Apparently, they do not have access to 8" gutters, and I was told they didn't have the equipment to install them anyway. They can only do 6" gutters. Maybe I am wrong, but I would have thought that would simply require a different size wrench if anything. Anyway, it very much seemed like they just did not want our business.

In addition, I had contracted with the for snow removal but the driver would cause damage to my lawn. Each time that I mentioned that to DeYoung, as required by my contract, the driver damaged even more of my lawn, ignoring markers and driving an entire truck length into my lawn. I decided to give notice to cancel the snow removal contract and look elsewhere for that portion of my service. Today I attempted to submit my summer contract for lawn mowing. I had signed a contract in the fall for landscaping this year. My e-mail was returned stating that DeYoung had chosen to not honor my contracts and to cease services. Why - because I let them know that their snow plow operator damaged my lawn, as required in my contract, and let them know that I was not happy? In my opinion, they were unprofessional and didn't honor their own contract requirements and were malicious in cancelling the contracts because of an issue caused by them. Maybe the nephew who took over the business needs more experience and lessons learned. To be clear, the landscaping and lawn mowing crews were amazing.

On 2/28/24 or area was the recipient of severe storms with embedded heavy hail and high winds. Just east of us a tornado touched down in mostly open farmland and did extensive damage. A year ago we had them build a 10x65 addition on our house so my handicapped spouse wouldn't need to use stairs to the basement . The new roof on the addition leaked inside; they redid it. It leaked again; they redid it. While they finally fixed the inside leaks after 3 attempts, a year later the new roof is still leaking into the eave. Their ONLY solution is for us to pay to put on a metal roof, which they offered to put on. Being retired and on a fixed income, that's not a viable option, so we're stuck with a brand new leaking roof. Each time the roof has leaked it's never their fault, and that's how it ended. It's not their problem. They said we signed a waiver of liability for the roof, but that was on a separate contract for another roof repair before we realized what was going on. Joe estimated $450 for the job and warned me that it would be more if they found damage after removing the shingles, which we both thought was quite likely. They found that one section of decking and one rafter were badly rotten. They took pictures of the damage, sistered in a new rafter, replaced the rotted decking section, took pictures of each repair, and replaced all the shingles, flashing, etc. as I'd requested. The total bill for the job was just $530 ($80 over the original estimate without the decking and rafter repair). I am very happy with the work done and the price.

I felt like they didn't want my business but my neighbors used them so I tried a few more times and finally got Jessie Cunningham and his side kick to show up for an inspection and provide me a proper quote. Here is the email I got from Jessie after he send me a quote: "Hello Trevor, I was just thinking about you and wanted to touch base with you to see if you or your wife had any questions and to see where you are in the decision making process for the roof project. I am here for you to be your project partner and want to do anything I can to make the project work for you. Let me know, Thank you" Pretty nice follow up. I was taking some time to talk to the wife about his $20k quote and thinking about it and replied with this: "$20k is way more than I thought this project would cost. I'm going to have to check around to see what others in my community paid and do some comparisons before I pull the trigger." To my surprise Jessie rudely responded: "No problem, that price is technically only good for 7 days anyway do to price increases. I understand wanting to check around for a cheap roofing company and I know we are not cheap so I am not offended if you can't afford us. I just wanted to stay in communication so I didn't leave you feeling like you weren't taken care of. I know you were persistent about getting a quote right away so I'm glad I could make that happen for you atleast. You should have no problem finding a cheap company cause there are many of them out there but please let me know if you need any assistance in the future." My response: "There are many things in life that I won't go cheap on and buying a new roof on my home is not one. I don't intent on going with a "cheap" company. Honestly I was going to use your company but after your insulting email I'm definitely not. Just because I have a budget in mind doesn't mean I'm too poor to afford your prices.
