I personally haven't held an event at this place, but when the opportunity knocks on my door, I definitely will. This review is kind of way overdue. My son and I were invited to 2 baby showers within 2 months a part. Different people. Service by the employees were impeccable. They were all nice, friendly and helpful. All ladies and gentlemen were on top of things to make sure everything was up to par. You can have any type of events from baby shower to wedding, to birthdays, baptism, to engagement parties, holiday gatherings, bridal showers and more. You can also bring your own food. I don't know if they provide that for their guests.Venue visits are by appointment only!!. They are open for Private event rentals, accommodate up to 150 guests. They also do volunteer Services to schools, libraries, churches and hospitals. As mentioned earlier each package is different with their pricing. Depending on what you are interested in. All are welcome!:-) Venue was very clean along with 2 restrooms. Ample parking and you can request any service from anyone, anytime. Established back in 1914. Sometimes it is even free! The only problem is most are simply unaware of what activities are scheduled. The only folks who are aware are the "regulars" who stop by the post on a regular basis. Many times the monthly calendar is posted late (many don't even know where to go to access the calendar). If there is a special event not listed on the calendar members and non members never get directly notified. The post has a massive email mailing list of folks so why not just send out a copy of the monthly calendar, along with event updates to everyone? One click does it all. The turnout would be a lot better, and the bar would get additional revenue from those who drink too. If they did that they would get five stars!!!!

I finally had a chance to visit for a Tarzana Music Night last week. What a fun event! Because the weather was being forecasted to be cool with the potential of rain, the event was held indoors. Things were comfortable, but we were in close quarters with the other attendees. The sound was great and the performances were a lot of fun. I was primarily there to see a good friend perform, but I also had the chance to see some other talented musicians. I think each one was a singer songwriter, and I enjoyed each performance. Each one of the people that was working at the venue, which I imagine may have been on a volunteer basis, was friendly and a lot of fun. Normally the music nights are held outdoors, and I can imagine that most of the year, it is a lot of fun being in the open air.

Most people contribute to a pot luck feast that spans the wide world of food, from hot dogs and chili to baked ziti, tacos, meatballs, fried chicken, Chinese food, and on and on -- including some amazing homemade clam chowder from Mike The Mailman. Bartender Natalie did an amazing job of handling the busy crowd with speed and smiles. There were a couple of other staffers on site to watch the game, and they jumped in when she needed a hand with this or that, but for the most part Natalie captained the bar single-handedly for the duration. They were able to read the crowd (ages ranged from 30-60 yrs of age!) and kept the dance floor going - everyone happy and having fun.
