I shop online. So let me share. I purchased 10 items from Nordstrom. All shipments included a…read morereturn label. It is a pain free process. I purchased from Soma different items and paid with PayPal. Before the final click completing the purchase Soma tells you clearly returns for items purchased online with PayPal must be returned by mail. Perfect I understand before I complete the transaction my return options. Now onto Loft. I purchased three items online. All beach coverups. I then went to return all three. I attempt to use the online system however Loft has designed the online return procedures to make it as difficult as possible. But I note it will cost me $ 7.95 to return by mail and free to go to the store. Once in the store I deliver my unworn items with tags in the original packages. I am told swimwear cannot be returned in the store. I am forced then to pay the return fee and once again try to navigate a deceptive system designed to frustrate a consumer and thus the Return is never complete. That's my first issue. When you are shopping on line it is not made even remotely clear the return policy. Frankly you have to go to three areas of the website to see what the return policy is on swimwear. On the receipt finding the policy at the bottom in the smallest font possible again hides the policy. I find this appalling. Surely all retailers have their own policy. However consumers should be able to understand the policy in a clear openly designed system. I will pay the return costs. I will never shop at Loft, Ann Taylor or any of their companies again. Here I come Nordstrom.

This was my second attempt at returning a defective pair of boots. I had first tried at the store I…read morepurchased them from in Towson. They were rude and disrespectful to my situation. They offered me $9.99 for a pair of boots that retail at $99.99. Thankfully, the manager at this White Marsh location who's name is Tanisha was very polite and understanding of my situation. She explained why the other location was just offering the $10. But we agreed that how the situation was handled could have been better. She offered to make it right within her authorization. Unfortunately, it's the end of boot season and DSW in general stocks very few women's size 10 anything. So I was unable to find a comparable exchange. However, because of her respect for me and her compassion towards the situation, I did purchase a pair of shoes outright. I had originally been frequenting this location just because I enjoy the shopping center it's in. I had only gone to Towson the one time because it's closer to me. But I will never set foot in the Towson location again and will continue to go to White Marsh where I am respected and appreciated as their customer. Thank you Tanisha and team. After striking out at Marshall's yesterday, we decided to check out Eastpoint mall today, mainly JC Penney. I would bet this store has been here since they built this mall and it looks like it. There's Clearance and construction throughout the store, on both floors. I can't tell if they're getting a make-over or if they are parring down, but it's not a good look. I'm pretty sure we used a freight elevator. We would have never found it unless the employee walked us there. There's a fine selection of clothing, all usually on sale. It's back-to-school time, and I'm massively jealous that the girls have the cutest clothes, while women are supposed to dress like they've been attacked by Jackson Pollock or are going camo in a splatterpaint room. I may be almost 50 but I still have some decent curves I'd like to show off. We found a great selection of ladies panties upstairs. I refuse to shop at Victoria's Secret... the old joke is right, her secret is that she's not making clothing for curvy girls. The mens underwear is downstairs. And there are only two registers throughout the entire store. One upstairs. One downstairs. I like Penney's. They're a half step above Kmart, but still give you that oldskool mall shopping experience.

And it is not cheap, but most of the items are high quality; a few items are priced reasonably; and quite a few pieces are on the eclectic and artistic side. All very nice. I would easily give this store four or five stars but at times they have issues with people of color, specifically Black people, shopping there. The third time I was there the clerk followed me around that small space (it is so small she could see me by just standing in one place and pivoting). She behaved as if I was going to steal something, and it was obvious and certainly not customer friendly. Her attitude suggested that she didn't think I could afford anything in the store, and she even rattled off the prices out loud so I would know how much an item was--all for the other patrons to hear as well. She didn't know I had spent $500 during my first visit; and $300 on my second visit (these amounts are miniscule compared to what a lot of women spend in this store). Imagine her surprise and then immediate deference when I bought a $750 leather jacket and a few other items. Then when her computer found that I was a repeat customer she lavished me with false praise. However, since then I have not gone back to shop there. Life is much too precious to spend hard earned money at stores where you are treated like they don't want you there; stores that hire people with deep-seated racial biases or they simply condone such behavior among the other customers or the staff. It is a shame though, I really liked this store. But these days I only go and spend money where all people are treated with genuine respect.
