I travel for work for a plasma donation company and I must say what an awesome find for dinner!! The bread for the delicious sandwiches was so yummy! Service outstanding! Highly recommend and will return when I come back to.the area again! The Philly Cheese steak was the bomb. And the ham and cheese was delicious too. Wish I wasnt so full.. We took our two year old daughter to try this establishment this past weekend. We were excited to see that they offer Honey Hill Farms frozen yogurt, which is what our old home town had as well. Unfortunately, Pitstop charges almost 20 cents more per ounce, and for three cups of yogurt it cost us almost $18. That is insane! A couple of machines were not working properly, and the screens above a few also seemed to be on the fritz. When I pumped out some hot fudge, a bunch of liquid came out and into my bowl. I told the girl working behind the register and she assured me it was milk and threw my cup away. I've never heard of someone putting milk into hot fudge to thin it out (I used to work in a frozen yogurt shop when I was in college) but whatever. The place seemed really dirty and dingy. That, along with the prices, and we decided we would not return. read more

Neat little frozen yogurt/ice cream shoppe. They have lots to offer in ways of cold, refreshing treats! Edy's ice creams, Dippin' Dots, and frozen yogurt. They also had food but didn't really take the time to read the menu but I saw a sign for hotdogs 2 for $2. A lot of the frozen yogurts were not ready so I waited for a bit for the birthday cake flavor. The employees were working on it but I decided to try another flavor (cookies and cream). As I was checking out one of the workers gave me a small container of birthday cake for-yo from a freezer that was behind the register because I didn't get to try it. It was very thoughtful and unnecessary but very sweet! Both favors were very good! I will be back! read more

My husband and another couple, along with their 8-month old son, visited this establishment on Saturday, June 11 at around 7:30pm. Please note that my review is only regarding their frozen yogurt and service. We did not get food nor did we get Dippin Dots/Edy's ice cream. Although they serve that there, I would not go to a frozen yogurt shop for Edy's ice cream. When we walked in, no one said hello. We walked up to the Frozen Yogurt machines and almost all were flashing red. We stood around waiting for someone to help us, finally, someone made eye contact. We asked if they were out and she said it just means they are low when they are flashing red. It's really bad that most of the machines were low, especially on a Saturday night but alas, I gave it a try. My husband and I each grabbed a cup, I tried for blueberry (nothing came out), chocolate (nothing came out), peanut butter (nothing came out) and vanilla (nothing came out). I gave up and decided not to get any. My husband tried banana, watermelon, and strawberry. All were disgusting. There were flies on the toppings and the counter wasn't clean. We paid around $6 for three small samplings and no toppings. We had to clean off the table we sat at because it was sticky, the employees watched while we did this. Here is my main issue other than most of the yogurt being out. I made a review on their Social Media page and was attacked by several parties. The owner considers herself a "Manager/Owner/All hands on deck worker". I've maybe seen her there once (mind you, I don't go often). She seems to employ many teenagers. Guess that's good for her business, people with lack of business experience. Although, I'm sure those kids are happy with getting money to spend. The manager stated: "if we are unable to give you the flavor that you want, we would direct you to Harris Teeter next door and go buy yourself a tub full". She also stated that "the majority of my customer are happy with our service and products" "you are the minority". She then explained all other products she serves. Again, that's great, but all I wanted was frozen yogurt. There are 12 machines, I tried 5 and none of which worked. Of course I'm disappointed that NONE of the flavors I wanted were available. Wouldn't you be? I was then bullied by some of her loyal patrons. One woman noted "maybe if you had better taste you would know what good food tastes like, and you wouldn't be so miserable. Your post represents more about how miserable YOU are, then the problems you feel you had with Pitstop." "... if you can't find something you want, you have bigger issues then ice cream. Maybe you should revisit some of your personal decisions before you leave another inaccurate review about someone's business." Are we still talking about Frozen Yogurt? I was also basically told I wasn't allowed to leave a bad review because "I could not get a flavor of ice cream." I was also told I was low class, a bottom feeder, and petty. The owner then thanked these bullies and told me to basically drop it. She also stated that she never told me to take my business elsewhere and deleted the post where she said that. My review on her social media page has now been deleted, by the owner, as all they want are 5 stars and don't appreciate constructive criticism. I would also like to point out that I am not a minority when it comes to my unhappiness with this establishment. Several people who saw the review made their own person comments. Some privately messaged me to tell me that agreed with my comments but were too scared to say anything as they were afraid they would not be bullied. In conclusion, I urge you to visit this establishment to form your own opinion. I do hope you are able to get the flavors you want. If you don't, please don't complain or you will be attacked for having an opinion. Last time I checked, this was a free country that thrives off of social media. This wasn't the first time I've had an issues here. Every single time I have been there machines didn't work. I did try a wrap there twice, the first time it was good and the second time I ordered it, it was completely different but the owner told me I was wrong. The owner did state that she would rectify the situation by making sure her machines work. I'll never know as I won't be supporting them, ever. read more

The Pitstop Shoppe is one of my favorite places to go hangout with friends! It has a fun, colorful atmosphere! Their froyo is delicious and they have so many different flavors to choose from. Name a topping, they probably have it! Also, they're food is quite good as well! Their fries are especially good in that they're fresh cut, large, and crispy! My friends and I also like that they have Dippin Dots available if you're not in the mood for froyo. read more

Decent ice cram. There was some confusion and I mistakenly got ice cream, but wanted a milkshake. At the counter, The girl explained that milkshakes had to be put on a special cup. Husband asked the girl at the counter to put it in a cup, but was told I had to put it in a cup next time I visited. What was so difficult about putting ice cream from one cup to another, I do not know. Just arrived in the US from Japan and I am visiting Rocky mount and just wanted a milkshake. I finally had a craving for frozen yogurt and decided I would go check this place out. It is good enough given Rocky Mount is a small town with little to no thriving business/restaurant/bar/club culture here. The shop is in a prime shopping plaza, is huge with comfortable seating and colorful decor. I've been to plenty of TCBY self serve shops in other cities and they all greet you and ask if you're familiar with self serve and walk you through it. Even if you know how, it's a nice courtesy and a means to acknowledge and greet your customers. The guy working the counter barely said hello to me. That is generally not how folks are here and it turned me off. Their website lists sugar free yogurts may be offered but there were no sugar free flavors the day I went. TCBY usually always has at least one. I chose three different flavors and all of them were not chilled enough and came out like mush. Again, not impressed. It cost me over four bucks and when you get weighed yogurt it's usually expensive but b/c I knew it wasn't even good, it just made the experience worse. I didn't even get a thanks for coming or have a good day. I love food and if I could seriously consider throwing the whole thing out and going back home, that says something. I have no desire to go back and if my sweet tooth hits, I'll probably get something at Harris Teeter or I may try the other frozen yogurt place across town. Passing thru town and decided to stop here, looked like a quaint little diner. Two teenage girls running the register, which meant slow, inattentive service at first, although very friendly. I came in for yogurt and was unexpectedly surprised to find everything I could think of to crave my sweet tooth, including a very impressive menu of hot food items. The atmosphere was happy and easy-going, the staff was extremely helpful, and the prices were reasonable for what you are getting. I was very pleased with how clean everything was, and the huge selection of flavors and toppings for my yogurt. There are dipping dots, newly added hard-ice cream with hand-made waffle cones, smoothies, coffees, and more. Definitely worth going to! read more
