That's exactly what I got! They have a full bar separated from the eating section by a lattice wall.... sturdy diner tables with sturdy diner chairs fill the place.... lots of Ascension Parish memorabilia mixed with LSU items hanging on the wall.... Nice menu filled with home cooking and seafood plus burgers and poboys... Prices are reasonable... The specials on 1/23/15 were Shrimp stew served over potato salad or fried catfish plate.... went with the catfish since I hadn't had any in awhile.... It was an excellent choice! Fresh fillets, golden brown, fresh out of the greasel....DELICIOUS! But you gotta have good tartar sauce and they had it, great flavor with a little spice.... it was a great meal!! Service was excellent and the owners were real friendly.... need a quick filling meal then give this place a try.... it's got my recommendation!

She came across as short, unfriendly, and overall not very pleasant. I first ordered a Banana Foster's Martini, but she came back and said they didn't have the ingredients. No problem--I asked for an Espresso Martini instead. A few minutes later, after bringing everyone else's drinks, she returned and simply said they couldn't make that either and asked if I wanted something else. At that point, I just declined. When it was time to order, our table had nine people. She took my husband's order, then went around the table taking everyone else's order. By the time she got back to me, she said, "Okay, is that it?" I had to remind her that she hadn't taken my order yet. I ordered the crab and corn bisque, a salad, and the stuffed catfish with creamed spinach. The salad came out quickly and was very good. Then everyone else at the table received their meals while I only received my bisque. After waiting, I was told my stuffed catfish "didn't come out right" and had to be remade. At that point, I honestly wondered if it was a joke. It wasn't. By the time my entrée arrived, everyone else was nearly finished eating. To the restaurant's credit, they did remove the stuffed catfish from my bill, and I appreciated that. However, the entire experience left me feeling overlooked from start to finish. My biggest suggestion would be for our waitress to work on her customer service. A smile goes a long way. Saying things like "Give me that plate," slamming cups onto the table, and appearing annoyed throughout the meal doesn't create a welcoming dining experience. Hospitality is just as important as the food, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively.

We stopped in here for lunch and ended up with a sampling of what in my opinion is probably the best example of cajun food done right in Houma and for miles around - everything was delicious and the service from Sarah L was outstanding. We started with the Charbroiled Oysters served with toasted french bread, the plump Louisiana oysters were succulent and dipping the french bread in the cajun butter became an obsession, definitely a must do starter - I wasn't leaving here without trying their chicken and sausage gumbo, perfect texture and complex flavors it will make you a believer, my hats off to the chef, definitely authentic - the fried catfish filets and jumbo fried shrimp platters were outstanding although we didn't do it these are the foundation of an amazing po-boy (maybe next time) - all the sides were exceptional from the fried okra and onion rings to my personal favorite the skillet fried potatoes and who could leave without a few beignets served hot covered in powdered sugar - what a meal they should have a place to lay down in the back for a "cajun nap". In my opinion if you craving some authentic cajun dishes you can't go wrong here, the portions are nice and the prices are very reasonable. Our schedule didn't allow us to return as we had planned but will definitely return when we are back in the area...

All food was solid. Seafood gumbo was particularly good. Definitely worth a visit if you are passing through town. For any Midwesterners, you may find the potato salad a little bland. Was expecting a bit more but it was okay. Next time I would skip and get a different side. Most locals seemed to order 1/2 pound of boiled seafood.

We got seated and the server informed us they had no boiled crawfish. I should have taken this as a sign to get up and leave... Between the three of us at the table, we ordered fried oysters, fried alligator bites, fried shrimp and a fried crawfish po-boy along with some fries and onion rings. I took one bite of the alligator bite appetizer and literally said, "that doesn't taste anything like alligator". To make matters worse, my onion rings tasted just like the alligator. How does an onion ring taste like alligator? When I was served my crawfish po-boy, the crawfish had zero seasoning and were the smallest I had ever seen. My meal was very disappointing. My Mom ordered the shrimp plate and found her meal equally bland and remarked, "the slice of toast and the side salad were the best parts". My stepfather ordered, a fried oyster plate in which the oysters were almost non-existent - his meal with all batter & breading. As part of his meal, my stepfather was able to get a side item from the salad bar in which he got "cold slaw". The slaw was unlike anything I had ever seen (or tasted). It was awful. We ate our food, paid our bill, and left. Once in the parking lot, we all agreed that we will never go back and that a zero-star review is warranted. We expected good Cajun food and only got disappointed.

I never leave reviews but it was enough for me to share. We love seasoning and spicy food, but the fried fish and oysters were overly salty and the oysters had a bad after taste like they were possibly going bad. I got the Shrimp Platter and was excited about the seafood augratin but when it came out I asked where the augratin was and the waitress pointed to a tiny plastic condiment container and said that was it (literally 2 spoonfuls). It was okay, but nothing I'd order again. It certainly didn't hold a candle to Don's Seafood. There was only one waitress that we saw working and she said she was new. We had to wait long periods of time to get the attention of the waitress for refills and then when the kids ball team came in, we knew our service would only get worse with only one waitress. Very disappointed. Come on Landry's, you've got to get better. We were expecting good Cajun food and only got disappointment.
