I parked at Eaken Park across the street (don't tell anyone but there were plenty of parking spots on a sunny Saturday afternoon) and crossed Prosperity Avenue to get to the park. You'll see hikers, walkers with dogs, joggers, runners, bikers and even the occasional stroller along the trail bu it's less crowded than say the W&OD trail so you're not constantly dodging bikes, strollers and roller bladers. Much of the trail is shaded and runs along a creek and you'll see houses/backyards nearby but it does a great job of feeling like you're in the woods rather than almost in someone's backyard. I didn't see too much wildlife, mostly lots of squirrels and humans but no snakes either so that's always a plus and the bugs weren't too bad for a May afternoon. Don't expect any Instagram worthy views here if you're into that (I've never used it but my wife done sometimes) but it's a solid and not overly crowded place to hit the trail and get some steps whether you're just doing the park or going further along the traill.

They are very well maintained. Also the community garden is a nice touch. A lot of youth and adult groups host events here. Parking is definitely available. Most from the area are familiar with it, and where it is, but to non locals it can be confusing to find. One problem though, is people come here at night to drink beers. I don't particularly find that appropriate at a park, especially one with kids and others going here. Yet that does happen, and I hope our public safety folks will charge all found here.

It's close to a number of apartment and condo communities. Parking is a cinch, and the playground is basic, but good for little ones. There's nothing worth driving miles to get here for. Yet if in the area, comfortable grounds to read a book. The basketball court is extremely well maintained. Have gotten several games of HORSE in. Tyson's is quite a cluster, but this provides a reprieve. If in the area it's basic but can offer some recreational opportunities.

They have dog bag spots so you don't leave the dog poop around. For PeachTree residents, this park seems to be great for families during the summer. Americana Park is not a traditional park with trees and benches, but provides convenient access to…read morethe Accotink Creek for fishing and is a transit point for the Gerry Connolly cross-county trail which is a network of paths that cover more than 20 miles in Fairfax County. The area has limited space for about 15 cars to park. You'll see a little league baseball field (for Annandale / North Springfield) to your right as you approach the area. The location is right next to the southwest intersection area of the Beltway (I-495) and Little River Turnpike (Route 236). Driving access to the park is from the eastbound side of Route 236 on local streets. I'm not sure it's worth coming here unless you enjoy freshwater fishing (my son came here in late November 2021 for the release of brown trout) or play baseball or like to ride your bikes in the area north of the Aubrey Moore REC center. But the easy in-out car access for fishing is a huge plus for this part of Fairfax County!

Great location, and a solid park overall…read more I was hanging around in Falls Church today. This park caught my eye, and I said why not, let's check it out. Word of warning. Narrow turn into the road that leads to the lot for the park. When using Google Maps it seems to direct you a bit further in the main road. Ignore that; make a left when your gut tells you it feels right to. I came around 5 in the evening and the sun was to set soon. So I parked real fast in the semi-vacant lot, skimmed over the play area at front and made a beeline to the nature trail entrance toward the left side. Suffice it to say, never a dull day. Not disappointed to say the least. Walk was long and varied. My first time at this park so I just let my shoes do the walking. Went up the grassy knoll straight ahead, but further in to the side trail on left it gets too muddy. I didn't bring my hiking boots, so I said phooey to that, and surrendered that notion without further ado. Long winding roads down a passing nature trail. I remember crossing a small bridge, and that led into a view of stepping platforms overlooking a river or trial. I hopped on those circular blocks and made it over to the other side with ease. Grand tour of the place and then led into a quaint residential neighborhood. Whilst it was nice, the day was winding down so I had to wave adieu. Back again and a brisk re-hop of the circular land pieces, made sure not to trip or fall into water. Crossed the bridge back. Saw some folks on the way and they were just chilling and passing by. I walked into new and divergent paths that branched out and broke off to new frontiers. I would've loved to follow that trail of cheese down a ways, but alas had to head back. I got lost briefly and that owes to my being green and newcomer and going down too many paths; it's like getting spun around and then asked to point the way. I had Google directions on, so I found my way to the lot eventually after all. Not sure if I caught the sunset, but if not maybe next time. I was just rushed as I had to be somewhere before 6. So I couldn't even stay the hour. But overall, great park and trails. Nothing earth shattering mind you, but a solid and worthwhile nature retreat if ever there was one. I'll definitely swing by at least once again, it seems a good spot as any to bring a dog or pet on the walk!

Nice neighborhood park with picnic areas, restrooms, tennis court, basketball course, a baseball…read morefield and a nature trail. The trail is pretty good for a neighborhood park and goes a decent way as it connects with some others but crossing the stream on the stepping stones can be a little tricky for some people, especially if they're wet. It's worth a look if you're in the area but not really worth a special trip if you have other trails nearby.

This is a small pocket park that is located in between a couple of neighborhoods and dates back to…read more1994. There is a small area that you can park at if you are driving there, but I think most of its visitors are from the surrounding neighborhood. The park is buried in the woods. It has a lot of shade. They do not have picnic shelters but there are picnic tables with grills placed around the park. The park spans about 5 acres and is has a network of paved trails that feeds into the W&OD Trail and the surrounding neighborhoods. I was fortunate to see a bunch of deer during my visit. I was about 100 to 200 feet from them. It was a nice treat. You may also see a few squirrels here as well The park's playground has some decent equipment. The area is lined with wood chips and has an area with rubber matting. As every playground should, you will find some benches for parents to sit and take a load off while their littles play. There is a medium sized jungle gym with monkey bars, and slides. A small jungle gym with stairs and net climber, and slides. There are also rocking animals, a small play house, a spin pole, a bank of toddler swings, and a bank of traditional swings. I like this park for some reason, but I think that it is more of a neighborhood park than a destination park. I was the only one there during my visit and it was a nice weekend day. This is definitely an option if you are looking for a nice little park to duck off to and bring the littles to play for a bit. If you are lucky, you may see some wild life too.
