While the office itself was professional, I felt the pricing and recommendations here were severely inflated compared to other reputable surgeons. They made me feel so at ease. The day of surgery I was greeted with a wonderful staff at the surgery center. When recovering I was given excellent care as well. I went in for a simple breast implant exchange in February and I ended up having three surgeries with him and had to leave his care in May to go to Baycare wound care because a wound opened up in my breast and he never tried to find the source of why my skin continued to break down. I had a Seroma that developed and he kept telling me I had an infection despite TWO negative cultures. 2 minutes into the care of Dr. Tas at Baycare and he found the seroma and I stopped leaking so much liquid within 24 hours. I am now in debt over $20,000 and have to have a reconstructive surgery by a better plastic surgeon in six months that will cost me $16,000-$30,000. I also have only one implant in because of all of this. It will end up costing me 36k minimum and a year anc a half of my life and he nor his staff cares... at all! I tried to tell him over and over that something was not right, but he spent less than two minutes with me at each appointment and simply did not care. My skin continued to break down, the wound continued to get bigger and I had fluid flowing steadily out of my body, and he still rushed his time with me. I went to Dr.Rieger about two years ago, I was 20 years old at the time. I went to see him about…read moregetting implants because one of my breast never developed so I had uneven breasts. He also told me that my nipples were low and he would need to lift them. I was very comfortable with him so I went to have surgery. He put the gummy bear texture implants under my muscle, prescribed tramadol which is a very weak pain medication, I was in pain the whole time. He put draining tubes in which are very painful! After about three weeks on my right breast which was the smaller one to begin with was in a lot of pain and my body started rejecting some of the stitches, then my incision opened up, and fluid started leaking out, he looked at it and took samples to see if it was infected, it wasn't so he said it would close on its own, after a week it was still open so I went back into surgery, he opened the pocket back up and cleaned it and the implant, well three weeks later I had the same problem. I went to see a infectious disease doctor and he said it looks like my body was rejecting the implant, so I got a second opinion from my local surgeon, which he said I had an exposed implant and small infection, which he would have to remove that day. I emailed Dr. Rieger about what the second surgeon said and sent pictures. I felt all types of emotions, Dr.Rieger said he was out of town and couldn't do anything, so I had the second surgeon remove both implants and waited six months to heal. My second surgeon said when removing the implants that I was very red, bloody, and that my pectoral muscle was completely shredded, which I had no idea! So when I had my new implants put in six months later I did not go back to Rieger, I went with my second surgeon, and because my pectoral muscle was so small he had to put the implants above my muscle, and I didn't have a single problem with my surgery or healing with my new surgeon! I spent almost $15,000 with Dr.Rieger with nothing but problems! My second surgeon only spent $8,000, I would of spent more to get my nipples fixed as well but because I had problems in the past my surgeon wanted to be safe and make sure I healed fine with these implants. I would recommend people not go to Dr.Rieger, if you are looking for a good surgeon go to Lakeland Florida to Dr. Scott Ferguson. He is absolutely amazing!
