    Receipt for package to Guyana South America

    They can't even give me an answer and they can't contact someone in Guyana to let me know when my package will be delivered. This is awful for a company that has in business 40 years!

    Commercial open and waiting for inspection.

    On July 26, 2025, I purchased, packed, and shipped a Commercial Bin and a China Box containing School supplies for distribution to the school children in a small village on the East Coast of Demerara in Guyana. The Commercial Bin and China Box were shipped out of Laparkan's New York location. I scheduled my trip to Guyana for September 6, 2025. This date was chosen so that adequate time was allotted for the arrival and clearing of the container which housed my items. On September 2, 2025, I contacted the Laparkan office @ 718-287-3620 to inquire about the status of my shipment. I was told that the cargo reached Guyana on August 31st. I thanked the customer rep for her time, and informed her that I was leaving for Guyana on September 6th and it appeared that I should be able to uplift my items upon my arrival. She agreed with my assumption and I hung up the phone very happy to know that the school children would be able to receive their school supplies just a few days after school had begun. I arrived in Guyana the evening of September 6th. On Monday September 8, 2025, I contacted Laparkan at the local number 592-226-1095. I provided my Dock Receipt Number to the customer rep and was told that the cargo arrived in Guyana on August 31st, and it takes 5 to 7 business days to clear customs and someone will contact me when my items were available for pick up. on Wednesday September 8th, I contacted Laparkan's NY office (718-287-3620) to inquire about the status of my items, as it had been more than 7 business days and no one from their local office had contacted me about picking up my shipment. I was given the same answer, "someone will contact me when my items were available for pickup. I contacted Laparkan's local office once again on September 15th, as I still had not heard from anyone regarding the status of my shipment and when it would be available for pickup. I was given the same message, "someone will contact you when your item is available for pickup". At 11:29am on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 (4 days before my departure from Guyana), I received a text message from Laparkan informing me that my cargo has arrived and is available for pickup. I hastily arranged transportation for the following day (Wednesday September 17th). I arrived approximately 9:00am to the Lombard and Broad street location to uplift my two items. I assumed it would take an hour or two to get things sorted out and be on my way. I was wrong. It took half an hour to get to the counter to get the invoice for the Destuff/Ocean,Admin, & P/Security Chrg fee. It took another 15 minutes to pay that invoice and collect the stamped receipt, I was then instructed to enter the warehouse to identify my items and get them inspected by the customs officier. It took the warehouse staff approximately 45 minutes to locate my two items. We then waited an additional 15 minutes to get the forklift guy to move the other cargo out of the way so that my commercial bin could be retrieved. At that point, the customs officier stepped away from his position. He was gone for approximately 1 hour. I inquired about his status, and was told he was assisting other customers in the back office and I should wait for him to return. He returned after an additional 15 minutes of waiting. He reviewed the items in my boxes and assessed a clearing fee for the items. I was then told to join a long line to pay the cashier. after that I was made to join two other lines to get the gate pass and other items necessary to remove my packages from the location. After approximately 4 hours of idling, my driver was able to enter the facility where he had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the forklift operator and a few other workers to assist him with securing the two items in his cantor. The entire process took approximately 5 hours. It is not very efficient or organized. There are two many steps involved and not enough people/staff to assist the customers. something has to be done to make this process more efficient. There is no acceptable reason why cargo that arrived in the country on August 31 is not available for pickup until September 16th. No explanation or apologies were given for the delay. Because of this delay, I was almost forced to cancel my return flight. Thanks to the assistance of some wonderful friends and family, I was able to sort and distribute the school supplies to the children 1 day prior to my scheduled departure from Guyana. This type of service is not acceptable and should not be tolerated. I will not be taking my business here anymore. There is no accountability for the sub-par performance and the customer is left to suffer because of this inadequate and inefficient service. The customer service agents need to be trained on how to interact with the public. Customers pay a lot of money to ship their cargo and should be informed if there are any delays or issues that will impact their access to that cargo. Less than 1 star for me

    I did a lot of business with Laparkan but no more. They never keep my scheduled pick-up appointment and customer service is bad.

Then when I went to pay for shipping my parcel, she quickly took the self service credit card payment interface and turned it towards her and punched in some stuff and I think she gave herself a three or four dollar tip, because the total was way more than the sum of the individual items. Some of the people working her seems decent and hardworking but if you come in at the wrong time you better prepare for some childish levels of disrespect and unprofessional conduct.

My first visit I had to scan and make copies of a large word document for my nonprofit organization, that was expensive but it was done correctly and the young lady who helped me was OUTSTANDING, she did everything I asked for with a smile. Again worth the price for good customer service. The last two visits here, I had to return items via USPS. I purchased boxes at a reasonable price and shipped items here, much faster than standing in ridiculous winding lines at the local post office and the boxes I purchased for shipping, I dare to say was cheaper than my local post office. To drop off a package here for USPS with a preprinted label was $1.00....yes one dollar, no long lines....no snarky employees....definitely worth it. I always receive great service here (ALWAYS). Thank you IMail for wonderful customer service.
