While other companies will sometimes be stellar, Maid for You has been completely consistent everytime, and the prices are totally reasonable. Their price is flat: $20/hour per person. So the other reviewer who said that Veronica told him the price is the same whether you have one or two people misunderstood her - the overall rate per hour per person is the same, but you don't pay the same for one person as you'd pay for two. And seriously, he was expecting two people for three and a half hours for $65? So a total of 6 and a half hour of labor for $65? When you consider how much goes to the company itself and insurance and what not, you're left with slave wages for the cleaners. Apparently Veronica felt she was perfectly justified charging her normally low prices instead of slave prices - good for her. Every time I've used them, everything was left gleaming and fresh, without that heavy cleaner smell. They even organized my things so everything made more sense. Even though she was out of the country at the time, she promptly returned my call. It was decided that she would visit my home to establish a price for a required deep clean prior to starting an every other week schedule. When she visited my house, she was very thorough and quickly pointed out all of the ways in which my family lives in a disgusting house! Kidding. She was not at all judgmental but definitely set an expectation relative to what would be cleaned upon that initial visit - all of the window coverings (plantation shutters), all window sills, door frames, all baseboards, wood floors (washed and dried by hand), tops of kitchen cabinets (people actually clean that??), all light fixtures, exhaust fans, etc. I'm going into such detail to make sure it is obvious why I truly expected my house to be spotless. The first day, I was to have three people for an unlimited time (Violett said they would clean until all of the work was done). They were a few minutes late and only two showed up (one was sick). No big deal. The two ladies were extremely pleasant, and I had very high hopes. After they left, i looked around. Some things weren't done or weren't done well. Ok. Maybe they were exhausted by the time they reached the last of the rooms. Violett called later that day to see if I was satisfied. I told her that her people were really nice but I was a little surprised that a few things weren't done well or at all (particularly in the kitchen). I was surprised because my expectation had been set when Violett first looked at my house. She said that they must have been tired because it is not usually a job for two people but that they would start in the kitchen next time and do a deep clean of the kitchen. I thanked her and felt her customer service was appropriate. Well, along cake visit two. About twenty minutes or so late. Not fatal but a trend perhaps. I had a few very specific things I was looking for after they left. They missed almost everything they missed the first time around (except the cabinets!). I hadn't told Violett about all missed things, because I wanted to give the team another try. Things missed (both times): the exhaust fan in my boys' bathroom, window sills - two dead flies in each of the kitchen windows (had to actually open shutters to see), cup marks on granite counters, plus rag marks from where the counters were wiped. I could go on, but I am truly not trying to be petty. And I am definitely not picky. I'm pretty relaxed about the house, actually, but a high expectation had been set, and it simply wasn't met. Again, Violett followed up, but I had to tell her to remove me from the schedule. Maybe it just depends on who you get....

After I submitted my one-star review, within 24 hours, another 9 five-star reviews were submitted, and my review disappeared. Highly suspicious!!!!!! USE THEM WITH CAUTION! If you express any dissatisfaction about their service, they have an attorney and might threaten to sue you!!! Timeline : Prior to the cleaning: Daria: The estimate for the move-in/move-out cleaning for your apartment is two cleaners for 2.5 to 3 hours. Day 1 of the cleaning: The cleaners came in at 1:10 pm (appointment was 1:00 pm). I opened the door for them and left for work. After cleaning started: Daria: The girls looked at the apartment, and decided 2 hours was not enough. They would need the full 3 hours. Before 4:00 pm: Daria: The girls said the apartment was in bad shape so the would not be able to finish today, and they need to leave at 4 so if you want them to finish the cleaning, they will have to come back and cleaning it for another 1 to 1.5 hours. Me: What are left? Daria: The kitchen and the floors. After 4:00 pm: Daira: I know you are confused about the extra hours. We are not trying to keep adding hours so we can charge more, but your apartment is in really bad shape and we want to have the job done. Me: What if they still don't finish after adding 1.5 hours? Daira: They will work until they finish even if they exceed 1.5 hours. Me: Will I be charge for even more hours beyond the 1.5 hours? Daira: No. Therefore I scheduled the extra hours with Daria for the next day. In the evening: I visited the apartment and found a few things that are not clean that are supposed to be cleaned according Daria, including the bathrooms and the closets. I texted Daria about those. Day 2 of cleaning: The cleaners came at 8:10 am (appointment was 7:30 am. Daria called at 7:30 am and told me they would be there at 8:00 am). I opened the door for them and left. Daria came to the apartment at 9 am and I showed her the things that have been cleaned by them but are not clean to my eyes. In the evening: I visited the apartment again, and found the things that I showed to Daria are still not clean. In addition to that, the kitchen cabinet doors are still greasy and full of oil drops. The microwave and the oven are still completely dirty. Afterwards: Daria: Have you received the invoice? Me: Yes. But the apartment is still not clean especially the kitchen. You mentioned your team would do the job until my satisfaction. (Note that at this point I HAVE NEVER MENTIONED THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO PAY HER.) Daria: My attorney will be contacting you soon. I will be sending you a demanding letter. I will be disclosing the pictures of the apartment before and after cleaning. Me: I never said you didn't cleaning the apartment. I said your cleaning was not to my satisfaction as you promised. Daria: The microwave and cabinets are still greasy because they didn't have enough time to do the proper job! (My comment: remember that Daria promised that she would not charge more beyond another 1.5 hours if they had to take even more time to finish the job.) End of timeline. My thoughts: 1. I was fooled by all the 5-star reviews here. I did see some reviewer-posted pictures showing stuff being dirty, but there's no review associated with them. It was strange to me but I didn't think too much about it. Now thinking back, maybe the review associated with those pictures is really bad and was magically removed. 2. I never said to Daria I was not going to pay her. I just mentioned that she should keep her promise and finish the job. That triggered her having her attorney to demand the payment from me. 3. Who would have an attorney at hand that's always ready to deal with clients that are not willing to pay in time? I can only imagine how many unhappy customers they got! I believe that says something about the quality of their service. 4. I used a cleaning service not because I'm rich or too lazy. I'm neither. I used a cleaning service because I believed they were professional and would clean the apartment better than I would myself, and so I could have a nice and clean home when I moved in. I was wrong. I found that for the things that they didn't clean properly, I could easily clean them after my own experiments. The attached photos were taken after their cleaning, and show that lots of dirty things they left behind could even be wiped off with wet paper towels. 5. I understand cleaning service is a tough and underpaid job because I'm working class myself. That's why it was never my intention not to pay her. 6. If you just need regular house hold cleaning, please ignore this review because I haven't used them for that. They are probably fine for that according to other reviews.

For 30 years Mom had cooked from scratch practically every day in her kitchen, turning out steaming…read morebowls of gumbo, fragrant loaves of bread, big southern breakfasts, heaping platters of delicious fried catfish. Even into her early nineties, while taking care of our dad, she cooked, even though she herself wasn't well. Towards the end as her energy waned, her cooking never suffered but the cleaning did. When she passed away, we knew we'd have to host condolence callers and family. With so many other tasks to tackle following Mom's death, my sister and I knew we'd need help with the house. Best Friends Cleaning came to our rescue, fastidiously cleaning not just Mom's beloved much-used kitchen, but the living room, dining room, and a bathroom and family room on a lower level. The crew was friendly, pleasant, prompt, and worked the entire time they were at the house. And boy, do those ladies know how to clean! In just a little over two hours, the place was sparkling.
