especially those with neuro-atypical learners) PLEASE MONITOR YOUR CHILD'S MENTAL HEALTH and speak out immediately if something is not right.
