Update 6/20/18 from 2 stars to 4 stars. I'd like to thank the owner for reaching out to me after I posted my previous review. He kindly explained that USPS does not scan the packages that they pick up from Lincoln Postal until a few days once it's along the delivery route. The person who I sent the package to received it within a week. The only reason why I will knock off one star is that the person who I spoke to should have expressed the delay in scanning by the postal workers when I expressed confusion about where my package was. This should have either been noted on the receipt or told to customers when they are sending a package. Nonetheless, I would come here if I have an emergency but for now, I'll stick to the post office. read more

I went there to send several USPS packages to avoid going to an official USPS location. I thought it would at least be a more pleasant experience. The line turned out to be as bad as the real USPS, but that may have been a particularly unfortunate day. The price was over 50% higher than the rate given on the USPS website. Most importantly, the package did not get sent out. They did not respond to emails. They eventually answered the phone after many attempts over multiple days. I was told that the USPS tracking numbers that they issue do not work, which does not make any sense. Eventually the tracking information showed up. It took over two weeks for the packages to be picked up by USPS. Summary: terrible pricing and terrible service. read more

They charge $19 for a book of 20 stamps. That's $5.80 more than the Post Office for the same thing. Also, they add a surcharge of $1.50 for all drop offs. Fine... if you tell me. If you tell me, then I have a choice. If you don't tell me, you're ripping me off. They charged my daughter the surcharge without telling her, and overcharged for stamps. She came home after dropping a package, with a receipt that showed $20+ for a transaction that should have cost $13.20 I'm all for mom-and-pop local business, and understand that real estate is $$$, but be fair!! read more

Every time I come here I'm more annoyed. The lines are always super long because it's the only real option but the staff does not give two shits about their customers. The staff never wears masks, there's zero organization of the line so you've got ten+ people waiting in close distance to each other during a major Covid surge in NYC and overall I feel so stressed being here. I had the same problems other people are complaining about. It's unfortunate that they won't change their policies to make this our neighborhood go-to spot for shipping and printing. I only go here when I'm desperate because it's typically a frustrating and expensive experience. If you do go, make sure you bring cash. So you aren't left going home and back again. This place does its customers zero favors. read more

NEW TO THE AREA: This is the first time I felt racism against my own. I walked all the way to Lincoln Postal to print of a audition scene that was emailed to me. I waited in line as there was a caucasian guy in front of me. He didn't have enough money with him. So he said to the Black woman behind the counter "I'll just take... (inaudible). She said how much do you have? He replied and she reached into the tip jar to get the rest of the money. I thought that was so sweet she did that. My turn. I asked her if I can make a copy of a document that was emailed to me. She said "You have to use the rental machine, and that $3 plus the cost to print." I said is there another way. I am use to going to staples and using there copy machine to print. She said "no". I said is there another copy place close. She said "I don't know, You need to look it up on your phone with an attitude." I will never visit this place again. As the experience wasn't friendly. read more

The experience wasn't that bad as the comments said. They have new hours and are closed on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. To print they give you a printing slip to go on the computer. The prices are really high I paid 4.00 for one copy on resume paper. Not even in Manhattan they charge that. But the man at the counter was super nice and helpful. They take card and have an atm but I suggest bringing cash. read more

As much as it pains me to write a negative review about a small, local business, after numerous chances, I am unfortunately left with no other choice. I have been a member of Lincoln Postal for a little over a year, and have had maybe one or two positive experiences. They only have one person working at a time, so going in to drop off or pick up a package, you're waiting for at least 5-10 minutes. There have also been situations where I've been notified by UPS or FedEx that a package has been delivered, only to have the associate incorrectly tell me they didn't have it. Most recently, I dropped off 2 packages to be shipped out almost 5 days ago, and it still hasn't been shipped. Getting in touch with them is close to impossible as well, because if the one person who works there is busy, they just straight up don't answer the phone. I would stay far away. read more

Really nice friendly customer service. And it's a convenient and excellent alternative to the post office. I'm taking one star off because one of the women (new hire I believe) does not wear her mask over her nose so might as well not be wearing a mask at all. The last few times I have been there the mask has only been over her mouth. I've never left a review for anything on Yelp before but every time I come here I just set myself up for a bad day. If you say hello to the person at the counter, be prepared for a dirty look and no response. If you ask a question, be prepared for that person to not know the answer and then charge you $5 for it. I'm not sure why everyone's so angry there, but it's really a shame since it's the closest option to me. read more

This place is so annoying. They charge you $1 for package drop offs, even though it takes ZERO work for them to pass it along to the carrier and costs them nothing. They also only take debit cards for charges above $10, so you have to use an ATM In the corner with a $2 fee. Won't be returning. read more

My experience here was great. There is a young lady who's always helps me. She is very kind and even remembers my name. I had a hard time using the computer and she calmly helped me through it even though she was very busy with a long line of customers. I see people complaining about the drop off fee of 1$. As far as I can remember it's always been like that and she even tells you if you call and ask the fee is 1$. I regularly receive refrigerated prescription medications that go bad if not delivered immediately. For all other purposes, I would give Lincoln Postal five stars, but if you need absolute certainty about delivery, then this is not the place. Dean is a one-man show, so if he's not at the desk when a delivery is attempted, then the delivery is missed, and not delivered until the next day. When your prescriptions are critical for the quality of your life, this is not the place to send them. The one-man show also means that if Dean is busy, no one will answer the phone. And if shipments arrive at the end of the day, no notifications are sent to the customer until the following morning. read more

As with most things in life, nothing's perfect. I was drawn by the overall high (and plentiful) ratings on Yelp, so I walked farther than other closer options. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the store and the friendliness of the owner. I genuinely enjoyed our conversation--and I even thought, "If he's single, maybe I could set him up with a friend!" Maybe I got caught up in how nice everything was, but I forgot to really ask about what I was being charged. Looking at my receipt, I saw that I paid about $20 to ship a 4 lb 1.9 oz package USPS Priority Mail and $26 for two books of Forever Stamps. The stamps are what made me do a double take--they had been marked up $3 each. So, I also looked up how much my package would have cost if I had gone to the post office--about $9 less for 2-day Priority Mail. So, it turns out there's pretty high mark-up in this store. I think I would have been fine with that if things had been spelled out that you're paying for the convenience--and exactly how much extra you're paying for the convenience. Maybe this is something most NYers expect; I'm relatively new to the city. I do expect markup in bodegas, so maybe I should've made the connection. But the way things are set up, it rubs me as a little sneaky. I went back to return my stamps, since I hadn't used any and they were exactly as purchased. I could tell the owner was peeved about it. The way I saw it, he already got the mark-up from my package (stupidity tax) and the return of stamps was more of a "let's just try to make this even." He said it would be a "more complicated customer service thing" and asked me to wait about 10 minutes while he helped "paying" customers. I pointed out that I, too, was a "paying" customer, but I stepped to the side and waited patiently because I understood that it was pretty busy. When I returned to the counter he was much nicer and gave me the $26 back for the stamps. Overall, I'm on the fence if I would return because I think I'd rather be annoyed by the long lines at the post office than be charged so much more for shipping/stamps/etc. But you do get very good service--you just have to understand that you're paying more for it. read more

This place just SERIOUSLY saved my butt. The guy who works here (owner?) is incredible. I came running in like twenty minutes before they closed and needed this huge thing printed and postmarked immediately. He was efficient and helpful he knew exactly what to do. I needed brass fasteners which they didn't have but they DID have folders with fasteners in them so he came up with the brilliant idea to cut them out and use those. I just have so much love for this place right now. Fast computers. Great great great service. He didn't rush me even though I was pushing it right up to closing. He never once made me feel like I was wasting his time or that I was completely incompetent for not having anything together. This place for everything!! read more

In a word: STELLAR! This was one of the first shops I went into when looking to move to Brooklyn, because my friend needed stamps. We were behind a few people in line, everyone got personal attention, and no one was grumpy! It seemed like the friendliest place in NY, and that's due to Brandon behind the counter. After I finally got a sublet, I came back to rent a mailbox. Brandon was professional and patient -- even digging through a drawer of keys because I asked for a certain number mailbox -- and still super friendly. He had excellent advice about stuff I was mailing & what would be best (priority or regular, whether to get tracking, etc.) Another great thing about Lincoln Postal is that it's a street address, not just a PO Box -- they'll accept UPS and FedEx packages for mailbox renters. The US Post Office won't do that! Plus the shop is right around the corner from Brooklyn Museum where I intend to spend a lot of time. Helpful + friendly + convenient = AWESOME!! On our first visit, we found the shop clean, bright and well-organized. We met the owner, Dean, who was extremely friendly and chatted with us about the neighborhood and the store. They offer a variety of services (as listed by the previous reviewer). One cool service they offer is accepting and holding packages for customers--very convenient for all those Amazon.com and Fresh Direct deliveries. They also have a nice selection of greeting cards and other supplies. These guys are super friendly and professional and it's great to have another new local business to support! read more

Since I posted this review, I called when I saw no tracking information for my package on USPS.com to check up on what was happening. Dean, the owner answered my phone call, transferred me to Clayton, the gentlemen who had helped me and then, after Clayton took care of me, Dean followed up with me, having recognized that I was the person who yelped a less-than-complimentary review. After our conversation, Dean followed up with a yelp message. He acknowledged my concerns, explained to me how he addressed them and asked me to reconsider a 2-star review. This extraordinary level of customer service is to be commended and, now that my package has arrived in a very timely manner (3 business days via regular first-class postage to Chicago), I am satisfied with the completion of our transaction. Will I ship everything from Lincoln Postal in the future? Surely not. I will, however, surely patronize them again. It's nice to be reminded about the different levels of service that small business can afford to give you and see its contrast to larger chain retail outlets. THE BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER! I went to buy Christmas stamps. I was charged 75 cents per stamp... last time i checked, the Forever stamp was 49 cents. I understand they want to make a profit, they have overhead, i get it, but 26 cents per stamp; that's the definition of USERY! To add insult to injury, they refused to give me a refund! I had to ask to speak with the manager and explain that since NO PRICES were listed anywhere, how was I possibly to know they were going to charge me an arm and a leg for Christmas Stamps ('tis the season... to get ripped off!)
