Despite the fact that this vivacious truck serves Pakistani street food, Seattle Met named Lari Adda one of the best Indian restaurants within the Seattle area, so I've had it high on my list of places to try. (Oftentimes, publishers loop Indian and Pakistani cuisine into the same category.) Before we get into the food, I must praise their fully covered seating area that houses five tables. Even in the rain and wind, you can enjoy your meal in a completely sheltered space! Any Washingtonian knows how important this is, especially during the wet months. Three of us arrived for lunch around noon and it was surprisingly quiet. No one else was by the truck nor at the neighboring Tikka Masala restaurant. One employee manned the truck, graciously welcomed us and we chatted with him briefly about the menu. He informed us of the most popular items and mentioned his favorite, "The Boti To My Roti" (chicken wrap). I was so close to ordering the "A Bihari Affair" (beef wrap), but when he said that was too spicy for him, that told me all I needed to hear. I wasn't going to take any chances, haha. Our order took about 20 minutes to prepare, which is pretty long considering we were the only customers. However, I had read about the wait times in other reviews and the one guy was cooking everything by himself, so I didn't mind hanging out for a bit. + BOTI TO MY ROTI ($12.95): Pieces of marinated chicken and slices of pickled onion rolled up in a roti flatbread. The chicken was lean and super tender, with a slight smoky flavor, and covered in what seemed to be a garlicky yogurt sauce with Indian spices. It had a mild spice and I liked the slight tartness from the onion. The roti was light and was a great vessel for the saucy filling. + CHIPAS ($5.95): This side of fries was deliciously seasoned and drizzled in a garlic mayo. They were hot and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. + EK DUM KARAK ($3.85): A piping hot cup of chai tea served with a biscuit. This was such a comforting drink on a cold day. The menu stated it's extra strong, which I didn't quite notice while drinking, but I did feel a little jittery later in the day. The biscuit was like a lighter and crispier version of a biscotti and nice to dip in the chai. Their menu also features various types of burgers and I hear they also serve a weekend brunch. My main qualm is just that the pricing is on the steeper side for their burgers and wraps, which are at least $12.95 each. All together, three of us got two rotis, one burger, one side of fries and two chai teas, totaling $53! My roti wrap was enough for me, but I think the average person would still be hungry after eating only that. Pakistani eateries are not abundant at all on the Eastside, so I'd still recommend giving Lari Adda a try if you're looking for something new and unique. read more

Halal food truck located in a shopping plaza and there's a nice plastic covered area with tables that you can dine in as well. Parking is as bit weird we ended up parking at the shell gas station across the street. Everything was spicy, zesty, and tasty. We had the Zalmi Chapli burger and chicken roll. Very flavorful curly fries. I highly recommend! A Bihari Affair, $10.95 - Soft, tender and spicy beef bihari roll paratha that packs a punch! Served with their signature green chutney. The chef asked us if we liked spicy food. We do, but "spicy food" can be subjective. When he noticed our hesitation, he said he can tone it down by lessening the chutney. What better way to determine their version of spicy, but to try it the way they would normally cook it! It is spicy, but it was tolerable for us. Very tender shredded beef. The Boti to My Roti, $10.95 - Juicy chicken botis (chunks) and onions rolled up in a wrap served with their signature green chutney and garlic mayo. I liked this better than the A Bihari Affair. Very flavorful and chicken was tender! Zalmi Chappli Burger, $10.95 - A classic beef chapli kebab burger served with their signature green chutney. Meat cooked well. Juicy and tender. Another flavorful dish! The portion size for each item seem small, but we split everything 3 ways and we were satisfied. Price seemed a bit much for what they are, but definitely worth trying. I was looking for something interesting to have for a Friday evening and was looking for foodtrucks on the eastside and decided to come here for its unique Pakistani cuisine. We ended up going for the below items: 1. Bihari Affair - rating 4/5- Spicy version of minced beef frankie which has good spice and nice collection of herbs and masalas. 2. Boti to my roti - rating 4/5 - Medium spiced version of chicken frankie. It was decent but lacked some of the dressing which left some of the chicken dry. I would suggest getting more of the dressing for when you order this. 3. Samosa Chaat - rating 3/5 - This was an average samosa chaat. Peculiar part about it was that it wasn't too sweet as most indian places serve it which made it a good change. 4. Kararay chips - rating 3/5 - This was very very average. It had some spices different than regular ones but not something extra-ordinary. 5. Paan - rating 4/5 - It was decent but was pricy for the quantity! 6. Gajar Halwa - rating 4/5 - This was tasty. I fly to Seattle often and I have never had a chance to try this food truck until now! I live in LA but don't have many options for desi food with a variety of items like this so I was on a mission to try this place! I'm glad I finally did because it did not disappoint. I went with some family so we could share various items. They have a bit of seating outside and more seating in a covered tent. There is a small parking lot and we were able to get parking because we went during the day. We ended up getting the fit faat samosa chaat which was as amazing as its name! It had the right amount of samosas and cholay with delicious chutney! Then we got three rolls which included a Bihari affair, the boti to my roti, and seekh kabobs- not attention! My favorite was the boti to my roti because it wasn't overly spicy and it was super flavorful! The Bihari affair is a bit on the spicy side so if you love spice, this is for you! It was still very tasty! To finish off our meal we had ek dum karak chai that came with a cake rusk with zeera. The atmosphere was lively, with good Pakistani music playing, and the seating in the tent was ample and comfortable. The cleanliness of the establishment was great, creating a pleasant dining environment. The order took quite a long time to prepare, likely due to the limited number of staff members working. However, despite the wait, the food was fresh and flavorful, which was a definite plus. I couldn't decide what to order but landed on ordering the Bihari roll, which was good but left me feeling heavy and full. While it was satisfying, it didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of taste. I also ordered the karai fries I which were delicious and served in a generous portion size. I absolutely adore this place! The modest-looking truck has planted itself near a shopping center and gas station. And though it is a food truck, there are plenty of seats inside of a decorated tent with cute atmosphere. My order was taken by a very patient and attentive staff named Azhar. I wasn't familiar with the menu and he took the time to thoughtfully explain and answer all of my questions. I particularly enjoyed the flavorful samosa chaat (dinner menu) and the smooth halwa chanay (brunch menu). The savory samosa was crispy, paired perfectly with the sweet and vibrant chaat. The deep-fried pooris and fluffy naans were flawless; in fact, every item tasted fresh and authentic. It's also worth trying out their dessert menu and chai tea which comes with a full biscuit! The chinese restaurant that never had any business but somehow stuck around forever. That joint. Its now an Indian restaurant... and right beside it in the same lot is this pakistani food truck. Two businesses in a lot the size of a gas station is perfect for providing ample seating and parking. There is also an enclosed gazebo that could probably seat 20. I dropped by to try some grilled kebabs but it was too early in the day. Early weekends they serve a brunch menu. I will have to come back for dinner sometime soon. This time I opted for their tawa fried minced beef with naan. Very spicy and delicious with good amounts of green chili and ginger. Not too overpowering in flavor either. Yogurt sauce was fresh. Disappointing visit after the hype I believed in. Half the items we wanted to order off the in person menu were not being served: the fries had run out, a new Korean fried chicken burger was not yet launched, Kabul express not available that day and a drink too. The food also took a really long time to be prepared. Overall we were disappointed because we lost 2 hrs for over marketed, underwhelming experience. Hopeless food today. The standard has dropped drastically. We were a group of 6 people and come for a Ramadan feast- it came out to be poor! The Iftar box was not even close to what the picture showed. No dahi balla and no roll Kabab. No Pakora. It had sandwiches instead! One Billoo Kabab was so odd that my nephew refused to eat it. The tent was not lit up (had to ask for it when it got dark) and no heating. The Thaa soda was replaced by Pakola- not acceptable! What is going on? read more

I just tried the shahi tukda as it is not readily available everywhere. It was horrible, some toasted pieces of bread dunked in milk.

We got the chicken burger and chicken boti wrap. Both had the same filling but tasted fresh and rich.

Ordered delivery. Got the chicken and the beef roll, plus the fries. Doordash didn't give an option to specify level of spice and this was SPICY. I like very spicy food, I can eat 5 star phad thai anytime though tend to prefer 3-4, at India Gate I have ordered 15 star, but usually go with a 5. I had no problem eating these rolls but the spice level detracted from the food rather than helping it and I am sure 90% of people would be unable to eat it. The food itself was okay, nothing great, nothing terrible. The fries were seasoned like curly fries (they weren't curly), which was surprising as there was no mention of this and I much prefer regular fries. Overall I won't be ordering again nor going there. That said this was my first time order either of these items from anywhere so perhaps they are a good version of them and just not my thing--I'd probably try them elsewhere in the future but wouldn't seek them out. If I knew I liked them in general (and I generally believe I would) then I would have rated lower as they just weren't very good but I can't be sure so just trying to be as objective as possible and give a fair review. read more

Expensive and small portions but the general taste was okayish and the owner was nice. What we ordered: 1. Zalmi Chappli Burger- good amount of spice, very small for it being $10, not sure why the menu says it comes with fries because that's not included 2. The Boti to My Roti Rolls- wasn't actually boti since it was shredded chicken, they were basically just that shredded chicken, onions, white sauce and a hint of green chutney in 2 rotis. The chicken was cooked well but it wasn't anything special 3. A Bihari Affair Roll- tasty but not spectacular, good spice level 4. Samosa Chaat- reasonable, one of the better items. Good samosa quality, channa was fine, not too spicy but tasty enough 5. Shahi Tukrey- the biggest disappointment. Basically a few pieces of fried bread dunked in some oddly stringy milk (see the picture). But the pistachios in it were good. Also, they forgot to give this to us and we had to come back to get it. 6. Karary chips- ordered this as a side ($3 extra) with one of the boti rolls. For the price they gave barely any fries (see the picture) 7. Jalapeno margarita- this was $1 extra in addition to the $3 extra for the fries, this was one of the better items, not a margarita (no alcohol) but it has a good amount of sweetness and a good kick Our overall total was $61 which is really pricey considering the small portions. The taste was generally fine but nothing special. I was hoping it would be similiar to Zareen's (in Palo Alto, CA) but it was a disappointment. The owner was nice and chatty but she did forget our shahi tukrey and another customer's karary chips so we had to drive back to get it. The food has gone downhill. It is very very spicy and the taste is lacking. For the tawa keema dish I asked if the naan was fresh and not a pita bread and I was told yes it is fresh. The naan was a frozen one the you get in a grocery store. This is deal breaker. The naan was anything but fresh. Even a fresh pita bread would have been better. Just give a fresh baguette if you can't have fresh naan. Baguettes go well with keema. For the halwa puri the puris are flat like a chapati and soggy. Why do they have to roll up the puri when dining there ? It takes away 99% of the fun of a puri. The puris were not even fluffy. It was like a fried soggy roti.
