Everything that Briggs did to handle the estate was top-notch: from initial communication about the process and their pricing structure, to carefully packing and moving the items, to researching and assessing each piece, and finally, to selling the items with detailed, accurate descriptions, then providing a detailed list of what sold, for how much, and a check sent within a month of the last sale. Josie from Briggs was great both on the phone and over email (and in person, per my mom). My mom said she couldn't be happier with Briggs - even if some items didn't fetch as much money as we had hoped they would, we felt like everything was handled very professionally and fairly - and sometimes, antiques just don't go for as much as you'd think they would. The ladies there who own it, are friendly and helpful. The young guys who help load into your car and such, are kind and helpful too. They offer delivery for those of you who buy a lot or need help with a larger vehicle. This is a really great touch. It's family-run and in addition to the antiques they also sell mulch out back. I drove past it the first two times I went because it comes up quickly and is somehow hard to see on Chester Pike there, but once you know where it is you'll do okay. Looking forward to my next trip. My family member lost about $9,000 worth of gold jewelry & silver that was pawned and when the owner, Jon Zeitz, got the payout from the insurance company, he only offered to pay them $3,500 minus the interest. Helloooo! You don't charge interest on a pawn that you failed to secure because you neglected to keep the contract. It was discovered that the pawns that were supposed to be locked in a safe were left unsecured and there were several employees. He still owes my family member this money until this day. Jon, you need to pay this debt because you know that you did not lock your pawns away like you should have and quite frankly you had too many hands in the pot so no wonder the theft occured. If you want to get your pawned items back, do not use this pawn shop. As a matter of fact, I do not recommend using this pawn shop for anything.
