Carmela Josephine the sweetest dog who I adopted from Dogs Without Borders.

I am so grateful for everyone at Dogs Without Borders. They rescued Carmela from a shelter. The entire process was very easy and I now have the sweetest dog.

DWB is awesome! They were very communicative and open about our pup. Chloe made a big effort to make sure our home was a good fit for the dog we were looking at, and we thought it was such a green flag that they put so much effort in! You foster the dog for a week to make sure that they are a right fit, and we really appreciated that and felt it really gave us time to make sure she was the girl for us, and she was! They gave us our snuggliest most adorable girl and we are so grateful. Don't let any negative reviews lead you astray, because they seriously are so great and just want what's best for each dog. I would highly recommend adopting from them!

We recently adopted our 3rd angel through Dogs Without Borders and are so grateful for the work they do. Stumbled upon DWB in 2014 when they were hosting an adoption fair at Tailwaggers in Franklin Village. I registered as a foster and fell in love with the first dog I was paired with. Adopting a rescued animal is a big responsibility, but one of the most rewarding commitments I've ever made! Many rescues in this city aren't mission-driven, but DWB is. The team is doing incredible work. Thank you for our sweet Bambi, Lulu, and Cheeks (now named Goose)!

I was lucky to be a foster for DWB and have officially joined the foster fail club! Everyone at DWB has been so supportive and helpful from the start to this sweet milestone of adopting my dog. You're paired with a foster mentor who checks in daily, and the communication and support from the volunteers and team there is terrific. I highly recommend working with them and supporting their mission!

I strongly encourage you to check out Dogs Without Borders if you are looking to adopt a dog. Our 18 year old rescue dog passed away last year. We looked everywhere when we decided to find a new dog to keep our three year old pup company. After several weeks of looking I happened to find Dogs Without Borders and they had a dog that appealed to us. Communication with Chloe was very good and she answered all of my questions. After sending in a video and being vetted, we set up an appointment with the foster to meet Copita. The foster, Jewels, was also very helpful, accommodating and communicative. After making sure that we were a good fit and Copita got along well with our older pup, we proceeded with the adoption. Even after taking Copita, Jewels was available for follow up questions. The fee for adoption is very reasonable. Copita is home now settling in and we love her! There are so many dogs that need good homes. Please be sure to check out Dogs Without Borders!

Our 2nd adoption from DWB! Wife and I adopted from DWB first in 2012. This year, ready for a newbie, we knew to look first to Dogs Without Borders for small dogs. We spotted a 7lb approx. 4 yr old, long haired chihuahua named Taco. By the vids and pics his foster posted, he looked like our guy. I went to the next adoption event and it was instant attraction. Taco is now our boy and we love him till death do us part. Adoption was super easy. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Great experience. When we are ready for another, we will be back. Thank you DWB! Tim, Andrea & Taco

We adopted a beautiful sweet dog thanks to DWB. Well organized and thorough organization. We are so happy with our little fellow.

I adopted a wonderful little pooch, Brianna, from DWB and I can't recommend them highly enough! They provide such amazing care for these precious babies, and need all the support they can get to give them fulfilling, loving lives. Please adopt through DWB!!

Lulu (the littler one), in her new family!

We have had the best experience adopting with DWB! I sent in an application for a cutie patootie named Parker, and I heard back promptly. We sent in the requested home tour video, and heard back immediately that we would be welcome to do a 1 week trial adoption. We had spring break plans with my daughter and they worked with our schedule and with her foster mom to make it sync up. As soon as we decided to proceed, I got an email with the foster mom's info, and we were put in touch. Communication was absolutely top notch. Parker's foster mom, Evie, is the kindest person, a true animal care expert, with such genuine love and attention to animals. She kept in touch with me and helped me over that week with her own experience with Parker. Nicole, my foster mentor, was also wonderful, engaged, and responsive. This is truly a dream team of a rescue organization and I feel really lucky to have been able to adopt from them. We officially adopted Parker (we changed her name to Lulu), and we couldn't be happier! She is such a blessing to all of us. Thank you, so much, for saving her and bringing her into our lives with such professionalism and compassion.

Luna (formerly Starla), happy in her new bed

I finally had a chance to visit for a Tarzana Music Night last week. What a fun event! Because the weather was being forecasted to be cool with the potential of rain, the event was held indoors. Things were comfortable, but we were in close quarters with the other attendees. The sound was great and the performances were a lot of fun. I was primarily there to see a good friend perform, but I also had the chance to see some other talented musicians. I think each one was a singer songwriter, and I enjoyed each performance. Each one of the people that was working at the venue, which I imagine may have been on a volunteer basis, was friendly and a lot of fun. Normally the music nights are held outdoors, and I can imagine that most of the year, it is a lot of fun being in the open air.

They have a small outdoor stage with string lights hanging beautifully all around, a few picnic tables and fold out chairs for when there's an event to watch. When the chairs aren't there I imagine thats what they use for the outdoor dance floor under the stars, too! A few people brought their dogs on leash. I saw a few people brought in their own food, chilled out and ate while they watched the live band. They do have a very small amount of drinks, chips, and cookies for sale at a stand but thats it so if you don't want junk food def bring what you do want. They do have an indoor bathroom. PARKING - Def uber/LYFT to them. There are only a few spots in the back you can get to from the side street (not from Ventura blvd) and thats it! So do yourself a favor and get a ride. Lyft must know about this place because the driver knew exactly where to meet us in the back when we booked our return. For us it was a calm but fun summer evening hang outside! I don't know what its like without a band playing but hope I get a chance to check that out too.

They don't give you an 8 hour window where you are required to attend - the food collected goes to local food organizations to feed the homeless throughout LA - it's a great excuse to get outdoors & get some exercise! Motivation I love the entire concept of this organization. It is challenging for the impoverished to get access to fresh fruit and produce. A low income man in the Midwest a few months ago went to the hospital and was diagnosed with Scurvy! Yes, like the pirates illness. Why? He was only eating cheap, frozen meals 3x a day for the past 18 mos., no fruit or produce, and was severely vitamin C deficient! MDs diagnosis, not mine. Access to healthy fruits and veggies is critical to health but can be challenging given the expense. In comes hero organization Food Forward! They pair up with local home owners who have excess fruit or veggies. They have volunteers come out to "pick" their excess fruit. The fruit is then taken to local food banks in the area and distributed outward. How cool is that? I spent 1.5 hrs with them picking grapefruit in Woodland Hills. It was such a fun way to volunteer my time but manageable enough to fit into my schedule. I loved it and look forward to volunteer with this terrific organization again in the future. What I love most about this affiliate is how much they care about getting regular people involved. Some other affiliates I've had the chance to work with seem to value money and donations more, so they make it kind of hard for regular people to volunteer without making a big donation first. But Habitat SFSCV always tries to the people in the community to come out to builds. I don't mean to say that this affiliate doesn't care about raisin money. Habitat SFSCV is very active in involving the community to raise money - because without money, there'd be no homes.
