Good folks, had just what I needed. Fellas took my parts off in the rain and made sure I had everything, right down to the original washers to go back on my 89 bayliner ciera with the omc cobra ,emblems and all. Steve is a awesome guy and so is his employees. We have purchased a all aluminum trailer, prop and trim lifts from him so far. Pretty much just drive down there and it's out there somewhere. The boat pictures you find online are NOTHING like what you will find on their property. This is a JUNK YARD. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. The owner sat in his office five minutes before helping us then required us to sign a waiver just to walk on their property. Once we began attempting to locate the boat with one of the employees, I realized why we had to sign a waiver. This place is a junk yard and there are so many dangerous items throughout the property. Broken props, metal pieces, sharp objects were only a few of the obstacles we had to avoid. When we finally found the boat, the two engines that were shown in the website photo had been stripped off the boat. It was in horrible shape and not in "lake ready" shape as described on the website. The boat wasn't even on a trailer as shown on the website. The owner told us that it just needed to be washed. Excuse me- NO! That boat needed a huge overhaul, engines, wax, new everything! A boat wash was not going to fix BROKE DOWN! Do yourself a favor and listen to the previous reviews. before driving an hour and a half to this place we called and were told they had the parts we needed for a boat trailer. Arriving there we were told basically "good luck." The owner of this place would not help other than to run around and frantically look for a box with lugs that he couldn't find. I understand that it's a salvage yard so we went and looked for ourselves. we found a rusted down trailer that had the lugs that we needed. Asked the owner if we could take them and was told that us asking for the lugs off of that trailer was like him asking for the ones on my car. this man doesn't want business, unless you're buying a boat. And if you've been there you wouldn't want to buy one of them boats. WASTE OF TIME. The one star is for the young man who at least helped us look. read more

Well I purchased a boat from there to have a motor installed. it started with a trade of my old boat 1000 dollar credit. Found a boat put xtra 400 dollars cash down to start on the boat. Told them no hurry for next couple of weeks. month later they still have not finished my boat and have stated I needed for mothers day. Had to put off my new wrap for the boat and upholstery. I told them give me my boat and they will not give it to me til it is up to par. I am more than livid. 4100 dollars for a boat they have not done anything with. It's important to recognize the difference between a new boat dealer and a used boat liquidator. Having a realistic expectation of what you'll find here will save you any unpleasant surprises or disappointments. I was searching online for a good beginner sloop and fell in live with the Catalina 22. I came across this company's website in my search and saw that they had 4 or 5 ranging from $2500-$5800, which was perfect for my budget. The one I was most interested in had 87 pictures posted online with about every view imaginable (before cleanup and after). Since the lot was 60 miles from me, I was glad to get such a comprehensive look at the boat before making the trip. I emailed them and received a response the same day from Tiffany. We made a trip out there to walk around and look around. We got eaten alive by Mosquitos because of all the recent rain and all the cockpits that had standing water in them. Welcome to Georgia! Didn't make any decisions that day but got a good feel for what was available. A few days later, I noticed the price was reduced. I talked to Shane who told me they were going to pave the lot and wanted to clear some of the inventory. The price was perfect for the condition of the boat now. We put a 2% deposit down over the phone and made another trip out a few days later. On our second trip we came a bit more prepared with umbrellas, bug repellant and a pickup truck to tow. I spent hours looking at the photos and already knew the condition of the boat. Took a quick look around when we got there to make sure the hatches and pop top worked correctly, found the rudder down below and inspected the trailer to make sure she was ready for the highway. She was dirty, so we wiped her down in spots to see how stubborn the dirt would be and could see she was still a beauty underneath a light film. Brian (I think) even helped us make sure the mast was lashed well for transport and helped us hook her up to the truck. There were no surprises in check out, no sneaky fees, and everything about the boat matched the detailed online description. Off we went! When we got her to dry storage we did find a couple surprises though. We found out she had not only her mainsail and jib, but a genoa, a spinnaker and a wind scoop. Extra bonus! We also discover the trailer lights are fairly new and we got the extendable trailer which makes it easier to launch since she needs a lot of water to come off the trailer with a solid cast iron swing keel under her. The only disappointment we found was that her boom was missing, but we didn't feel this was the seller's fault since they gave us all the time we wanted to crawl around and check everything. They even held umbrellas over our heads as we climbed around and inspected. I'm new to sailing and just didn't notice it wasn't there in the mix of all the stuff stored down below. I've already located a couple used booms from parted out Catalina 22's or I can buy a brand new one for $350. Just not that big a deal for me. All in all, I would absolutely recommend Lanier Marine to someone looking for a project boat, or light work restoration. If you're new to boats, bring a marine surveyor or experienced boater with you to inspect the boat thoroughly. If your looking for a brand new shiny boat, though, this isn't the place for you. I think with the nearly ready to sail condition (minor work needed), extendable trailer, and extra sails, I got a fantastic deal based on similar condition and age of the same model I've seen from the Catalina 22 National Association. If I'm ever looking for another project after this one, I'll probably look here first. Note: I have 4 stars rather than 5 because of the gravel lot, which they intend to pave soon, and the Mosquitos. Our first trip there ended quickly once we hit our tolerance for mosquito bites. But bring a can of Off and you'll be fine. read more

I bought my boat from them earlier this year, and I was very happy with the quality of service received. When I first arrived, I was greeted kindly by the staff and they helped me reach a decision on the boat I wanted. ( I should add, it really is amazing how many they have!) They checked over and inspected everything, then demo'd the boat for me. While we were on the demo, any questions I had were answered professionally and thoroughly. I .agree with the above statments....They are thiefs and liars!!! We bought a Chapparal from out of state that looked impecable online. When it was delivered it was a filthy mess and the boat didn't even run/ they agreed for us to take it to our local mecanic and they would pay to fix it and it was on speeker for the mechanic to hear. It cost $600.00 to fix but now they refuse to pay. Everytime we call they treat us like dirt and call us names and Shane the owner is the worst.. LML Bought a boat from them back in 2008. They let me pay for it over time and billed my debit card every month according to a written agreement that we both held a copy of. The gymnastics started after the boat was paid for. I had been diagnosed with a heart condition and my doctor told me to "not do anything that would raise my heart rate until we get this sorted out.". I called LML and told them the situation and would they be willing to help me re-sell the boat? "Of course". Well, Shane called me a few times and gave me a lot of song & dance. He is a gifted BS'er and likes to tell back-stories on buyers/sellers. He told me this one story about a Japanese fellow who "bought a lot of boats" over the years and would "restore them and give them to his kids". The latest was my Endeavour 32. They were having trouble getting the engine un-seized and pulled the starter out to rectify that situation. He said, "the best the buyer will go is $3500" which REALLY meant that he would sell the boat for what I paid ($5500) and pocket the difference. Nothing in writing, you see. That's to his advantage. I'm 8 hours away in SC. Well, after some attempts by Shane to sell the boat, I was given the all-clear by my doc to resume work that would cause my heart rate to elevate. I called a transporter to go get the boat. The transporter informed me they had had dealing with Shane before and the best way to do it was to let them show up at LML and then call them. I did so and Shane pulled his shenanigans. He had told me while I was trying to sell the boat to "not worry about storage fees". Now that the plan had changed, he demanded several hundred dollars before he'd let the boat leave the yard. I negotiated and somehow came to an agreeable price. I still didn't like it. I made sure the transporters (great guys) got the paperwork (title, any related docs, etc) from them before they left. The boat did arrive later that day....actually at night and is in its boat stands being restored. Which leads me to my next subject. Shane has an Ericson 25 on his website for $2900. I called about it a few weeks ago. The lady on the phone said, "I think that boat is sold....wait...let me check. Yes, that boat is DEFINITELY sold." I said, "OK, thanks." and figured that was it. Well, Browsing the internet a week ago, I see it's still for sale and for $2900. So I called again and asked if it was sold or not. I spoke the lady again and she said, "Hang on a minute." Then Shane got on the phone. "See....here's the deal with that boat. Uh...see....the guy who owns it has cancer and he's not sure if he wants to sell it or not...uh...so...we've got it listed and....uh...well....if we approach him with a nice number....uh...maybe he'll go ahead and sell it but we don't want to uh....make it seem like we're pushing him out of his boat...uh...y'see." Not buying the schtick, I said, "I'll go no higher than $3500". "No higher than "$3500?", he replied. "That's it." "Well...ok...I have your number...uh....what's your name?" "Todd." "Oh, yeah, you said that. Well, I'll see what he says and I'll call you later this week" He hasn't called which is no surprise because he wants to see how "desperately" I want the boat. I have other boats. I just like the Ericson 25. Don't need it and it's a great price but it's also a lie. A LIE. His bait is to put it online for a stupid low price and suck people into negotiations with him holding the cards if he thinks he's got a live one. Typical slimy type who "plays" people and loves to think he's getting the better of them. It's a big game to him but he doesn't realize that three times as many people walk away from him as buy a boat. Where he learned how to behave this way is a mystery but I don't care. It's still on the website for $2,900. Either that's the price or it's not. If it's not then he needs to say so. Even used car dealers who post the prices of their vehicles online stick to them. This guy thinks that a price is a variable and wants to play with you to see if you really want it and then if he knows you really do...he'll come up with some mythological tale about the seller having cancer in order to play on your heartstrings to get more money out of you. The best thing you can do is show up at his yard in tattered jeans in an old worn out vehicle and bring cash and pick out a boat and wave the cash in his face because, like all salesmen, he can't resist the smell of money. If you show up in a nice shiny truck with a nice shiny trailer and well-dressed with a decent watch, he'll play you like you're made of money and if he thinks he can get more, he'll hold out. The posted prices on his boats (many of which have been there for over seven years since I first found his website)mean nothing. The positive reviews here are most likely fabrications in order to further muddy the waters. read more

I have bought a pontoon boat and a 19 foot center console from this business and have been buying parts since the late nineties from them. I upgraded both the boats with electronics, carpet and things I wanted. This is the only company that provides this service in the state that I know of that can save you thousands of dollars. Keep this in mind when you are looking for parts, boat motors or a fixer upper boat. If you want to spend much more go to a marina and buy you a new boat if you can afford it, but if you are retired like me and are a little mechanically inclined you can get on the water and save a lot of money. I eventually sold both the boats I bought at Lanier Marine Liquidators for double or more the amount I paid for them. At present I am looking to buy another Mercury motor form there. Have the employee crank the motors for you and acquaint you with the operation of the boats and buy with confidence. I received nothing for this review. Do not go if you are expecting a professional experience. I called and was told they would have my part. When I arrived I waited 30 minutes before anyone even acknowledged I was standing there. Not to mention there is no where to sit and the "office" looks no different then the junk yard itself. After someone finally asked what i needed i sat around for two hours waiting for my part. I was finally told as they were closing that they would have to pull apart a lower unit and get my part but that would be another hour. I left empty handed. The next morning I called Shane the owner and asked if he would be able to get the part. He told me sure and he'd call me back once it was pulled. I have them a week and tried calling back. Now he will not return my call. I previously just purchased a rebuilt engine from him which he called me everyday trying to sell me one. I guess he decides what he wants to sell. If he didn't want to take the time on my part all he had to do is say so. Instead I was getting excuses of why it's taking so long like inspectors there and them having to clean up, or something going on at it his personal home. It's a business, those things should not effect your customers. I'm surprised the inspector didn't close the crap hole down. I would not waste my time ever again with them. You get what you pay for, they have some good running boats but lots of parts boats where I have gotten parts much cheaper than the dealer. I hope people read this and save theirselves the trouble I went through. All the pictures on their website have been altered. After going there and seeing the boat I was going to purchase it was nothing at all like the picture. They were absolutely the worst place I have ever done business with. I purchased a boat on layaway and the day I went to pick it up it was not working they said it was taking on water. They said to get a hotel which they would reimburse due to the fact I had just driven 5 hrs to get there and that they would get another boat. Well then after I got a hotel they said to go home and come back another week and they would have something ready. I went home without ever getting reimbursed. and hadn't heard anything in over 3 days. I called and the guy said he would do a refund but the company didn't have the money right now. When asked when they would have the money I was told I'll get my money when the courts say I can and then hung up on. Well I filed a case with my debit card company and got the money back. It was such a nightmare dealing with them. I really hope no one else will have to go through that. They had the worst customer service and horrible attitudes. I have both bought and sold boats throught LML over the years and have not found my situation to be as this last review stated. I know the boats I've sold through them were good boats and I sold them through a broker to get better exposure. It worked. The boats I bought were used of course and I got good deals on them. They needed work and I knew that before I got them. I'm surprised how many people buy cheap boats for little money then complain that it cost money to fix them up. They have an inspection time for you to bring a mechanic and check it out, and they will water test it for you. I've always been happy with my deals with them and am not getting paid to write this ad, I just don't like seeing them being called things that I haven't seen to be the case. As in any used situation, I'd be careful what you buy but especially with older boats it's nice to have a place like LML to go to. read more

I just had the worst experience there!! Do not listen to these people they are ALL scammers!!!! These guys quoted me a new short block for my boat for $1,200 and that was everything included. Each week was a new story as to why my boat wasn't finished. After 5 1/2 weeks these guys call me up and tell me they are going to put a new motor in for $3,500 plus $600 to put it back in the boat!!!!! WHAT!! I told him that I didn't understand ...they were supposed to put a short block in? He said even if they do get a short block it would cost double the $1,200. I said but you guys quoted my $1,200 with everything....I told him that I was going to call the Attorney Generals Office to make a report and the owner Shane said just come get your boat I am not doing business with you because you threatened me. I threatened to call the Attorney Generals Office because they weren't treating me fairly. WHAT EVER YOU DO....these guys are not true to their customers!!! MAKE SURE YOU GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!! They play around in circles trying to confuse you and hold the customer responsible. read more
