He really knows how to explain things so that you understand the concept which for me can be hard when you read it. He knows the traditions, the Sanskrit, the history. He teaches the devotional side to yoga as well as the physical side. If you truly want to learn the meaning of yoga in all its aspects , or just dig a little deeper inside, then this is the place for you. They also offer really great workshops that are one of a kind. The atmosphere is nice. It feels like an independent music label. One of a kind and authentic. The other teachers seemed friendly, the owner was totally approachable and just had this kind mannerism about him. the students were of all type from beginner to advanced who were there to learn yoga not do a fashion show. I didn't feel any judgment from this place. Just pure clean yoga. I am just bummed I do not live a little closer or this would be my studio of choice.

Yes, PF costs less and maybe gets a bad rep because they offer pizza Monday's and tootsie rolls at the counter. But I have to say. I was THOROUGHLY impressed with the Lapeer location and what they have to offer. Walking in, it's a standard size PF, and everyone at the front desk is very welcoming. It's the standard layout with cardio, weights, machines, etc. But what makes this place great? The machines are pretty new and they have QR codes you can scan to see how to use the machines. The treadmills are really nice, weights are nice, ab/stretching room, huge bathroom/locker rooms with nice shower areas and everything was really clean. I watched members make sure they wiped machines down when they were done. I had no idea they offered classes. Today I did the PF 360 strength class and trainer Mike is awesome! There's a variety of 30 min. classes that are easy to sign up on using the PF app. You use your phone to check-in, lots of great app features and honestly just blown away by how much PF has stepped up its services. Great gym, awesome staff, and glad I came back!

Sure, that is what a good teacher is supposed to do. People, by nature, will take the path of least resistance. Many of us who are overweight (read obese) didn't get that way because we frequented gyms often. We got that way because many of us purchased canned gym memberships that relied on us going and "working out" with no real structure. Prior to this time I was an avid gym goer, a runner, and crossfitter, trained by the most fabulous coaches that knew me best and still do! I came here during the time frame above, paid for full membership $150 and only had 3 sessions. I had no prior medical condition's except neck injury from Jan 2012 from a car accident during my first semester of nursing school. During these 3 sessions I was just doing as I was coached. However, my body didn't feel right while doing the movements, when I corrected to the proper movements that I was trained with before the coach said "Do it our way." Further, during a WOD one of the movements was diamond push-ups, I said "I have never done diamond push-ups," coach said "Just do it anyway, gravity will get you down." So I thought to myself well maybe he is right and on the other hand I have never done this before so how do I know I can't if I don't try. NEVER EXPECTING THIS: December 5th, 2014 I called the coach and explained my back is not too good at so I may not be attending for awhile something isn't right, further said though I was just unloading dishes and something must of popped. WANT TO KNOW WHY I TOLD THE COACH IT WAS THE FRIDGE, CAUSE I WANTED MY MONEY BACK, WHICH DID HAVING TO PROVIDE A DOCTOR NOTE. December 6,2014 in the 8am my legs were paralyzed, and I was rushed to hospital, stayed overnight and on December 7, 2014 I failed the physical therapy evaluation and doctor said "I heard you have a final exam tomorrow for nursing school, and I am trusting you will use proper body mechanics forever that you were taught because one wrong move and you never walk again." I was in physical therapy to gain my strength which comes from the Lord as well until the end of March 2015. Here I am tonight and as of now I can only do physical therapy exercises only, no gym anywhere, light cardio, and Krav Maga in order to defend myself if needed with the injury I have forever only activity allowed. I have been blessed since I can still do my passion to care for people with my nursing degree which I'll have December 2016. I CAUTION ANYONE TO ATTEND CROSSFIT HERE. JUST A HEADS UP.

I have been going to Pilates faithfully for over five years. I have had a severe car accident, in…read moreaddition to a past ski injury that affected my knee. Intense cardio is difficult for me. I needed to find a gentle but safe way to workout. I followed their advice and started coming faithfully several times a week. I noticed as the weeks and months went by that I was stronger and more flexible. It also has helped me with some of my pain issues and made me far more flexible and much stronger. I admit like many women, that I have some insecurities about my body. Yet I felt welcomed at the studio. I noticed there are all ages and sizes of women and that you don't have to be model perfect to do Pilates. All of the teachers are very nice, caring and knowledgeable and are able to modify the routine based on your abilities. Some might think Pilates is an extravagance. I don't see it that way. I view it as a wonderful gift to myself and I feel that I am well worth it. You really should give it a try! (My second review about my husband and Pilates). I wanted my husband to experience it too. Honestly the first time he came was under duress just to make me happy. Before we went he grumpily exclaimed he would only be attending once "just to get me off his back" LOL. After we finished our class, he told me "that was really cool, and I like the stretches and think it can make me stronger". He continued to come with me every week. As our lessons progressed, he soon noticed that he was far more flexible. I noticed that his posture improved. Not long after that he commented that his tennis elbow had disappeared. He was happy to ditch his elbow brace. In addition his tennis game improved as well as his lateral movements. He has been a Pilates fan for years and the only misses if he is sick or out of town or has a meeting. I like it because we are doing something fun yet healthy together as a couple. PS Eron is a great teacher. She is very thorough, passionate, caring, and always in a great mood.

The swim…read morelessons were a joke, they lined about 30 kids up along the side of the old pool, and there were only two instructors who took a turns doing very easy, ridiculous practices that served no purpose. For that kind of money, in 30 minutes (doing mostly waiting) my kids only got maybe 3 turns to jump in or be dragged on a floaty with a bored "teacher" giving no verbal instructions. That aside, there is no family changing room. The staff LET me and other mothers take our young sons in the Women's locker room for safety, then allowed miserable, geriatric women to berate us and suggest our children from ages 5-7 were actually erotically looking at them. There are places with curtains to change, which is where we did our chemical showering-off. Maybe those kind of women should think about practicing decency also. There were only 6 classes. When I tried to tell staff about the harassment, name calling to me and perverse sexualization of my little son, both managers Rachel and Ryan publicly shamed and humiliated me with my children at my side, in the establishment. They let onlookers gather and then suggested we not come back. The "owner/manager" Ryan even going as far as to saying he looked at (and I quote) "boobies" as a child. Their demeanor is grotesque, the business is outdated, the lessons are subpar, rules do not apply to all, they discriminate, allow customers to be harassed by older members and the managers are improper, unprofessional and humiliated my son for suggesting things he didn't fully understand as though he did anything wrong by following mommy to a locker to lock up his shoes and towel during swim class. Unbelievable!!! They prioritize their dinosaur members cashing in over you, and over your children there for a safety lesson. I would avoid this place at all cost, it is an antiquated sinking ship.

The instructors are truly amazing. They are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and encouraging. I've learned not to be disappointed in myself when I've have to take short breaks during the workout because the instructors make the environment so supportive. Pure Barre GB is truly a gem and I'm so blessed I found it!
