    Stir fried noodles
    Evan Z.

My view of this restaurant represents what I think about most Chinese restaurants in the Charlotte area - they're solid, but for a city as big as Charlotte, it could do a lot better. The noodles here are freshly made (you can actually see them being made at the front!), the broth is clean, and the meat is tender. But that's kind of it, nothing really stood out to me flavor wise that makes me really want to go here. I'm not sure what it is but their soup dishes are missing some sort of special factor that would potentially push this restaurant into the 'great' category of restaurants. The stir fry noodles were pretty average, the flavor was all sauce and msg and the noodles weren't cooked great. Service was fine, food came out relatively fast and staff were reasonably nice. 4.5/5

Wow. Amazing noodles and you cna see how it's being hand pulled. We got the braised beef broth , pickled cabbage soup and dumplings. The broth are tasty , just enough meat , and loved the baby bok choy that comes with it. The dumpling is ok.

Yes, I went to a hand pulled noodles restaurant, and I fell in love with their FRIED RICE. I wish I captured a photo of my husbands chicken fried rice- I only got it packaged in a to-go box! it was genuinely one of the best unassuming plates of food I've eaten. There is a perfect balance of sugar and salt, and umami- and the OGs know how important sugar is in savory Chinese cooking. The beef noodle soup was very good, great chew to noodles, and easy drinking broth.

They are extremely friendly. We've been 3x. I generally get the basic beef broth w/the thin noodle. Who can argue w/fresh? Its amazing. The flavors of the broth are well developed. The spring onions add that little bit of something. The beef is tender and plentiful for the portion size. This is a hole in the wall so don't expect much in terms of ambiance. The focus is on well made, fresh food.

Loved how fresh everything was. Loved the dumplings. I thought the drunken noodles were a bit too thick but loved that they were fresh. He was making noodle while we ate

Great authentic hand-pulled Chinese noodles place. The food was great, the service was fast and efficient and the atmosphere was cool! Charlotte is truly blessed to have so many great authentic Chinese body shops popping up all over town! I highly recommend this place!

Great hand pulled noodles place. The noodles are chewy and bouncy. We ordered the braised beef noodles soup, the Shanxi shaved noodles and the egg roll. The braised beef noodles have good beefy flavor and the beef are very tender. The shaved noodles have good flavor and is very similar to chow fun. I just wish there are more meat and vegetables. The egg roll was just ok, contain mostly vegetables and there were barely any pork in it. But overall a great value at $14.99 per entree and food are very good.

The servers were very attentive and friendly. You can see partly into the kitchen and can see the chef hand pull the noodles. Good price for the amount that you get. Good food but my dish didn't really stand out to me.

Incredibly authentic and delicious. Speedy service. No frills ambiance just great food. Noodles perfectly chewy, broth savory and not too salty. Not pictured: arguably the star of the show, the Sesame chicken - perfectly fried and sauced. Will be back

This place is a must try!!! We had the Shaved noodles with veggies, spring rolls, and the House special with pork, chicken, shrimp and hand pulled noodles. Every bite was delicious, and portion size is great (we had to take home Togo boxes). Staff was super attentive, explained all the options, and were just so nice. We'll definitely be back!!

Lanzhou Hand-Pulled Noodles in Matthews is the kind of place that doesn't care about social media trends or clever slogans. They just want to feed you carbs. Good ones. Like, stretched-from-a-hunk-of-dough-right-in-front-of-you carbs. High ceilings, bright natural light, and giant silver tubes dangling from the ceiling like robot snorkels. Apparently they're for air conditioning...which is cute, because it was still warm inside. But hey, effort counts. You can watch the guy in the open kitchen stretch noodles by hand like he's doing dough yoga. No machines, no shortcuts. Just flour, water, and serious arm strength. I watched him for a full minute before realizing I hadn't blinked. He didn't even look up once. He was in the zone, like a noodle monk. We shared a few things to start. The steamed pork dumplings were clearly homemade with a solid meat-to-dough ratio. None of that sticky, goopy skin nonsense. Just chewy, well-folded little pockets that soaked up soy sauce like pros. The smashed cucumbers were cool, crisp, and a solid reset between bites. No spice unless you dunk them in the chili oil sitting on every table like it's waiting for a dare. The cheese wontons were fried to a deep golden crunch and shaped like little origami hats. Cute, crispy, and decent. I wouldn't have minded a little more cheese in the middle, but I still ate more than my fair share. I ordered the chicken Chaomian, which was loaded with chewy hand-pulled noodles, lightly crispy chicken, cabbage, and scallions. It had that perfect wok-seared taste without feeling greasy. One of my friends got the beef Chaomian, and after a bite swap, I liked his more. He liked mine more. So next time, I'm getting the beef. Our third friend went for the braised beef noodle soup and said the beef was tender and melt-in-your-mouth good. I didn't try it, but I trust the man. And then there was the egg roll. I know it's just an egg roll, but this one deserves its own paragraph. It was crispy perfection, golden brown with those little bubble blisters on the wrapper that let you know it was fried just right. Easily one of the top egg rolls I've had in Charlotte. Everything was made in-house and it shows. The flavors are clean, nothing's too salty or too greasy. It's comforting, straightforward, and seriously well done. The prices were more than fair for the amount of food and the quality, especially in 2025 where a bag of grapes costs $9. Want more legit Charlotte food spots without the fluff? I made a guide. Amazing food! Everything was great! Best hand pulled noodles I've had! Small space, and you can see the chefs making each order from scratch

In my opinion, these are the best Chinese noodles in Charlotte. Fried rice and orange chicken were excellent as well. Good service.

Recommend the chili oil noodles! Great flavor and fresh food! My kids loved figuring out how to eat the long noodles with chop sticks.

Well the food use to be good, but the last couple of times the preparations have lost the plot. The…read morelast time I ordered Kung Pao Chicken, they served cashews instead of peanuts. That's a problem if the cook can't identify peanuts and cashews. This time I ordered the Twice Cooked Pork and received thick planks of overcooked pork. Traditionally this dish is made with a spicy red bean paste. Maybe the cook was confused and was attempting to season and cook it like Pernil because this one was made with red food colouring and cayenne. The flavours and cooking taste like someone has poorly cooked Latino food all their life or are attempting to destroy what was once a good Chinese takeaway. Will need to find a takeout now where people respect the cuisine they are cooking. 糟糕的食物 (zāogāo de shíwù)

This last time I got it the sauce was ok but the dumplings were just not the same. Bummer. Of course prices have gone up, so paying more for a lesser taste experience is not a win in my book. I also ordered my fave moo shoo chicken- which came with the 'pancakes' but no duk sauce. This is a big oversight for this dish. And also no rice. Service was quick & friendly -ambiance, well, I ran in & out. I also missed the days when this place gave you a free 3-liter when you spent a certain amount...new management, perhaps? I'd still give them another try tho- we go back a ways....
