Find somewhere else to rent. Gas gauge was broken and trim gauge broken. So when they fill you up at the end of your trip you have no idea of knowing what amount of fuel you started with. No depth finder/GPS on the boat, had to pull teeth to get any sort of dock lines and when we did one line was about a foot long. Boat had tears in the seat cushions and stains on the floor. I have boated on the Chesapeake bay for 35 years I'm a very experienced boat operator this place is sketch. Oh they also charge you 10 bucks for parking, but when we went there the next day to eat at the restaurant nextdoor there was no mention of a parking fee for us then. We were checked in very quickly by friendly staff. The operating instructor was very thorough and efficient. We rented the sport triton pontoon boat and it was perfect for our family of four. The seating was super comfy and it was easy to drive. The sound system was awesome and it provided plenty of shade. The only critique I would have would be that the yellow life jackets that were required to be worn when we left the marina were smelly and had mold on them. We also did not have two ropes to tie off when we docked for lunch. Otherwise, a perfect day on the lake and we will definitely use them again. read more

I'm from California, and so this was a great find for a family outing. For my first visit, I had to go through the instructional video and quiz, before being able to rent a pontoon. Note: Give yourself (and your party) extra time to go through the video/quiz and get the boat. I think it took us about 30-45minutes until we were on the lake. My family went after the local schools had started, and so it didn't seem busy or crowded. The staff were friendly and guys handling the boat were very accommodating. I lived in Tampa for six years and desire more than anything to get back down there to the tropical environment and just to enjoy the geographical layout with water all around me. However, I finally stumbled across a place in Georgia on Lake Lanier that gets me that type of serenity I'm looking for inland. Introducing Paradise Rental Boats at Port Royale! I googled this place and found it online and after researching decided to visit here on Memorial Day weekend! They had two options even during the busy holiday weekend; a brand-new pontoon boat or a jet ski. My girlfriend and I chose the pontoon boat and decided to invite her brother. Before arriving I completed a boat readiness test which was very easy but was a requirement to rent the boat. When we pulled up to the marina I was surprised to see that it was everything I was hoping for! There was a ramp down to the rental spot and it got me in the mood for the adventure that was about to transpire. Everything was clean and all the staff was dressed in matching uniforms and they explained everything in detail that left me with no confusion. The boat was brand new and have a great stereo on it! We chose to rent the pontoon boat for four hours and drove all the way out to Sunset Cove where there were many boats and lots of partying going on! We cruised around throughout the boats and felt fancy for a bit lol. After returning there was a really cool tiki hut bar and outdoor restaurant! Total cost for the boat rental was $266 which we split three ways for four hours. We had to fill up the gas tank which was only about $22. 1. The bathroom in the boat was stinking. We complained about it and the response we got back was - such things happen. Then entire journey we had to stay with the stink of the bathroom. Even when we went swimming, as we swam close the boat, the stink of the bathroom make it very un pleasant. What was upseting was not the stink but the response we got - it happens. Really? We were charges $600 for a boat with a stinking bathroom and it happens? 2. The weather conditions needed us to rebook the boat. The service would not allow us to until last minute. We had to drive 3 hours to check in with them and only then they would cancel the service. This is the most unreasonable expectation from a customer. Fortunately for us it did not rain after 3 hours of drive for rain check and we ended up boating. They were not considerate about it. I would not rent from them again. If you xo rent - be prepared for last minute weather change as they do not pay heed to any weather.com predictions. Also be absolutely prepared for a stinking bathrooms in a boat and responses like "it happens" when you complain about it. Furter no trash cans near the boats. You will have to carry all your trash all the way to parking which is at least 10 minute walk read more

This is the 2nd year in a row that we rented the large pontoon boat with a 2 person tube. The boat itself was great. It's like boating in a large cushy living room. Last year I noticed that the flotation devices were mildewed. Since we like to anchor the boat and swim in a cove, this matters to us. Luckily,I own life vests, so this year I brought 6 life vests (and yes their life vests were still mildewed). Also, last year and this year, I noticed that the depth finer / sonar on the boat was unusable. Last year the old unit didn't work. This year there was a new sonar unit, but it gave grossly incorrect readings. When I pointed this out to the person doing the boat checklist, he said "no one uses those". I own a boat and frequently boat on Lake Lanier. I always watch my depth finder. I told the worker that he should check the sensor in the water to see if it was mounted properly. He didn't have a clue and didn't get anyone who knew. Later, when we anchored to swim, I checked and sure enough the sensor had been rotated 90 degrees facing straight up instead of down - That fixed the sonar. That reminds me of the next issue - the anchors on these boats weigh about 20 lbs. The wind just blows the boat and causes it to drag the itty bitty anchor. So, I always swim close to the boat and make sure to start on the upwind side of the cove. GREAT COMFORTABLE BOAT WITH VERY STRONG AND QUIET 120 HP MOTOR EASILY PULLS TUBES, BUT BEWARE OF MILDEWED FLOATS AND SMALL ANCHOR THAT WON'T HOLD THE BOAT. read more

Absolutely amazing!! The rental process was super easy the girls at the rental counter are super nice and knowledgeable! The guys out on the dock are hilarious and informative! When we pulled up the guard shack even the guard was amazing! Very welcoming and genuine care and concern for our safety! We rented the large Pontoon as the large party boat was not available! We still had a blast!! We chose a busy weekend, but it was our 2nd Anniversary so the more the merrier! We had 10 of our friends, a hot box a huge cooler and we had plenty of room! Had a great experience renting a pontoon boat for a day. They offer a safety video and test to be able to drive the boat.. highly recommend completing it online before arrival to save time. The check in process was quick and easy (make sure you have your license and have completed the test if you want to drive the boat). The boat was clean and easy to drive. My friends and I have rented party yachts on Lake Allatoona and Lake Lanier from here. The staff is helpful and friendly, and the boats are fairly easy for us to maneuver through the water. Not the best customer service experience at Paradise. We booked a boat a couple weeks in advance. The check in was seamless and the boat itself was fine but there were a few complications. First being that they asked us if we wanted a tube so we said yes because it sounded fun, right? Well our pontoon doesn't go faster than about 13 mph and we are all adults...once we realized how slow this boat was, we were wondering why they even tried to up-sell us this $35 tube. We did not even attempt to use it and told them we when returned the boat. They offered a refund that we had to wait 20-30 extra mins during our drop off to "receive" and almost a week later, the card on file for the tube got charged anyways for that in which they said we would not be charged. We Didnt even bother disputing as we already wasted enough time on this. Also, they don't give you any ropes here apparently...we did not realize this until we went to Margaritaville and could not tie up to a dock.. read more

They operate out of port royal marina. The staff is amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable. They have several of each boat available for renting. We had the 20 ft for 4 hours and a tube. Our party consisted of 6 adults , one teenager and 2 under 10 . We all had a blast! The shade sail helped when needed. It had plenty of horsepower to cruise And pull the tube . The staff will need everyone that plans on driving to arrive together. They will not do the safety review and boat review until all drivers have their card and are there. So get there early so you don't eat into your rental time:) They will inspect the boat with you and mark any damage prior to your rental. When you get back in , they will check again to be sure no additional damage needs to be noted. Be safe and have fun! read more

No Boat, No problem! Paradise boat rentals makes planning a "boat day" easy breezy! It is super easy to find and tucked away in a beautiful part of Lake Lanier. You enter through a gate and let the security guard know that you are here for a boat rental. There is a lot of parking, but I recommend getting there early, so you can secure a spot. There are wagons that you can use to transport stuff from your car to the boat. Once you arrive, the appointed captain of the group and an additional crew member of the group will need to go check in, sign paperwork, and receive a training for how to operate the boat. The staff is great about covering everything that you need to feel comfortable operating the boat. The boats they have are updated and clean. They have bluetooth, so you can connect any device for music. They have life jackets and plenty of storage for your things and plenty of seats for your guests. You can also rent jet skis and other equipment too. If you want to enjoy a nice day on the lake, but don't want to invest in buying a boat, then give them a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

My family and I have rented a boat just about every week this summer on Lake Lanier. We have found the employees and management to be NOTHING SHORT AWESOME!! We have rented both the 20' pontoon and the 18' runabout. Everything went smoothly from rental, to safety check, to getting our equipment and returning and refueling. We had a mechanical issue the last time we went out (no fault of theirs, these are rental boats!!) without me asking they comped me a free half day for later this summer!! Probably next week!! They have a very well trained, young staff that you can tell enjoy their jobs and do whatever they can to make sure you enjoy your day on the lake!
