I stopped by Anne's while visiting family. I heard they had the best donuts that just melt in your mouth so I had to try. They have a drive thru, which is convenient. Service was quick and friendly. They had a special going on while I was there for two dozen donuts. As tempting as the offer was, I decided to only get a dozen to share. The price point was still really good without the offer. The donuts looked great. They didn't really taste fresh to me but they were still decent/edible. read more

I was truly disappointed with the customer service, the lady that was working there looked miserable and annoyed. Stopped through on my drive from VA to SC. I got there around 9am on a Friday and the donut selection was a little underwhelming. The glazed donuts appeared lackluster although I could clearly see they were homemade because of their thin/irregular shape. I only ordered a half dozen which the woman serving me said was $9 and change. Because I really wanted local donuts, I paid but I thought he price was absolutely outrageous. I see another review that states they also got a half dozen for around $8 so I'm not sure if it's inflation or what. Either way, the woman just offhandedly said the total as if she made it up on the spot. Also, she wasn't particularly friendly. I didn't expect top notch customer service because the interior of the shop seemed "casual" but her coldness was noteworthy enough. Especially for the price. The donuts were good, had they been fresh I'm sure even better. The chocolate glaze is thick so that might be too sweet for some. The regular glazed seemed dry - the glaze was flaking off as I was eating them. read more

They seemed to possibly have been preboxed already, because the lady came back to the window so quickly with them. She was not very friendly either and did not even say thank you. Love their donuts! Hate their hours and that they ALWAYS run out of donuts. They have a convenient drive thru window, which is great. They offer custom baked goods, so you can order cakes and other specialty items. They just need to make more food. This has been a problem for the last 20 years, and we have made them aware of this countless times. If you come in the afternoon it's likely that they will be out of half their items which is annoying. Bakery items are super inexpensive to make, so make enough that you can fulfill all customer needs so you don't lose a customer who comes in 3 times in a row and leaves with nothing. read more

I had a taste for donuts and have not had Anne's in probably 20 or more years. The atmosphere inside was pretty hum drum.. The only person working was filling an order in the drive thru and she never really greeted me. At that point I really wanted to walk out. There wasn't much to choose from. I decided on 1/2 dozen...3 glazed..2 chocolate covered and 1 raspberry filled. The amount was 8 bucks and change.. For the size and quality it definitely was not that fulfilling.. Anne's is very popular in this area and really the only private owned donut shop in RM. I don't think I'll rush here again while I'm in town, but I guess if you want a couple donuts on the go it could not hurt to give them a try and support a local business. read more

Stop here! Oh my goodness, the White Cream, the glazed, the chocolate, oh my goodness. These were some of the best donuts I have had. During our vacation we were somewhat obsessed with donuts and I'm so glad we drove to this place. The staff were so friendly and it was obvious this was a popular place, car after car headed through the drive through while we sat and enjoyed our donuts. The coffee was good but I would encourage them to brew it a bit stronger. It's personal preference but with Starbucks and other coffee houses people are becoming used to a bolder taste. read more

Ive been hearing for years how good this place is and today I finally decided to stop in. The girl at the counter was nice enough. They had one shelf of just glazed donuts that looked thin and just blah. The entire rest of the case was bare. I can't say I was surprised because this is Rocky Mount after all. The other case had muffins, cookies and brownies. Just the typical flavors and cut very small. I chose a sugar cookie and two double chocolate brownies. They weren't moist or chewy or even fresh tasting. They tasted like exactly what you'd make out of a box. There's nothing on their website claiming anything is homemade so who knows. I expected a lot more given this place has been around forever. I won't be back and am happy being a diehard dunkin fan. read more

Stopped into Anne's for some donuts and they were ok. There is something in the water here that prevent dough from rising so like most donut shops here other than Krispy Kreme the donuts are not a big as you see most places. Stopped here on our drive from Boston to Savannah. 8 minutes off Rte 95 south and was soo worth it! Only the drive-thru was open so we couldn't see the donuts when we ordered. What a disappointment! I ordered a birthday cake for my son 2 days ago and was told I could pick it up today. Just called and was told that they don't have a cake for me and have no record of my order. They were also unwilling to try to get a cake made for me before closing today, even though they had over 4 hours until closing. The young lady on the phone had a very nonchalant "oh well, too bad " attitude. I didn't even get an apology. Not a great way to run a business if you care about customer service. This is a great place to get a cake! Every year my birthday cake comes from here, as does my wife's. While i'm not a donut fan from Anne's, everyone else considers them great. To me, they are too sugary. I will occasionally enjoy one of the cream cheese ones though. If you're looking for instant diabetus, stop by Anne's Donuts! They're GREAT! read more

Anne would be deeply disappointed and saddened to see how badly this bakery has declined. I ordered a birthday cake and picked it up this afternoon. It was the ugliest, pathetic, ONE LAYER round cake, ever. A 6 year old could have taken a tube of frosting from Food Lion and squeezed a better trim than this had. To add insult to injury, it was in excess of $18! I'm going to dispute it on my credit card because this was a colossal mistake. I will never, never order another cake from Anne's Donuts. And hey, folks, their donuts and donut holes are NOT all that, and not even close to the quality of Krispy Kreme. Major Fail. From the last 3 times that I have went in the early part of the day they were sold out of traditional glazed donuts. The customer service was very horrible. The cupcake was hard as a brick. I repeat they never have any donuts available in the early part of the afternoon! But the woman that took my order was a bit aloof. She was more concerned about the drive through then a customer standing in front of her. This local business began on Pine St. As a teenager, I would go buy donut holes and pop them in my mouth as I drove home. They are now on Sunset Ave with the original recipes. Their donuts don't have to be chewed; they melt in your mouth. They have the best strawberry cake anywhere. I have purchased Birthday cakes, a wedding and groom's cake and was quite impressed. Attention to detail is so important when baking a cake for special events and they take the time needed to get everything perfect. When you order a cake, when they bring it out and open the box for your preview, it will definitely bring a smile to your face. Any trip to Rocky Mount should include a trip to ANNE'S to get donuts for the ride home. read more

Anne's donuts is a local bakery. They have more than just donuts. They bakes cakes, and other decadent goodies:) I have ordered an array of their goodies for a client meeting and they loved it. I have also ordered some snacks for my visitors at my open house and I never have leftovers. If you need a simple sugar rush, donut, or a family gathering I would highly recommend Anne's donuts.
