Well the day I had to get my…read moreprescription filled which I've had for around 9 years & take daily & I HAVE TO HAVE they tell me they have none & do not know when!! I started panicking & calling around & Gainesville pharmacy & the young man pharmacist said he had some & would get me more of my medication & make sure I have it EVERY month!! It really upset me that a pharmacy that knows how much I need that medication couldn't call me or order ahead so I will now be taking my business to Gainesville pharmacy not to mention how super nice & knowledgeable & fast the whole staff is!!

The staff here is decently friendly enough, but nothing too wowing. I've experienced a couple of really friendly encounters, but I hardly visit here anymore to keep up with the staff. And I might be a bit strange in writing this, but the lighting at this location is too bright! I'm not one of those strange folks who goes around noticing the oddest thing, but I'm sitting here pondering why I would rather visit the Oakwood location versus this one. One of the reasons is because of lighting. I guess I like a homely (not particularly dim) atmosphere with just the right balance of lighting. Overall, this is an okay location. There's always a constant stream of people coming in and out. I guess with it being near a juvenile holding facility and being semi near the more dilapidated area of Gainesville (masked behind the prettier business buildings, firehouse, & restaurants) that the strange folks do frequent here.

In addition to offering pharmacy items they also have a limited offering of OTC remedies at greatly reduced prices. NGHS employees also get an additional 18% employee discount in all OTC items with their employer ID. This location also offers a drive through for pickup and good hours including Saturday's. It is rarely crowded as most people do not know it is here other than health system employees and patients who are a physician in the medical park offices.

My 85 year old mother had been getting her medications delivered to her door for many years from McElveen's. Several years ago, she moved to a gated community, and we all know how frustrating that can be to delivery people. Understood. To make matters even more daunting, delivery people must press a code to gain entry into her building, a feature that has been recently repaired. For the sake of time and my sanity, Mama's latest medication wasn't delivered, since the delivery person failed to gain entry to her building . According to the person I just spoke to on the phone, this happened many, many times whilst attempting to make her latest delivery . During these many, many times, no one associated with McElveen's Pharmacy bothered to call my mom to inform her of their difficulties. I called McElveen's Pharmacy this morning. I'd figured the newly repaired door was our culprit. While attempting to explain this to the man on the phone, he repeatedly interrupted me (even when I calmly asked him not to), and finally told me: Your Mom will have to come downstairs to receive her meds. We don't have time to keep send- ing out delivery people over and over. I wish that was all he said. It was not. His tone was nasty and disrespectful. His demeanor, insulting. I don't really care if he was a pharmacist, a pharmacy technician, or a delivery person, the manner in which he spoke to me, was wrong! To top things off, he hung up on me when I questioned his tone . Needless to say, we'll be moving my Mama's prescriptions to mail order (long overdue). So thank you McElveen's Pharmacy for that. I'd also like to thank them for the years they did deliver to mom's front door, in the same very building. Those good years account for the two stars.

It took 2 months to get the rest of what we paid for and we were told he couldn't get the rest because we no longer have insurance. Basically they told us one thing and did another and they couldn't care less about doing the honorable thing and taking care of long standing customers.

Partners in care is a Compound Pharmacy located in Gainesville, Georgia. Apparently, I am not too…read morefamiliar with compounding laws down here, as it was typically done in pharmacies up in NY. It was a relatively easy drug to compound, and was 'affordable' to buy the drugs individually, however the compounding cost was astronomical to combine these 3 drugs together. $45.43 for the drugs and $66.17 for their compounding fee. This took the gentleman behind the counter all of 5 minutes to make. The staff is friendly, however i cannot justify the cost of the medicine. They have a good monopoly over the compounding area, however i don't think this value spending justifies the amount of work put in for it.

Chris is the owner of Lawrence Pharmacy and I must say no matter how busy he is ..Chris always greats me personally, no matter how many question's I might have, Chris always takes the time to go over all my medications and answer any questions I might have! Lawrence Pharmacy even sends out Birthday Cards, Chris will go out of his way to transfer a prescription from his Pharmacy to a local Pharmacy in Hiawassee.. in case I can' get to Gainesville......because of weather in the winter or for any other reasons.
