I can best summarize my recent purchase of a '16 Buick Enclave as simply the best experience I've ever had buying a car, and by a long shot. I've shared my experience with close friends and family members and I feel compelled to share a thorough review with my fellow Yelpers. Through this review, my goal is to recognize these individuals for their GENUINE commitment to outstanding customer service. By providing a detailed review my hope is that others will acknowledge this as a real experience, and give the folks at Laria a shot at earning their business and having the same experience I did. Companies like this need to be rewarded with referrals so they see the value in doing business the way they do. I wanted a front wheel drive SUV, which are few and far between in my home state of Wisconsin, so I expanded my search online to nearby states that were further south. And I found the '16 Buick Enclave that I wanted at a very good price at the Laria Buick Chevrolet dealership in Rittman, OH (8 hrs away by car). I spoke with the salesman, Casey B., over the phone and requested preliminary information. Since I would be coming from out of state, Casey offered to send me several pictures from other vantage points that were not offered on the website while paying special attention to any blemishes that I might notice when I see the vehicle in person. Based on the clean AutoCheck, the prompt and detailed information shared by Casey, and a generally "good feeling" about the quality of people I was dealing with I decided to take a leap of faith and book a flight into Ohio to see the vehicle for myself. Upon arrival into Ohio, the folks at Laria went a step further and offered to pick me up from the airport which I gladly accepted. I was picked up at the agreed upon time by the dealership's manager, Matt, who was very friendly as we chatted on the way to the dealership. We arrived at the dealership an hour before they opened, and was pleasantly surprised to see that Casey and Dan (in Finance) had both arrived early to provide immediate assistance and help me to get back home as soon as possible. This is especially impressive considering they were no doubt up late the night before watching the Cleveland Indian playoff game which had gone into extra innings! The vehicle was as clean as advertised, detailed in showroom condition, fully inspected, and in overall great shape. I took the vehicle for a test drive with Casey, who was very patient as I peppered him with questions about the vehicle and the dealership. When I was satisfied with the vehicle, we proceeded to finalize the purchase and the financing. At that point, Dan in finance had all the applicable paperwork already prepared. Furthermore, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Dan had negotiated with the banks to get me a full percent lower rate than what we had previously discussed! Even 50bps lower than any of my local credit unions. When Dan saw my surprise, he added "we knew you were coming a long way to see us, so we worked really hard to get you taken care of". After the financing was in place and the transaction was complete, Casey brought me back to the car to set me up with free trials of OnStar and XM Radio. He walked me through step by step how to work all the features of the vehicle, and even offered to set me up with Onstar on my other Buick I just bought a month ago from my local dealership (who neglected to take care of it themselves). When we were done, I felt completely satisfied and had no doubt that I came away with a fantastic vehicle at a great price. To all the folks at Laria, especially Casey, Matt, and Dan, who made my experience the most enjoyable I've ever had at a car dealership, WELL DONE. Keep up the great work. BUYER BEWARE ALERT ‼ if you decide to buy a vehicle At Laria Chevrolet, please take a recording of your conversation or better yet take a lawyer with you because these people will lie to You. I signed up for a car over a month ago. Steve told me I could get this card through GM with a $500 rebate if I signed up for the card never once told me that they'd put $1000 on the card and then I'd have to pay that. Why would anybody do that? Yes I signed it, Because I thought Dealers were honest ......I don't understand those papers I trust the Dealer to be honest my mistake with this dealer !!!!! I'm a 72 year old woman and have dealt with a lot of car dealers and this is the first one that has lied to me. I asked Steve not once not twice three times about this credit card. He never once said they were gonna put $1000 on it, he said it was a bonus for buying a Buick and trading in a non Buick, so now if I don't pay it off within nine months, they're gonna put their finance charge on it so I would of rather put the 1000 dollars on the car that I got financed myself and paid maybe five bucks more a month now I'm having to pay $550 a month for nine months for a car my mistake out of 72 years. This is the first one that got me. and it will be the last thank goodness now I'm wondering if their brand new car that I bought even has a warranty on it, because my daughter has reached out to Steve several times because someone keeps calling her saying she has NO WARRANTY on the 2025 she just purchased and he has never returned her calls like you got your deal see ya lady sad situation, the world nowadays has no conscience and I hope they feel good about taking a 72-year-old woman's money and Please don't respond to this. I had a terrible experience with [Laria Chevrolet ]. I spoke to 2 salesman- Ryan and Scott- regarding a car that they had up on their website. They assured me that this specific car is available 2 weeks ago and promised to hold it for me as soon as they get it back from the owner's garage since it was manager's special and was kept by him. I am from Jersey and I told them that I would like to finalize the deal as soon as possible. I waited 2 weeks, trusting their word, only to find out this Monday morning that they had sold the car to someone else without even notifying me. This level of dishonesty and poor communication is completely unacceptable. They wasted my time and showed no regard for their customers' trust. I had a frustrating experience with Laria Chevrolet Buick and wouldn't recommend them--or GM as a manufacturer--to anyone. My vehicle's 12V battery died after GM delayed warranty approval for a month by preventing my preferred dealer from performing the work. Chuck from Laria called me daily to get authorization for a $680 replacement battery, which I understood given the circumstances. When I finally got back in touch after some personal issues, he was apologetic about the frequent calls, explaining that they prioritize keeping customers updated. However, once he realized I wouldn't pay their inflated price (I bought and installed a replacement myself for $188 in 15 minutes), communication stopped. I didn't hear anything for over a week and had to stop by in person to check on my car. I was initially told a rental vehicle would be provided once the repair was confirmed under warranty. The next call I received, about a week later, was to say my car was ready with no charges, as it was covered by the manufacturer. When I went to pick it up and return the loaner (which my preferred dealer kindly let me keep after GM's delays), a different service advisor directed me to the cashier, who informed me I owed over $200 for diagnostic time. Apparently, their technician spent "a good amount of time" figuring out that an 8-year-old battery needed replacement after sitting idle for a month--that explains the check engine light and reduced propulsion power message both being on when I got in the car. I reminded them I'd been told there were no charges when notified the car was ready, and I hadn't authorized any fees. After being ignored at the counter for about 10 minutes, I left without paying. The vehicle wasn't repaired correctly the first time, communication was nonexistent after the initial push for payment authorization, and GM's bureaucracy only added to the hassle for both my preferred dealer and customers like me. I will never again take my Acadia here for service. I was charged 2 inspection fees for a problem I told them about. One inspection was half refunded because the 'problem' couldn't be found. The other was way overpriced for a leak fixture. Now it leaks worse than before and the light is loose it was not screwed back in. When I questioned why an oil change was over $300- Heather told me clearly my husband had agreed to the inspections because he signed the paper and it was an issue between my husband and I. I kindly thanked her for telling me how to handle my 43 year marriage. Not only was i extremely dissatisfied with the cost and the work done on my vehicle, the customer service was poor as well. I put a $500 deposit down on a vehicle that was in transit. The vehicle was delayed, so I found a different vehicle to purchase. The dealer refused to mail my deposit back because I paid in cash. They said I needed to come pick it up in person because they have a "cash deposit refund policy". After going back and forth with Andrew LeFever (salesman) for over a week, I asked Andrew to have the check ready that my daughter was coming to pick it up. She drove an hour to the dealer to get the check and it wasn't ready. They told her it would be an hour to get it ready for her and she would have to wait. She had to leave because she was going to work. At this point I still do not have my refund returned to me. read more

Edit: In response to your comment. Perhaps I am being unfair, that with adding your aftermarket warranty I wanted a total of 100$ off of my vehicle purchase under what you had it marked. The bald dude said no and didn't even ask anyone else quoting " I know what they will say". That is blatantly rude. Perhaps rates are different, but then again as I stated in my post. I had a PRE APPROVAL AT 3.5 from an out of state lender, WITH ME the day of and you guys flat out said no and pretended it didn't exist. I already have spoken to them for a refinance at far under what you put me at for the original loan with your inflated rate. As for your last comment about how margins are razor thin, perhaps you are right, but that doesn't mean you send your cars off your lot with no gas in the tank. That is flat out BAD sales practices. Red haired girl in service didn't know policy, told us the manager was new and wouldn't honor what he promised, even though he approved it on the phone in front of us because he wasn't there. Changed what we would have to pay for multiple times for the same service for the warranty. Shady shady shady!! Beware, go somewhere trustworthy, so many good dealers around who are honest! I drove 3 hours to look at the vehicle and was able to complete the sale within an hour. Andrew was working with a another customer when I arrived, but had my vehicle ready for me to look at and drive and made the whole process quick and easy for me. I chose this vehicle because of the aggressive pricing they had on it and I didn't need to negotiate the pricing down. I was shopping for a car, they had a very nice looking GMC Arcadia, very clean not to bad for miles on it. almost 15k except the check engine light was on, i asked if they would check on it and see what was wrong, they just kept telling ME to take it to a mechanic , which i didn't think was right they are the dealership not me. it took 4 days of convincing but they said they would look at it..duh.i checked with them every day for 4 more days, had a check in my hand and was ready to buy if all was good with the vehicle. So after that I went in and asked where the vehicle was. NOBODY knew anything...freaking sad service. The sales manager said he would see if he could find the vehicle and let me know, after 15 minutes i went looking myself, he was out in the service area drinking coffee and laughing with the boys..wow what balls don't know his name but he was the tall dude you would think he was in charge, the way he talked down to others while my wife and I were there. when he saw me he rapped it up with the boys from sale/service and said they would look at it today. OK is everyone getting the picture so far? We left and the next day they said the car was unsaleable, the catalytic converter was the wrong one and it messed up the car, so they would be wholesaling it, in other words, passing the problem off to someone else and not telling them of the problems...story ends here for me , i will NEVER purchase from someone so devious that they would just pass the problem on to someone else to and not disclose any issues the car has..this world is going to crap the last few years, and here is a good example why, they would have sold me the vehicle and never thought twice about ripping me off. The people there were friendly but my biggest concern was I went there to see what was wrong with my car and it appeared that they made whatever the problem was worse and they couldn't explain to me or wouldn't explain to me why that was how that was it went from being and not extreme immediate problem to I could not even drive my car. I went there because they were dealership and dealerships are usually recommended because of their quality but me personally I will not go back there. I'd been working a deal with Adam at Laria Buick for a couple weeks. We had it hammered out to a certain price. Before leaving to go to the dealership, I specifically asked him if indeed the quoted price was exactly what he was selling a car to me for. He assured me it was. I specifically reiterated to not fool me by making me come all the way to Rittman (I don't live close) only to jack the price up. He assured me he wouldn't do that. He let me take a test drive but beforehand, I asked AGAIN if the price was going to be what he quoted. He assured me AGAIN that it was and so I took the test drive. When I got back, he hit me with, "I made a mistake". It would be $1000 more than he put in writing through email to me. I guess psychologically he was hoping I'd fall in love with the car and just have to have it, regardless of the price hike. Since it was his mistake, he should've offered some way to make it right. But he didn't, other than apologize over and over that it was his mistake. He also said they weren't making any money on the deal! Adam, we both made a mistake today. Your mistake was giving me a bad price, and mine was for believing you and coming to your dealership! I should've known something was off when he asked if we'd like something to drink, coffee or water, and we chose water, whereby instead of 2 bottles of water, he comes back carrying 2 small styrofoam cups of warm water!! The worst! To compete with online dealerships and maintain the slime factor, some dealerships, Laria included, have started tacking on fees not mentioned at the beginning of the sales process. I tried to buy a 2017 Jeep Compass at list price remotely (in NOLA) with the help of a close friend. Before Chuck, our sales rep, mentioned the fees he told my friend he would not talk with him anymore. That's because Chuck had promised the list price out the door. They thought they could con me into paying the fees if my friend wasn't present. List the sale price you degenerates! I have yet to have a manager call me back to discuss the issue. Bought a used car from this dealership. Car looked spotless and the salesman seemed nice enough. I get home from the dealership to notice a headlight out and the back up camera out. I'll give them credit that they did fix both of these issues free of charge. However, the next day, while driving the engine light came on. It is a code for a catalytic converter and we live in a county with E-check. The part alone is at least $500. Dealership refused to fix it under their 30 day power train warranty as all that really covers is if the engine or transmission themselves completely fail. Did a little more troubleshooting on my own to find that the spark plugs were toast, the air filter was dirty to the point that I had to pull leaves out of it and the throttle body was disgusting causing the car to hesitate when accelerating. Luckily I'm mechanically inclined or I would have been looking at a steep repair bill right off the lot. If your going to buy a used car from these guys have a mechanic you trust thoroughly look over the vehicle as their inspections can't even find simple problems like back up cameras, headlights and basic maintenance. I asked the service dept. for records when they fixed the bulb and camera and was told they did not have any. Had to request them through the dealer website to find the only thing done to the car was back brakes, oil change and "24 pt inspection". Make sure you hook up an OBD reader and confirm the drive cycle is complete with no codes. I highly doubt the catalytic converter happened to go bad within 20 miles of driving. On a side note we looked at the vehicle on a Saturday, were ready to buy but because our bank that already pre-approved us was closed at the time of purchase we were made to either do a $500 deposit to hold the vehicle until Monday or choose their financing option which was nearly 6% higher interest than our normal bank. read more

They sold me a 2013 Nissan Frontier that supposedly went through an inspection process with a broken leaf spring and shock , not only was this dangerous but could have caused a serious accident ; the truck also minor damage on the rear bumper that I did not see at time of purchase ; although the salesman Casey initially seemed to be a decent guy he later turned out to be rude and would not respond to any messages : bottom line is I was sold a bill of goods by Casey in terms of insuring me that every truck was inspected and free of damge or it didn't go on their lot ; my experience with them was rush rush and high pressure ; when I contacted them about the damage they did respond quickly and fixed the leaf spring and shock but were and have been complete JERKS about the bumper, they went so far as to accuse me of causing the damage which is absurd as I discovered it the next day ; they also made a clerical error on my title which caused it to be held up and DID NOT register my plates which resulted in my driving around for a month with unregistered plates ; they also LIED to me about not being able to sell my trade-in on their lot which they did and made a sizable profit ; Think twice before dealing with this completely unprofessional and not all honest sweat shop read more

I bought a new upscale Chevy from Laria recently. Yesterday, I had an event where one of the tires was punctured significantly. I went to the trunk to get the spare tire and auto jack to fix the tire with the spare. To my surprise, there was no spare tire in the spare tire space. There was no auto jack either. I had to get a tire dealer to make the road side repair. I called Laria and, per there request, visited them with the car for inspection. I complained that someone there had taken my spare tire and jack. They claimed that their cars do not come with a spare tire, you would have to order one with the car. Nobody told us this when we bought the car. I asked about the jack and their response was "If you don't have a spare you don't need a jack". I'm 84 and have owned many cars and they all came with a spare tire. I assumed there was one and never checked. I think this is a real rip-off and intend to follow-up with further action. read more

I bought a used Bolt through Adam Webb. He wrote everything down, with regard to cost, by hand on a single piece of paper. I already had my financing options in order (ALL BUYERS SHOULD DO THIS!) and he threw the keys at me. After getting lost on the test drive I finally got back and there was a wobble on one corner and a big scratch. He gave me a discount for the scratch and agreed to fix the wobble. Upon my return I found he had replaced all the tires (that he apparently stole off a different vehicle). My vehicle was a lease return and the guy put THREE different types of tires on it before he gave it back to them!! That was in September 2019 and the vehicle is still a riot to drive. I had the maintenance expenses of washer fluid and tire rotation since then. Anyway I told Adam after we agreed on the price I wouldn't be getting any of those nonsense fees and bogus insurances dealers sell...and the finance guy actually cooperated with my wishes. Some of you might require smelling salts about now after hearing that...so Adam is very straight-forward, though he did not appear to be old enough to have a driver's license... read more

I have done business with many car dealers but I have found the one I will deal with in the future. I was not intending to exchange my vehicle when I took my 2013 Spark LS in for service, but Dan Killough and Jeff Miller made me such a good deal that I drove home in a brand new 2016 Spark LT. I could not be happier with the whole experienc. I have dealt with Laria's service department many times and have found that, while having to have your car worked on is never pleasant, they make it as good as possible. So, if you are planning to purchase, lease, or just have work done on your car, going anywhere other than Laria will be second #2 at best. read more

Took my truck in for service in early december 2014 for 3 things: oil change, broken windshield washer motor and a rattle in the front end. Important to note that it was unseasonably warm. The oil change was fine. I was told that my washer motor was fine but that there 'was a large chunk of ice in the resevoir' and that everything was working fine. The service rep told me that the tech 'stuck a rod down the resevoir and pulled up a large chunk of ice.' I was then quoted ~$900 for two upper ball joints. While on the way home I tried the windshield washer and as I expected, it did not work. I inspected the washer resevoir and saw that due to the narrow opening and curve in the neck that it would be impossible to stick anything in the resevoir let alone 'pull up a large chunk of ice'. Ill be going to a more honest dealer next time like Premier GMC. They fixed my washer motor. Laria left me in a potentially unsafe position if it turned cold and I could not clear the salt off the windshield. read more

Here's the deal with Laria Chevrolet. I read another review on here about the guy with the ice in the reservoir and that sounds about right for these guys. You should look for another dealer who will be honest with you. I bought a used car from them that had a 30 day warranty last year. 2 weeks later I lost a ton of tranny oil. I took it back and they told me I had a bad seal which they replaced free of charge. Fast forward 11 months and the seal goes bad again. I go to another shop and they tell me that I have a bad bushing and it has damaged the axle. They say that it looks like the bushing was bad for a while and caused the seal to fail. So yeah Laria, your used car had a bad bushing and you decided to give me a new seal and tranny fluid and send me on my way. Because this dealership didn't want to eat into their profits on my used car sale I am now left with having to pay for a seal, the bushing AND a new axle. I am guessing that had they replaced the bushing last year that the axle could have been saved. By them not dealing with it then they deliberately allowed me to drive around a whole year ruining the axle. So yeah, these guys don't deserve one star and they don't deserve you business. Thanks to them It's costing me a ton to get my car fixed. read more
