Setting the tone are owners Jeff and Susan, absolute gems (no pun intended) who make one feel at home and take ample time with each shopper, even when the store is bustling. I never fail to receive compliments on the jewelry I have purchased there. I have also brought in old pieces in desperate need of updating. I came to get an adjustment to the necklace I planned to wear for my wedding on a Monday, 5 days before my wedding. It had 3 extenders, but at the shortest length - 18" - it was still too long. I asked that the whole section of 3 extenders get moved up to be shorter. We agreed on the length I would like the shortest extender in the chain to be - 15". I explained that this would be perfect, as I could then have the options of the extender lengths - 15", 16", 17". I would not have a chance to try it on with my dress before the wedding, so I needed these options as I did not know what length would look best. I explained all this to the associate. On Thursday, I picked up the necklace and they had not done what I asked. They had simply added one extender at 15". This meant my options were 15" (very short) or 18", 19", 20" (all too long). I did not have the in between options I asked for. The associate was defensive and said she had done what I asked for and that I hadn't communicated well. I had talked to her for quite a while about needing the length options - she just wasn't listening it seems. She said they would redo it, but I would have to pay both times. I agreed because I needed the necklace for my wedding in two days, but was bothered she wouldn't admit the error and have it redone under the original charges. On Saturday - the day of my wedding - I was getting my hair and makeup done nearby and planned to pick it up. I got a message around 11am saying they didn't have the correction done. We picked it up and they insisted on charging $48 for the (incorrect) change they had originally made. I wore the necklace for my wedding at a different length than I wanted, and now it still needs to be adjusted the way I asked for, so as to have 3 shorter length options for the future. So I will have to take it to a different jeweler and pay to have Landsberg's work corrected. I assume that if a business is doing work related to a wedding, they will put care into it. That was not my experience. Between the error and the defensiveness, I would not recommend this place. If you decide to use their services, I suggest you draw out what you're looking for. read more

Bait and switch ear piercing pricing - beware! We visited this location for an ear piercing after reviewing the website where instructions and pricing were clearly listed. Upon arrival at our appointment time, the staff was clearly put out to have to assist us with the ear piercing. We received no details about the earrings available (are they gold, stainless steel, etc? - answer "I don't know") or advice as to sizing on the second hole in the ear (answer - "whichever one you like"). When we finally selected our earrings, we were told to pay $135 plus tax for the earrings and piercing, which was $50 more than the already egregious $85 listed on their website. We showed them their website and the annoyed lady said "I'm sure she'll honor the price on the website and walked away." An even more annoyed lady then came out and tried to pierce my daughters ears without further discussion. When I highlighted that we had a price issue, she said "I don't care what it says on the website, but thanks for letting us know. Our price is $135." We passed, and went to the Piercing Pagoda at the Westchester, where for the bargain price of $75, we received 14K GOLD (as opposed to the nondescript earrings offered here) as well as very attentive service by a caring person who spent nearly 30 minutes consulting with my daughter about the earring choices, including which would be most suitable for her situation, and together they decided upon appropriate spacing. She's thrilled with the service at the Piercing Pagoda at the Westchester and I'm quite glad we left Landsberg. read more

So I came to Landberg jewelers nervous and hesitant about the whole buying an engagement ring; however once I walking into the store, I was greeted by two or three friendly ladies with smiles. There wasn't a sense of pressure to buy anything. Pleasant conversation with the educated staff made me feel like I was in the right place. I had the pleasure of dealing directly with the owners Jon and Jeff, who are brothers They were approachable and patient throught out the process. In about 2 weeks time, we were able to find a stunning cushion cut diamond that was perfect for my fiance. I have to say, they made it really enjoyable and an event relish. I entered the store and three employees were entirely maskless. Two of them put masks on around a minute after entering. The third didn't. And putting a mask on only after a customer enters is clearly unsafe, as the employees had been breathing maskless for some time before. The store is obviously reckless with customer safety. I have had only bad experiences with this jeweler. First, I had a ring fixed and the jeweler insisted that I make it smaller. I told him that I have large knuckles, but he was insistent, So they resized the ring and I could not keep it on my finger. When I went back to get it enlarged, they told me to come back for it in a month. When I came back, they had still not correctly resized the ring--it would now not even fit over my knuckle. I then brought them a broken necklace that we had purchased 5 years ago in Turkey. They repaired it, and one day later, it broke again while I was sitting at my desk. I brought it in again, and they fixed it again; this time, I wore it while walking around NYC, and it fell off and is now gone. Throughout these incidents, they were unreliable about getting back to me to let me know when a repair was done. When I would call to find out if the item had been fixed they could not find a record of the requested work, and it would take some time (and a call back) to determine that the work was completed. Don't waste your time on these folks. I gave them more opportunities to win my trust than they deserved, and now my necklace from Turkey is gone for good. read more

I cannot say enough about Landsberg Jewlers. Per usual, I waited until the last minute to get my girlfriend an anniversary gift, an eternity ring that she's had her heart set on for months, and needless to say she is hapily wearing it today. I live in Connecticut, and normally go to their Rye Brook store, but I work in Manhattan, so their 47th street location was much more convenient. I called Landsberg frantically the day before I needed the ring, and of course they were able to call in the order and have it delivered next day for me to pick up. Landsberg is a family run business, and the service is exactly what you'd expect. The staff is welcoming and accomodating, always willing to lend their professional advice without just pushing the priciest piece. You can always catch a member of the family personally making sure service is top notch. I highly recommend Landsberg Jewlers for any and all occasions, with such great selectons and amazing staff, you can't beat them. read more

Some pieces came from the displays and some were truly beautiful designs that were created especially for me by the great artists there. Seven years ago, I bought a 35th anniversary ring for my wife. It included emeralds, the gemstone applicable to that milestone. By their nature, emeralds do not lend themselves to the wear and tear taken by a ring; and, periodically, for various reasons, one would get damaged or fall out. In every instance, Landsberg Jewelers responded with care and concern, replacing the emerald at no charge. When it became clear that this was going to be a never ending process, they graciously, and again at no charge, remade the entire ring in a setting that we and they believe will eliminate the problem -- and my wife got a lovely new ring for our 42nd anniversary :-) Who could ask for anything more? He has offered me a full refund on what I paid for the repair, and has also offered to repair this watch at any time in the future for as long as I own the watch.
