The Big Dave (and it was big - this so the leftovers container!)

Food was great! Our server was very sweet & attentive. It's an unassuming place - but don't let that sway you. Food was delicious! Hubs even had leftovers. Kids dove in before I remembered to take pictures. IF you are lucky enough to get a cro-nut - DO IT! They melt in your mouth. You can pop in just to purchase donuts at the counter.... And i wished we lived closer to be able to do that!

Food was pretty good in my opinion, good drinks but my sister said her chocolate milk didn't taste very much like chocolate milk. I got the Big Dave was very good, but as the side of potatoes chose the Hash brown, I don't know what I was looking at. It looked weird, and it was horrible. I have had some bad hash browns, but these were really bad. Pancakes were burnt. A good note, tea and donuts were good. Not a long wait, Good place.

    Donuts are fabulous!

Bad food and the waitress manager. The donuts are great but food is inconsistent and potatoes come out cold and dry

The food is good. I always have Brenda wait on me. She's the bomb. She is very attentive. Mary Jo is pretty good too.

Pretty good food. I ordered breakfast and it was a lot of food. Their apple fritters are super huge.

The menu is big, with all the Italian pasta, veal and chicken favorites you could want, but also with an extensive seafood menu, steaks, chops and salads. Station Square is apparently a Youngstown institution as it was celebrating 40 years! The restaurant is incongruously attached to a Super 8 motel, but don't let that throw you. This place is big, but it is well run. The staff is friendly. I sat down and my server appeared promptly and my food came out quickly, even on a busy Friday night. I had the salad of tomatoes and peppers, which is exactly what it was with a little oil and vinegar. Nothing fancy, but good. I had the chicken Parmesan with angel hair pasta. Very good. I finished with a blueberry cheesecake, which was excellent. I also enjoyed a professionally made old fashioned. It all worked for me!

The problem is, the place was packed and is clearly a very popular restaurant here. To start, the service was great! Everyone was super friendly and fairly attentive. Moving on to food. We shared two appetizers, peppers in oil and fried Zucchini flowers. The peppers were ok but had just a low quality olive oil that made them seem greasy. I've had fried zucchini flowers many times growing up in an Italian household but these were the worst I've ever had. They were overstuffed, over battered, and again, greasy! Not sure why they offer this dish when you can't taste the flowers at all as they are overpowered by everything else. Next, I had Chicken Marsala. I've had chicken Marsala all over the world, have cooked it many times, and I absolutely love the dish. This version was unlike any other version I've ever had with the addition of a ton of peppers. The chicken was cooked properly but the sauce was gloppy, didn't taste like Marsala, and seemed like it was cooked by someone who doesn't understand that the best Italian dishes should be simple and not "overhanded". The chicken parmigiana was the best meal out of everything they made but unfortunately the spaghetti it came with had waaaaay too much sauce and the parmigiana cheese (which we had to ask for) seemed like the low quality stuff you can buy in a jar at the supermarket. I guess the overall impression was poor quality Italian food made with average quality ingredients. If you like Olive Garden, then you'll probably be happy here as it felt like this restaurant from the food to the decor is stuck in the early 80s. One other note - the prices were very reasonable but as many Italian places in the US are, they don't understand that the main principle of Italian food is high quality ingredients combined with simplicity.
