So it's an appointment only business and that is encouraged!!!!! They do accept walk in service although that's a gamble and unless your picking up grab & go gear, from mid October on, your gonna be hard-pressed to get assistance. I had an appointment today and the place was bustling. They have plenty of staff although I saw signs for help everywhere. So here's my take, there aren't many ski shops anymore or like there was say, 40 years ago. Baltimore Ski Warehouse (BSW) is pretty central and they do offer both used and new equipment. There prices on used equipment are a tad high vs. eBay or liquidation sites. With that said, just like a lot of shopping, ski gear also has gone online and it's equally affordable to BSW. When you buy online, it's a gamble because what important is the fit! Some sales are final sales or a PITA to return. BSW affords you the fit and will work with you until you're happy. That's called connivence and you pay a little extra for convenience just like you do for milk and bread at the big gas stations. Today, I tried of 4 brands of boots and purchased a pair and left happy despite paying a little more. BSW, guaranteed me a good fit or I can return the used boots for another pair of used boots within their huge selection. Folks were nice and again, it was busy so MAKE AN APPOINTMENT online. This was such a great experience. We were able to make an appointment in advance so we got seen right away. Our assistant was so friendly and knowledgeable. He let us take our time and try on multiple boots to make sure they were the right choice. Usually the boots/ ski fit test takes five days but they were able to do it right away once we said we needed them by the weekend so we didn't have to make an extra trip. Coming here is always easy and has a great selection. You never feel rushed or stupid for asking questions. Brock and Adam were awesome and so patient. I had bought a new board for this season and unfortunately had some decent damage done to it. I originally sent it somewhere else to get fixed but it took over a week & it was not a complete fix. When I took it to the technician was very informative on what was wrong & how he was going to fix it with a quick two day turn around. I usually go here to get my board waxed & some equipment (boots, goggles, helmet). Everyone in the store all have a good knowledge for any beginner's rather it's skiing or snowboarding. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I planned to rent for my ski vacation in Utah, but quickly realized that the price of buying used boots/skis was about equal to the cost of renting for just five days. They also have an incredibly generous policy where you can trade in boots and skis for another pair. If the one you buy don't work out so it seemed like a pretty low risk proposition to try to buy my skis and boots. This place is simply the class act. They helped fit me in a boot that fit perfectly. It was wonderful to have my ski and boot picked out before the trip because I knew that I had something that fit. The people in the store are extremely knowledgeable about boots and skis. It's hard to believe that the people here could be as knowledgeable as they are given that we're not in the Rockies. I bought boots and used skis and had the crazy idea of having them perform a binding check and picking the skis up at 10 AM before an 11:30 flight at BWI. Sure enough, when I strolled into the store at around 10 AM they had opened early for me and had my skis waiting out front with my name on them. You just don't find this kind of service in stores anymore. Prices were competitive with what you would find online; but I would have paid a lot more just for the service. My wife bought some skis here site unseen, and when she showed up, they had for free upgraded her skis because of the conditions for where we were going. I personally would recommend the store over even some of the best ski stores in Utah which was my destination on this trip. To anyone who bothered reading this full review, I would say please give this place a look... it's important that we support local exceptional businesses like this unless we want to only be able to purchase things on Amazon. read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and they seem to have a good selection of equipment but the gear is VERY overpriced and they don't accept returns (only exchanges for credit). Do your research ahead of time to make sure you're getting a decent deal. They do offer certain services as part of your purchase (e.g., lifetime sharpening and waxing) but that doesn't outweigh the difference in price in my opinion. read more

Absolutely love this place. After moving back from Germany and after my kids and wife learned to ski, went here to get everyone equipped. Couldn't be happier with the attention paid by employees to the customers, efforts by them to meet needs and requirements vs trying to just sell as much as possible to suckers. Always appreciate their expertise in getting the right equipment matched with each of us. Always appreciate the time spent, with no sense of rushing through to the next customer. Great gear, great crew - whether you're a newb or an old hand. I don't know if Dan is an/the owner or just a manager, but he's also always been on point every time we've visited. Pro: knowledgeable staff, variety of items, fitting/dressing room, clean environment, relaxing atmosphere. Con: price, small parking lot, no return but exchange. Got an upcoming ski event with the family so I was looking for a good ski store to shop at. I found this establishment on yelp with good rating so I made an appointment to come have my ski boot fitted. My staff person was Jack and he seem very knowledgeable when helping to find a ski boot for me. I wished that he ask if it was my first time skiing because he kind of assume like I knew what was going on but it was actually my first time going skiing. After find a ski boot that fitted I look around for some pants, jacket, skis, mask, glove, poles, and goggle. They have a small parking lot so parking could be an issue. Another con is the cost of the items but it could be a long investment if you plan to ski or snowboarding for a long time. All in all, if you are looking for a place that know about skiing and snowboarding equipment then this place is a good place to start. read more

Only had used and cheap single boa boots, not any top brands new (Did NOT carry: Burton, 32, K2, DC). (2) Overpriced used boots. Were selling heavily used Burton Concords for $250. These boots were in production from 2015-2018 with an MSRP of $330 new. Incredibly overpriced, in fact these are selling used on eBay for ~$80. (3) Service was good. You get your own employee to help try on boots. They don't pressure you to buy and don't rush you. I would look elsewhere for snowboard gear. read more

Awesome Experience! I entered and was immediately greeted by a gentleman behind the front counter. He asked how could he help? I told him I was looking, but not sure, I was ready to buy Skis, boots, and poles. I had just come from skiing early in the week and did not want to rent anymore. He called an associate from the back and put me in one of the customer booths. The salesman (Shawn) appeared promptly and was very professional, technical, and appeared to really want me to understand all the information he was providing. His explanation from boots to skis was better than I have ever found online. When we skied twice and his feet were hurting, he brought the boots back with the intention of exchanging. The sales guy explained how they wear on your feet, drilled out part of the toe, and presto - a perfect fit! Their selection is fantastic. We just came back after several years to outfit two college-age kids with an updated full set of ski gear and snowboard. Glad we made an appointment, since there were lots of walk-ins who clearly were not getting the quality fitting service and advice that we got. Nate helped us and was very knowledgeable in both skiing and riding; he got us fully set up with a mix of mostly used and some new equipment. BSW was recommended to us by a family clan of avid skiers. My son and I needed to be outfitted and were encouraged to visit BSW before buying new or a used package online (what are you really getting / what may be wrong that isn't seen?). With a growing teen and myself (not planning to fly down the slopes but rather enjoy a nice controlled run) we wanted a pair into which he would get a couple of seasons before having to switch up. I can't say enough about the customer service. Dan (manager) met us at the door and immediately heard our needs and made suggestions before we were introduced to Noah. Together they managed to find us the best packages that met our wants but more importantly our needs. The staff were aHmazing and the turn around for our bindings will have us on the slopes in a few days. It's a busy place but so organized and you are greeted immediately and "triaged" lol. In what we thought would be loooong afternoon we ended up having fun, learning a lot, and feeling that we were given the best in authentic, knowledgeable customer service. Amazing. I came with my husband to get him some new snowboard boots and we came out with boots, a fully set up board, a new ski jacket, and new ski pants! They were so organized and we felt so safe shopping there because they restrict shopping to appointment only. As soon as we checked in we were brought to this "booth" where someone greeted us to ask what we needed and then they came and brought options and gave advice on fit. We then were able to browse coats and pants and they were extremely reasonably priced. We also brought his board and bindings that had not been set up yet so they were able to find spare parts needed to get everything together and assembled the board free of charge. Everyone was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable as well. I came during peak season so I imagine it will be even better off season! Free wax & sharpening for life! Immediately greeted by all of the young employees working there as we entered the store. I'm a skier but, I'll be honest, the Olympics Snowboard Slopestyle in Sochi just peaked my interest in snowboarding even more. Decided that if I wanted to finally learn it, I might as well purchase a board, forcing me to get my money's worth. But I didn't want to buy brand new. This place was perfect for what I was looking for. The young lady helping me was very informative & was able to find me some decent boots & a board in no time. I walked out with a Burton board, Burton boots, & Burton bindings for $200. They also offer a military discount of 5% for active duty members! Take advantage :) They start out by finding you the boots, which are a flat rate of $129 for used (no matter if one pair is in better shape than the next). That price includes used bindings as well. $45 more for new bindings. They do have new boots, but those prices vary. My husband didn't have as much luck as I did, unfortunately. He wears a very popular size boot (10.5) & they didn't have any. They said they definitely will have more during the off-season. I would definitely recommend this place if you find yourself hitting the slopes several times a season. Having your gear versus renting it each time, will save you a ton of money. read more

This shop does a great job with service and delivery on affordable used ski equipment and new apparel. While it can get busy and cause a wait (especially on a Saturday in season) once you're assigned a salesperson you have their full attention and support. Their approach to outfitting is pragmatic and insightful- not pushy at all. We just needed some gear to get us out of renting and ski locally so this was a great fit. They keep a smaller stock in the showroom but I'm sure if you know what you're looking for they would dive into the back stock to see if they can accommodate. They have some lesser known brands for jackets and pants but of good quality and affordable. We'll be coming back to keep the kids and parents on the slopes. read more

I brought my three kids (ages 12,9, and 5) to get set up with skis and boots; Alexis was right on time to help us for our appointment. She was wonderful and patient with all three kids, was sure to check in with me on prices/options/skill level throughout the appointment, and just did a wonderful job. My oldest son had a difficult time finding boots that fit just right, and Alexis did not get frustrated or ask him to compromise. They pulled in another sales associate to assist, tried to alter insoles and linings, and in all my son likely tried on at least 10 pair of boots before he found a PERFECT pair! Easily the best experience I've had out of all my years of buying anything really. Their staff is beyond helpful with helping you find what you need, super patient and have great attitudes. They have all your basic needs covered and more. My experience: I was greeted with the front door being opened by a staff member as if they'd been waiting for my arrival. After entering, I was greeted by another employee who asked what we were looking for, (my usual response to what I'm looking for gets followed by a point in the right direction and General areas) but the person helping us out, (Chris is my best guess of the fellows name was) helped us out on our shopping list of supplies needed for our upcoming snowboarding trip. I wasn't super knowledgeable on the specifics of what I needed, whether it was gloves or mittens, or what color of each item I wanted, but the person who helped me out was super patient with my indecisiveness, comical and going above and beyond to look in the back stock or even just having knowledgeable explanations for what I needed and making sure it was a good fit. I have taken my daughter to Baltimore Ski Warehouse the last 8 years. Every year, it is a pleasant experience that leaves my wallet only slightly lighter. Sometimes I need to trade in and get bigger equipment, sometimes only check the bindings. Edge sharpening and waxing is free! Either way, the bill is amazingly low.
