Not to mention, the reason I left my previous nail salon is because my favorite nail guy, Michael, is now the manager! Michael is one of the BEST and I see him every 2-3 weeks to get my nails filled. The rudest people I have ever done business with. I have been going to this nail salon for over 10 years. I got my eyebrows done today and the lady burned my skin off. The wax was so hot it made my eyes water and I flinched. I could feel my skin being ripped off when she took the wax off my face. I was very upset leaving and in a lot of pain and she told me "it's just red give it 30 mins" well it's been 8 hours and I'm still in pain and my skin is still ripped off. I called to see if I could get my money back because I am so unhappy with the service and the male owner proceeded to scream at the top of his lungs at me for over 3 mins telling me I was a picky customer. I didn't know telling the lady how I wanted my eyebrows done was picky???? We all like our eyebrows done differently. I am also paying for a service and would like it done how i want my eyebrows to be done. I had to get burn cream for under my eyebrows which sounds so dramatic but I couldn't even let my eyelashes touch under my eyebrows without being in serious pain. I can not believe the owners of this establishment. I have heard from so many people they think they're rude too. I strongly urge you to never go to this place. They always do a great job here. I love them. I normally get my nails done here and they will last 3 weeks without peeling or breaking. I also get my brows waxed. I'm super picky about who does them because i have sensitive skin and if the person that does the wax is too rough itll peel skin too. No one has hurt me here and my brows look fabulous. read more

I have gone to so many different nail salons and finally found the one! This nail shop is way better than any other nail salon especially better than Aniston's Nails Spa. I have never been more satisfied with my nails! Before coming to Lansdowne Nails I went to a nail salon called Aniston's Nail spa in sterling. The location is awful, the staffs are rude and it is unsanitary. The owner was just so inconsiderate and rude. It was one of the worst nail salons I went to. I Will never go there again. I have been to this salon twice. On Wednesday, 9/6/2017, I visited the salon & a young man did my nails & pedicure. I spent $90. What a waste of money. My acrylics look horrible, I need to get them redone. My feet look like I didn't get a pedicure. My pedicure took at total of 20 minutes and I paid $50. I'm disappointed. Would like to give an update. When in for a full set last week and had Thomas. He was on his phone most of the time, constantly making me wait so he could text. He was also snapping his fingers when he needed me to move my hands and just overall using a rude tone. Also charged me an extra $5 for coffin shaped nails... which took maybe 30 seconds to cut. 9/23/2012 Edit » Out of all the nail shops I have ever been to..this one takes the cake. I never been so disappointed. Just so we are clear, I am a licensed cosmetologist. Meaning you not only have the knowledge of hair, but nails and skin care as well. Explaining the steps would be rather obnoxious..but I am sure we can remember the wonderful relaxing feeling of someone else cutting, filing, and massaging our feet. Lets not forget the PAINT! where you dont have to bend into a pretzel to get the paint in all of the right places. Ahhh relaxation! BAM! ! That was the thud of another customer falling onto the hard ceramic floor because the nail tech neglected to clean the water that she sprayed like a fountain. I should have gotten up and walked out then. I had a feeling it was going to be an awful time. Fast forward to a rushed poorly done service. I asked her to cut my nails down a bit, and she ended up cutting the corner into a pointy mess. My cuticles are jagged and I have paint on my skin. Which is odd because there isn't an even distribution of color on my nails. Thankfully I own the color, so I can touch up the areas that were missed. Over all it was an unpleasant experience. Especially for the $30 I spent on a regular pedicure. Go elsewhere. read more

This place is not a salon I recommend. I've been here multiple times, hoping that I caught a technition on an off day but that never seemed to be the case. Yes, the salon is clean but that is about all I will give them. They are way too overpriced for the service they offer. I have had my nails messed up and they wanted to charge me extra! I refused! They don't care what your nails turn out like and they don't care if you are happy or not. Do not recommend! You can find a much better nail salon up the street called Katie's nail spa. Last week was my third time going to this place and I am so happy that I have a place to go to to get a mani/ pedi anytime! I requested for the dipping powder on my nails and I was very pleased by how it looked afterwards. My nail tech was very friendly and gave me the look i wanted. The service and time spent on their customers for a 15 dollar manicure was terrible! I was in and out of the chair in 10 minutes. The woman rushed through the process and it was not an enjoyable experience. Manicures are suppose to be a treat! And a relaxing time to unwind and be pampered! This was not that kind of experience. I left more stressed out than when I entered and I left with excess nail color on my fingers! The nail color didn't last longer than 3 days before chipping. I DO NOT recommend this nail salon for anyone who is looking for a high quality manicure or even just a GOOD manicure.... the whole experience was awful! read more

I had been going to this salon for YEARS, despite never being warmly greeted by anyone in the salon other than my tech! I usually ignored it as I was only there to see Michael. He had always done a fab job. I NEVER once complained about anything! Lately, the service had been a bit off, but nothing worth complaining about. Today took the cake! 1st may nail filing was uneven. Every nail was unevenly slanted. I brought it to his attention and he corrected it. Next, The polish I chose did not look like the sample provided so I quickly requested to have it removed. He ignored me until I repeated it a 3rd time. He slammed the polish on the counter and began yelling at me. He told me I was being too picky! WTF REALLY! at $60 for a full set u DAMN right I expect my shit to be proper!! I suggested he take a deep breath and speak to me respectfully as his manner was rude. He then had the audacity to tell me next time to go to someone else. NO... next time I will take my business elsewhere! DO U REALLY THINK I WOULD COME BACK AFTER THIS!!!! Having now read other reviews I regretfully have to admit that thinking back to how over the years I was treated differently by the tech's compared to other customers. Even though I was a regular! I have to agree that this facility has racist tendencies! I used to always give Michael a big tip b/c his work was proper. Today's tip was a penny, that's how insulted and disgusted I was with his service. The MF should be glad I paid. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THIS PLACE. I've been going here for a couple of years. Good for pedicures as a walk-in. Nancy is one of the best. A couple of the nail techs are lazy and don't do a very thorough job. I have pink and white acrylic nails and there are only a couple of nail techs that know how to do these. What a great salon! I've been going here for a few months now and have been satisfied since! I generally walk in and have been happy with every technician I've had. Kathy, Nancy, and Kim are my favorites. Kathy is the best and I do try to get appointments with her, but she's generally booked - probably because she's so good! This place is hit or miss depending on whom you get. I've been going there for years because it's close to my house and it is convenient, and they always did an OK job, however i'm not going there again because of what happened last time. I got a pedicure and eyebrow wax. The girl did an OK job with the pedicure, and I could tell she was new and did not speak a word of English, so it was hard to communicate. However, she ripped my skin off, under both eyebrows, when she did the eyebrow wax. I have never ever had this happen to me before. All I can think is that she wasn't properly trained. I had scabs under my eyes for a week. Luckily, I didn't have any major events to attend, but still had to go places with scabs under my eyes that were visible. Not to mentioned that it hurt during and after the waxing job. I have pictures, unfortunately I don't think there is any way to attach them. So, beware! read more

Wow, just awful. The technican's are rude rude rude! They always seem to be rushing you even though they say they allow walk-ins. I went in one day got my nails done, gel set. Great job actually. Looked good. I broke a nail, came in to get it fixed waited 30 minutes and the nail person took me back and said we cant help you right now come back another day. I was furious and complained so she took me and did a horrible job and the manager said come back tomorrow we will do it correctly. I went back the next day, mad of course and it took the lady 2 minutes to do it the right way. So why did the lady not just do it right the first time? Clearly, my money was not green enough since a fix is not as expensive as everything else. Then I went back a week later, broke another nail (gel nails STINK! always breaking) she refused to fix it without getting fill ins and the lady a week before said I could wait two weeks!!!!! So I had them remove my nails and do a manicure. The manicure was awful and she rushed me so much on picking a color she picked it for me and walked away. The manicure looks awful and she got up and walked away and did not come back and my nail was messed up. It did not get fixed. My boyfriend even noticed how bad my nails looked and when he notices, somethings up. This place cares about money only, how many people they can shove in and shove out. I have been going to this Salon for several months because it is convenient. During each visit I have become more repulsed by their practices. For example, I get the same service every time and the price is never the same. I have witnessed implements be removed and reused from a sealed surgical / sanitary plastic pack (intended for one time use) and these same dirty Implements are reinserted into the package and presented to the next patron as if they are fresh and sanitized, When they are not. Their English is a big challenge. The sloppy job that I received last was it! I was burned repeatedly by someone who I believe was using my flinch to know when enough was enough. It was as if the woman had poor vision and was inflicting burning pain as a workaround. The wax rooms are unsanitary, the same stick is used and reused and the aesthetician blows/spits on the wax stick before applying it for hair removal. So done there ... Caviat Emptor! read more

I had been going to this place for years while living in Ashburn, VA. I moved to Leesburg and decided to continue going to Lansdowne Nails since I'd had good service with Mimi in the past. My last appointment with Mimi was awful. I had scheduled a manicure and a pedicure on a Wednesday evening (it wasn't a busy friday or saturday). As Mimi was getting started on my Pedicure, a lady in her early 70's walked in and came up to Mimi and asked her how much longer she would be. Mimi said about 40 minutes and the lady said can you be done in 30 minutes? Mimi said yes. I sat there in disbelief not only that the lady had the nerve to interrupt my appointment and ask Mimi to rush but that Mimi accepted. 30 minutes for a manicure and pedicure both??? And the lady sat in one of the pedicure chairs and watched Mimi and I. Mimi was rushing - to prove it she cut the cuticle on my one toe and it bled. And yes, I was out the door in 30 minutes - with a half-a**ed job. I won't be going back. Obviously Mimi was more interested in getting the money than she was in doing a quality job with a long standing client. I have been to Leesburg Nail Spa a few times so far this summer and am very pleased. They also get very favorable ratings. They do a great job and take their time. read more
