Accessible store for comics, trading cards, manga, and many more nerdy things! I'm not sure if it's always the case, but manga is currently buy one get one 50% off which is an amazing deal! They didn't have everything on stock that I was looking for, but they still had an extensive collection. Their prices for Pokemon packs were nothing outrageous, and far better than regular scalping prices. I'm also a big fan of their coin pusher machine that has trading cards as prizes. I went there to sell some cards and the person in the "I am a lesbian shirt" who went through them low balled me so badly it was like highway robbery. I've sold cards here a few times and this is first time I've gotten them and they clearly have a scalper mentality and aren't fit to be buying singles because they were extremely rude and toxic when I said that one of the cards was worth as much as they offered. I intentionally said I didn't know how much I was looking to get to see if they would be honest and this person is a liar and scammer. The attitude they gave in response to my saying id keep my cards was highly unprofessional, disrespectful, and downright deplorable. They sell resealed Pokémon packs.. and I'm not talking about those vacuum sealed bulk bundles they try to sell to people who don't know any better. I will never come to this store again, and I highly recommend the rest of you avoid it as well. For those who don't know what a resealed pack is, they open it up first, remove any high cost cards, replace it with junk, then use a heat sealer to reseal the pack. And before anybody asks, no I'm not mad because I pulled bad packs, it was very obvious to me once I examined the pack. This is one of a couple comic books stores in Destiny Mall . Usually mall comic books stores focus mostly on new collectibles (ie pops Pokemon ect) which is fine and I get it. But here the first this I saw were comic books. They had a nice selection of graded and raw books. Also vintage toys and video games . DnD section and so much more . Excellent selection friendly stuff. Must stop if you are a nerd in Syracuse!! read more

Horrible experience. I understand that businesses are in business to make money but the offer I received for some comics I brought in bordered on criminal in my eyes. Recently I pulled out some comics I had collected sporadically over the last 46 years. I was passing through Destiny and saw this store, "Larger Than Life". I stopped in and spoke with Sammi who was very personable and helpful. I asked if they did valuation and whether they bought comics or would put them on consignment. She said that they do and I could come in any time and ask for her, Cole or Brad. I said great, I'd be back in the next day or 2 with some books for them to look at. Great interaction, helpful and upfront. I put some books together, about 47 to be brought in the next day. Prior to going to the store the next day I called up and spoke with Cole. I went through the same spiel and said "I understand that you're in business to make money, I just want to know if it's worth my time to come in and talk to you, I have a pretty good understanding of value and don't want to waste either of our time bringing books in if there wouldn't be a reasonable offer from the store. He assured me that wouldn't be the case and that I should come in. When I walked in I introduced myself to Cole, we went into the back and he inventoried what I had and did a valuation, which took about 30 minutes or so. When he was done he said "so what do you want", I said you know what I want, I said I wanted a reasonable offer knowing what they potentially can go for, of course with the right buyer and interest. I also said if you want you're welcome to cherry pick and make me an offer on whatever books you're interested in. He said "ok, $800." I said ok, for which books, he said "for the pile" I said excuse me, for which ones or one, he said "for all of them". I chuckled. He said "oh, I guess you have a number, what is it two grand?" I said excuse me? He said "what are you looking for two grand"? I said no I'm looking for a reasonable offer if you're going to buy all the books. He said, "ok, $800, what do you think"? I said thanks, I'll take the books back and leave. He said "what, they're only worth what I'm offering". I said thanks, I'll take the books and certainly don't anticipate coming back here ever again. I said to me the offer borders on being criminal. After some back and forth he huffed away. As he was walking away I asked for a card and if he could write the offer on it with his first and last name. He said "I'll get you a card, but I'm not writing the offer on it and you don't need my last name. I said no I'd like to have it to tell and show people what you offered and who you are, after all, you needed my first and last name to do the "estimate, I feel it's just common courtesy, especially if I'm going to be telling people about this. Needless to say he slunk by me handing me only a card. Horrible experience. Again I understand that businesses need to make money and that their offer for any type of collectible may be low. However, this was ridiculous. I'll leave it for you to decide. Below is a list of some of the books, I'm not going to list all 47. Condition be damned since this is always debatable. When you read below keep in mind some of these have been with me for 46 years, following me from place to place and state to state all in really good condition. Often they were both the first packed and unpacked. The offer was $800 for 47 books. I'll let you decide whether the store is friendly to collectors or friendly to their pockets. No offer of store credit, they check EBay for price guide but then sell in store for more than they said it was worth on E Bay.
