The space is cosy and homey complete with a bar area, some table and chairs with a dance floor. It was the perfect venue for an intimate setting while watching a great band perform (shout out to TeeLo & Friends). Parking is easy, they have a small lot in front and another one out back near the alley. If you're looking for a cosy, friendly atmosphere where everybody knows your name, this is it. The clothes are in almost new condition. Very cute, very cheap. You really have to have patience to look through the stuff though because it's not organized by sizes. I found a jacket in excellent condition for my husband here too that we would've spent at least $80 on for 1/4 of the price! Great selection. There are days that they sell at a percent off you just need to call and found out the day. Staff is nice. Pretty organized. No complaints.

And then I see the amazing staff at TLC care for their clients... and it's somehow with love and compassion and professionalism. Many people here have multiple disabilities including blindness and the team cares for each one of them in such a positive way. It is incredible to see them who show up every day. Writing this in honor of my late soul dog, Harper. I adopted Harper almost 14 years ago from Dogs…read moreWithout Borders. DWB are heavily active in social media and I followed them on Facebook. I saw Harper and went to one of the adoption fairs. I first signed up as a foster. Fostering was free and I had two week periods to foster and help dogs socialize at home peacefully before being adopted. Food was provided and one of the responsibility is dropping them off at the adoption fairs. As you can assume, I went back to the adoption fairs only to start the adoption process. The organization truly cares about their dogs, making sure they get the best medical treatment and are placed in the right homes. There is no pressure in adopting the dogs so if you are only capable of committing a short amount of time, they express nothing but gratitude. They finalize the adoption by doing a home inspection, making sure the home and family are suitable for their rescues. My parents have also adopted a dog a few weeks later and the whole experience was organized, comfortable and smooth. I highly recommend fostering, donating to DWB and/or volunteering in this organization. Their staff and network of volunteers are truly angels .

The woman who fostered the dog we adopted was amazing. She really cared and helped Chloe and Nicole be selective about the best home for what has turned out to be the best little dog ever. DWB rescued him from a South LA shelter and he has very happily landed in a loving home with us. We worked with a few organizations while looking for a rescue pup and I would be happy to work with them again if and when the need arises. Always remember to adopt don't shop!!

How many hundreds of times have I driven by the Tarzana Community & Cultural Center? It has been…read moremany years, way back to the time there was a pottery store on the property. I finally had a chance to visit for a Tarzana Music Night last week. What a fun event! Because the weather was being forecasted to be cool with the potential of rain, the event was held indoors. Things were comfortable, but we were in close quarters with the other attendees. The sound was great and the performances were a lot of fun. I was primarily there to see a good friend perform, but I also had the chance to see some other talented musicians. I think each one was a singer songwriter, and I enjoyed each performance. Each one of the people that was working at the venue, which I imagine may have been on a volunteer basis, was friendly and a lot of fun. Normally the music nights are held outdoors, and I can imagine that most of the year, it is a lot of fun being in the open air.

They do have a very small amount of drinks, chips, and cookies for sale at a stand but thats it so if you don't want junk food def bring what you do want. They do have an indoor bathroom. PARKING - Def uber/LYFT to them. There are only a few spots in the back you can get to from the side street (not from Ventura blvd) and thats it! So do yourself a favor and get a ride. Lyft must know about this place because the driver knew exactly where to meet us in the back when we booked our return. For us it was a calm but fun summer evening hang outside!
