Located in the small town of Rocky Mount NC, this coffee house is by far one of the most incredible cafes I've ever been to in my entire life. They have created such a beautiful, tranquil and welcoming atmosphere which is only rivaled by their menu. Their delicious pour-over coffee was an exquisite base for dipping their banana bread and their breakfast burrito was just perfect. Larema is a cute coffee shop i found in Rocky Mount, NC. Upon entering, you can see the place is big! Lots of seating and comfortable options too. They had so many good coffee drinks but I decided to go with just regular coffee. I ordered a banana slice and an empanada. I am an absolute banana bread lover, I make it by scratch often! I had to try their take on it. I also grew up with empanadas, my family cook them all the time, so I had to see what their take was. The coffee was great I'll say. The banana bread was a bit dry for my taste. The chicken empanada was unfortunately way too greasy and their dough was not my fav. I did not finish it. The staff were very nice here. My buddy and I stopped here for a quick bite before hiking a nearby trail, and it was a great find. The coffee was excellent, the milkshake was delicious, and the sandwiches were fresh and tasty. Super cute space. Easy and free 2 hour parking making it easy to grab coffee and go. Comfortable seats, which isn't the norm all lots of places today. Service was friendly and prompt for a local coffee shop. My husband was very content with the build your own sandwich. I like the options they had for that which included avocado, jelly and the usual things you would expect like eggs and meat . He got the salted caramel coffee. My home routine is toast with some type of protein. So I was super happy to be able to get the thick cut wheat toast, with their strawberry jelly that seemed homemade and a fried egg that I threw on top. I opted for the cinnamon toast crunch oat milk latte. Their only milk alternative with oat milk for those of you out there who do milk alternatives. My only complaint that I have at most places is that the coffee doesn't come out hot enough. Perhaps young whippersnappers can't handle hot coffee‍, I dunno. I loved the cute mugs and have some serious plant envy. Would love to know what I am doing wrong with my snake plants at home I digress. It was sweet but the bit of spice keeps it from being too sugary. Swirlygig was yummy also, I expected it to be a sweet treat, and it was much more balanced and espresso forward which was a yum surprise. Avocado Toast was delicious, too slim on the tomatoes and radish though. Breakfast Sandwich- mehhh - bun was thick and dry, Turkey Sausage was not warm enough, will opt for the croissant next time. We stopped here for breakfast and it was delicious! I had Waffles with butter and maple syrup, Turkey Sausage, and Golden Milk Iced Latte. My niece had a Bacon & Cheese Bagel, Chocolate Cake (to-go), and a Tropical Smoothie. And, my sister enjoyed a Chicken Salad Sandwich and a Tropical Smoothie. The Chicken Salad had apples and grapes in it that gave it a tasty crunch (she gave me a taste). They also had gluten-free bread for my sister who is gluten intolerant. I will say, I've surprised myself yet again. How on earth I didn't realize this coffee shop existed until the day after my oldest son graduated college from this area is beyond me... This is a beautiful, spacious coffeehouse near the Event Center. It's old school and eclectic at the same time. Various music selection overhead. It's a little pricey at $5 for their smallest cup of coffee, but from what I was told everything is made in house. So support local it is! The only pet peeve I had was when I checked out. At the very end of checkout, I was about to enter my information for frequent customer updates when the brunette with the pigtails abruptly turned the Square so I couldn't type anything in. I've been to Larema numerous times since their opening over the years and loved that there was hope for a good, non-chain coffee shop opening in Rocky Mount. I've ordered lattes, their baked goods, cold brew, nitro cold brew, and pour overs. Up until now, I have never left a review because the drinks I have gotten have been mediocre or sub-par, with me telling the baristas about the bad drinks and them not caring at all (not offering a refund, re-make of the drink or another drink). My most recent visit (first week of July 2024), I ordered a pour over (as they had black and white beans, which are the best beans I've ever had) and the barista (Charlotte) without a doubt made the best coffee I've received at Larema in the 4 years I've been going. read more

My family and I stayed in Wilson for the night and wanted to check out a local coffee shop. Based on reviews, we decided Larema Coffee House in Rocky Mount was the way to go. Larema Coffee House is located in downtown Rocky Mount in an old bank. The bank has been transformed into an inviting, cozy place for people to hang out and drink coffee. It appeared there was an area where music could be played. There was seating in the bank's vault, which was chillier than the rest of the shop. To the right of the register was a pretty large "shop" which included bulk coffee, Larema merch, coffee supplies and local products. Larema serves Counter Culture Coffee. I ordered a mocha for my wife and a vegan latte (with oatmilk) for myself. The latte arrived first and included some fantastic art. I took a few sips... impressive. I really liked the balance of coffee and steamed milk. I packed the mocha for my wife and headed back to the car regretting only that I didn't have more time to spend here. Decent prices, vegan options, a great latte, in an old bank setting...next time I'm traveling through Rocky Mount, Larema will be on my shortlist of places to go. All this love, why not 5 Stars? Sadly disappointed. This cafe/shop has a nice aesthetic and good looking food. However, the service was, unfortunately, very poor. I tried to order food but the server at the cash register didn't seem to want me to do that. I was reminded more than once as I tried to order that food would take 30-40 minutes. I had no problem with the wait; however, after stating this fact twice, and receiving a poor response, I simply ordered a croissant. Nearly one hour later (just shy by about 5 minutes), and my number having never been called, I went back to the counter and asked for a refund for the croissant and the tip I left. I felt very bad asking to refund the tip, but I just didn't think it right. Anyway, I will never return despite if my business may bring me back. Driving through town and ran across this gem.. very nice Ambiance and was nicely greeted.. not really much of a coffee drinker.. but they serve other beverages. I ordered a couple of things just to try.. sorry I didn't take any pictures.
