I got the best of both worlds worth excellent tasting gumbo and jambalaya. I ordered the Pick 3 appetizers: chicken & andouille sausage gumbo, jambalaya, and "Who Dat?" Cheese Bites. The pick 3 appetizers was worth every penny. The cheese bites had a a bite for sure. The food was so good and filling I had leftovers. The waitress was amazing and kept the drinks flowing. She wished me a happy birthday and even brought me a birthday beignet with a candle in it. The parking can be a little tricky. Make sure you know when free parking is available in the area or else you're looking at $10. Also, I knew this in advance but there is an automatic 20% gratuity charge on parties 5 and up. The main restrooms are down the stairs and creatively decored.

We tried a few beer tasters and I liked Ciderboys recommended by our waitress. It happened to be happy hour so we ordered sweet potato waffle fries, chicken & andouille gumbo, and Louisiana Cajon jambalaya off the happy hour menu. They were not the best I've had but they were still good. The portion size was decent, more than enough for both of us to share. The ambience was great. It got busy as the night went on. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us frequently. Overall, I had a good experience.

Overall I had a pretty good experience at House of Creole. I dined at the bar on a weekday evening…read moreand was able to order fairly quickly. Since I was in the mood for something warm with seafood, I went for the seafood etoufee. We don't have a lot of Creole food where I'm from, so I wanted to make the most out of my Cleveland trip and have some while I was there. The food came out in around 15-20 minutes and was very yummy. I was a little confused because the server called it a seafood jambalaya instead of etoufee, but it was listed correctly on my receipt so maybe those terms are interchangeable. There was a generous portion of crab meat and shrimp, and I enjoyed the flavor of the broth--flavorful but not too rich or strong. I ordered a blueberry mocktail as well and enjoyed that too. The interior was pretty nice, and they had some sports playing on the TVs. Looked like a good mix of bar seats, smaller high tops, and bigger booths in the back for all sizes of groups.

I feel like if it's national oyster Day and customers come in for oysters the waiter should've clarified the special or offered it. Overall the service was slow, despite sitting at the bar. I didn't find the oysters to be worth the regular price of $16. I've definitely had much better. The ambiance is cute, it's giving grass walls. I'm not sure I'll be back, because I'm not satisfied with my first experience. If you pay cash, they ain't give you coin change back. There's also an automatic 20% service charge added to checks.
