The peppers and onions were absolutely amazing, and the whole sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. I also had the shrimp and grits, and they were the best I have ever had--ever. They were savory, rich, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. You can tell the chef cares deeply about both quality and presentation. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and generous without being overdone. One of my friends had the drunken chicken salad, and it was marinated and cooked perfectly. I saw several dishes come out while I was there, and I never heard one complaint from anyone. The desserts were also incredible. The butter cake was rich, had a beautiful texture, and was drizzled with raspberry sauce. I also tried the bread pudding after hearing people talk about it, and while the presentation surprised me at first because it was cut into little cubes, the taste was absolutely wonderful. There were a few people at the bar and you could easily hear what everyone was saying. I was very aware of the noise level and it didn't feel comfortable speaking at a normal volume. At some point I have to imagine some sort of music gets played. It's just not in the mid afternoon. I will say the service was friendly and fast. The didn't have any beer on draft which was kind of a bummer. I might dip in again at night. But I don't see myself showing up again mid afternoon. It was super awkward and weird.
