I grew up in Leduc, and the Leduc Cinemas was a place where my friends and I used to love to go in the summer. Of course that was several (like 20) years ago. The theater, at that time was dated, and only had two screens. Imagine to my surprise when I went to my old movie theatre haunt, and found that Leduc Cinemas has changed quite a bit. Instead of there being only two screens they have 4 different theatres. And instead of the uncomfortable, small, low-to-the-ground, 80's brown cheap seats the theatre (at least the one I was in) had nice stadium seating, with high back, black vinylish theater seats (with cup holders - didn't have that when I was a kid). Leduc's movie theater isn't the best or most high tech theater, but it is really nice. The seats are comfortable, and the screens are big, but not gigantic (like in some of the cineplexes in Edmonton). One of the best things about Leduc's cinema is the prices. The ticket prices are reasonable too. Regular adult tickets are $10, but if you go on a matinee or Tuesday night it's only $6. Leduc isn't going to show as many movies as theaters in Edmonton can, but they'll show some of the big movies, and there's usually always some family or kid friendly film. They can also show 3D films - I think the admission is like $13 for 3D movies, which is the same price you'd pay for a regular film at Cineplex. Even though it's usually big blockbuster films at the cinema sometimes Leduc will bring in smaller, more independent movies, which is nice. When I was there I went and saw The Grand Seduction, a little Canadian film which was quite funny. And I've found Leduc Cinema never has as many previews and ads before the movie, which is nice. Just know you probably can't show up 15 minutes after the show time and still not miss anything (like you might be able to do at Cineplex)...the movie has likely already started. Normally it is at the concession where people might find there wallets empty pretty quick, but the concession here has really decent prices. I got a popcorn with butter and a pop and it was only about $6 and the popcorn and pop wasn't so huge that I couldn't finish it (as I've found at other theatres). The staff working, at least at the concession, are all young teenagers, but they're quick to get out the orders. The one downside to Leduc's theatre is the parking lot. It's right next to the courthouse and it can get full pretty quickly. Sometimes there is parking across the street at the Alex Arena though. Even though it doesn't show as many movies as some of the big theatre in Edmonton the decent price, comfortable seats, and good service at Leduc Cinemas definitely makes it work the drive for a movie. read more

Leduc Cinemas - Cinema Near Me - Leduc, Alberta

Short of heading into South Edmonton Common, Leduc Cinemas are pretty much your only option for a movie theatre in Leduc and surrounding area. It's no Cineplex, but it's actually not a bad little Cinema. No fast lane here, the way to pay for your tickets is at the cash register as soon as you walk in the door. Don't get any ideas about cherishing a ticket stub either, because your ticket is the piece of paper printed out receipt roll from the register. Sporting four theatres, the Leduc Cinema gets decently recent movies in. The theatres themselves are in pretty good shape too. They've been well maintained after having undergone a reno a good 10 or more years ago. The best part of the cinema experience in Leduc, though, is the 8 different flavours of popcorn seasoning available. That's right, 8 different flavours... and they're all free! So sprinkle some magical dusting on your popcorn, then sit back and enjoy your movie! read more

This was my movie theatre growing up... when you are a teenager with no car and you live in a small town you don't have a lot of options. Back in the day there was only 2 theatres and the feel was always a bit drab and dingy but I didn't care, I just wanted to hang out with my friends. Cut to this past weekend when I was back in town with my boyfriend to spend most of Easter weekend with my parents. We decided to take in the latest superhero movie and saw that they had a matinee going on so to the theatre we went. Walking inside it looks basically the same as it did all those years ago... still a bit shabby, in need of a facelift, but nothing off-putting. Just a bit tired. The big surprise came when we paid for our tickets--two 3D tickets for less than $20! We got a movie and popcorn for literally $20!! It was absolutely nuts. The actual theatre rooms have been renovated (and two more added in the past 10 years, so they have four screens instead of two) and look absolutely lovely inside, on-par with any of the big theatres in Edmonton. Giant leather reclining seats that have arms with cup holders that move up and down. Wide aisles, low stairs, great space between the seats. Comfort at it's finest. The very best part, the thing we were most excited about? Two previews before the movie, that was it. The movie started exactly on time because we didn't have to sit through 25 minutes of previews! It was absolutely fantastic. If you happen to be in Leduc with some time to kill or you don't mind making the quick trip out to see a movie it is absolutely worth your time. The Leduc movie theatre is pretty good! It ha smaller screens and less food and snacks than some theatres would, but it is still pretty good! I think this is a good weekday movie theatre. If you are busy on the weekend and in leduc, this is the one. If you have a free weekend, go to the Cineplex in Edmonton or the one in West Edmonton Mall. The staff is usually nice and movies are usually good quality for audio and visual. A few things though are that not very many movies are in at once, and I don't know about other people, but having butter on the popcorn makes me sick. By the way, if you are reading this while Pitch Perfect 2 is still in theatres, I recommend it to almost anyone! Go see it! read more

Although they just had a huge reno done, the cinema quality is below par. Positives: More leg room, bigger screen, cheap movies, comfier seats Negatives: never has good movies, popcorn tastes sweet. If you enjoy good movies and good popcorn, make the extra drive to Cineplex Odeon in South Edmonton. But if you're just looking for some time to kill, then this wouldn't be a bad place to see a decent movie. read more

My wife and I love to go see movies here, its cheap, the theatres have recently undergone another reno, large seats, digital picture. They have the most popular new releases 3-D and regular, you cant beat the price and I've never been to a sellout even on opening day, but the popcorn!!!! The popcorn is so fresh, they definitely don't skimp out on the butter, a great date spot for a budget. read more
