We had a new roof from LH several years ago. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive but the company that made us feel the best about the work they were going to do. On time, on budget, cleaned up after themselves and it was clear their workers were not casual hires like many other roofers. Several years later we had a gutter issue and they sent out Mike to quote a fix. Turns out it was a simple blockage that he fixed and wouldn't take payment. A different gutter company had given a several thousand dollar quote but had clearly not even looked. This totally backs up our 'good feeling' about LH. A tree fell on our house damaging our metal roof during the bomb cyclone. Haight was one of the only roofers to respond to our call for help. They provided a reasonable and fair estimate and finished the repair in the promised timeframe. Their workers are friendly., skilled and professional and cleaned up after. Larry Haight (LH) did our roof 22 years ago and at that time they offered a good value for their work, when the time came we had them quote our new roof and were very disappointed with the high pressure sales style and the fudging of facts, they claimed they used a better grade of plywood but, having been in the home improvement business for 10 year, 3 of which I was a lumber buyer, I know that all mills follow the same standards for CDX plywood. In this super completive market all roofing companies are buy their plywood from the same mills. When it came down to the winner for our business it wasn't LH, I was disappointed that they have changed so much but we found a new go to roofing company. read more

I did have a real soft spot they came out and tarped as soon as I had the first of several delays and reschedules due to poor weather or unavailable materials due to covid. The Larry Haight's team replaced the roof on our 1979 Sammamish Home with Certainteed brand asphalt shingles. These guys are super professional, communicate well and do a perfect job. Unlike some vendors, they took the time to discuss and address important details like attic ventilation. All of their installers are employees, they don't sub-contract out to other companies. There are a lot of ways to cut corners when installing roofs. If not done properly, your warranty is not valid. Whenever possible, check the website of the product a vendor is installing and confirm the installer is listed as a top-notch installer. Long story short: Based on what we encountered today, this company doesn't stand behind their work or care about the impact their mistakes have on customers. AVOID. Larry Haight's has been contracted by my condo complex for some ongoing projects. While working from home today, I heard an ungodly noise and rushed into our stairway to find that the roofers had punched a hole in our vaulted ceiling. No attempt was made by the crew to come and see what happened. I attempted to get their attention outdoors, but was forced to start calling our complex manager and several Haight numbers before they promised to send the project manager over to take photos and assess the damage. I cancelled my meetings and waited only to be greeted eventually by a confused crew member - not the manager - who just looked up at the ceiling, shrugged and said "I don't know what happened." I asked what the next steps were; he didn't know. I had to demand a phone number for someone else on the crew, and it still took several calls from me and our management company to get any kind of meaningful response. They've now left me hanging all weekend because their contact was "out for the weekend" at 3PM on a Friday. I attempted to explain to the supervisor when I finally got in touch that having this hang over my head (literally) is bad for my health as I'm to be avoiding stress due to high blood pressure, but all I got was a "we'll call you back in 15 minutes" which never materialized. No manager ever showed up, no photo was ever taken by the Haight staff of the interior damage. The crew was unhelpful, unprepared, slow to respond to the error, and do not seem committed to getting this fixed or providing any transparency. They also don't seem particularly apologetic for upending our lives (the supervisor mentioned a fix might take THREE to FOUR visits?!? Will Haight be paying us for the lost work time to provide them access for those repairs?!?) I have no idea how they're going to make this right, between the stress causing adverse health affects, the potential lost work time, and the physical damage. They couldn't even be bothered to give us any specifics before leaving for the weekend while we have to live with that uncertainty. AVOID. read more

In 2006 we had Larry Haight's come out and replace our comp shingle roof. It was a moderately difficult job in that the house already had three layers of shingles over laths. They tore all that off, put down plywood and then put on the new roof. It also needed soffit vents and a vent at the roof peak. Aside from a few minor punch list items, we were done and happy with the outcome, price and service. Fast forward to February, 2022, and the kitchen fan vent began leaking. Haight's had guys here within 3 hours with a temporary but effective fix. 2 1/2 weeks later, having waited for a dry spell, they came back and did the permanent repair. I'm happy to say there's no more leak. First rate service! read more

We scheduled an appointment to meet with the representative. On the day of the appointment, the representative Randy called and said his appointments ran late and wanted to reschedule. I said we can meet later that day. So we decided to meet at 2pm instead of 1pm. At 2:20 pm still no show. When I called Randy he said he stopped by before 2 pm, didn't see us so he dropped off some paper material and left. I was surprised that: 1) He came early and 2) Not even bother to give me a call saying he was there. Over the phone he changed the story and said he would come as soon as he can and by 2pm! I am upset that he lied and didn't show intention to meet at all. We waited two weeks for the appointment and being understandable when he said he couldn't keep the 1pm appointment so we waited for him for another hour. Not only did he not return the favor, but didn't even bother to call or wait til 2 pm like what we agreed upon!! What's up with that?? And he even hang up the phone on me!! I don't know what kind of company that is, but is not the kind I want to do business with. read more

Hands down the most professional, honest, and fair roofing company out there. They've been in business for over 30 years. Did a huge project on our roof. I'm a read every word of the fine print person and they patiently went through everything with me. Their bid was incredibly detailed down to the types of nails they'd be using. Other companies gave a very general bid (harder to come back a them if they did a poor job). This was a complete reroof down to the frame and they worked full 10 hour days from the day they started to some 4 days later when it was completed. I see other roofing companies nearby take weeks to Complete a basic re-shingle job. They even credited me $1000 on the contract I agreed to after work started when they found they could re-use some materials already on my roof (how honest is that!). They have a 20(?) year WORKMANSHIP warranty (very different from a MATERIALS warranty). Most other roofing companies have a 5 year workmanship warranty. I've since had them come out once to make the downspout of the gutters less loud and they sent someone out with no complaints and no charge. These guys can get booked out a couple months out so give yourself a time buffer for this. read more

We found Larry Haight via Angie's List - they have some of the BEST reviews on there. We compared their estimate with two other roofers we found off Angie's List and they came in around the same price - but we really wanted to go with Larry Haight b/c of the extra time, care and explanation the estimator gave us. Then, when we shared the other co's estimate with him, he took it back to his office to "see what he could do" and came back with an offer that beat the competitors so it was a slam dunk choice to hire them over the others. Our roof looks BEAUTIFUL - it's cedar shingles, which they completed within 5 days. They're coming back this week to install new gutters as well. Plus, for no charge they replaced the cedar shingles on our neighborhood's mailbox stand! They took special care of our landscaping and there was absolutely no sign of them ever being there when they left! (except for the gorgeous new roof of course!) We found out from our delighted neighbors that they mailed each of them a set of earplugs to "apologize in advance" for any noise annoyance created by the re-roofing. Very clever marketing idea - but also a nice touch showing that extra special care. :) I highly recommend this roofer to any of my friends, neighbors or fellow Yelpers. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND - AVOID! I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend Larry Haight's Roofing (hereinafter LHR) due to the fact that I had a less than stellar experience, to say the least. I contracted to have my roof replaced by LHR on a two story home in Sammamish, WA quite some time ago. I have not written a review due to circumstances beyond my control, but that does not render my experience any less poignant or compelling. The problems I encountered were so significant that I believe that they will give pause to any homeowner that is considering using their services in the future. BUYERS BEWARE! (Caveat Emptor). The story is too long and complicated to give it justice here, but here is a brief overview: FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE CONTRACTED SERVICES: My wife and I entered into the contract as the winter months were approaching and expecting significant rains (traditional in the Northwest). LHR agreed to 'tarp the roof' the very next day and use the tarp during the removal and installation process to protect the home that was already experiencing some leakage (the reason for the roof replacement). The tarp was never installed and torrential rains caused significant water damage as a result. FAILURE TO REPLACE THE DRAINS DURING THE REPLACEMENT PROCESS: The drains were removed and left off of our home for a number of days as torrential rains pummeled our residence. This significant oversight caused significant water damage to the laundry room and required replacement of the sub-floor, flooring and the lower 4-feet of the four interior walls. LHR took no responsibility for any of the damage and refused to participate financially in the repair. I called Larry Haight personally out to the residence and he had the audacity to tell me that the water was coming from below and was 'CLIMBING' the walls. This after providing him with detailed photographs of the disconnected/removed drain spouts running from the gutters to the ground floor during construction and torrential rains. Absolute non-sense! FAILURE TO ADHERE TO SAFETY PROCEDURES AND PRECAUTIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION OF THE DEMO AND INSTALLATION OF THE NEW ROOF: One of the workmen that was and integral part of his crew fell off of the rear of the 2nd story roof for the fact that he had no safety harness. Fortunately, he survived. THE FINISHED PRODUCT: To be completely honest, the finished product was actually decent. The real problems were with safety and lack of accountability for the damage done to my home during the process. BOTTOM LINE: The job was unsatisfactory. I had to take LHR to court and attempt to force them to do what would be expected of any business with even a mediocre level of integrity. Unless you desire to do business with a firm that has no accountability, I would strongly recommend that you use some other roofing firm. If they will do it to me, they will likely do it to you. An amazing experience from start to finish. George- who we first met- was direct/honest and very knowledgeable. Initially we thought we were going to go with a more expensive shingle with a ridge-but George raised the issue about living in the Northwest and moss forming on the roof-didn't try to up sell us. Also discussed the need for new gutters/skylights - and by the time we were all said an done- the quote was the same as two other vendors for the roof only. There was a little delay getting started- in part due to COVID. Finally got the job going. David- project manager- checked in with my wife every day. They did find a lot of rotten plywood -which did add to the final cost- but job took twice as long. Job site cleaned every day-as promised. So happy with our new roof. Wife had a cough/scratchy throat for 6 months-docs couldn't find the issue-ALL symptoms resolved within 3 days of new roof going on!! A horrible customer experience during the estimate process disqualified this company from further consideration. Their process involves having a high-pressure (bad!) sales person come to your home to deliver their observations (good!) several days after the estimator takes measurements (bad). The salesman started throwing personal insults alleging my failure to understand warranties when asked for clarifications on why their pricing was over 20% higher than their industry peers. I told him that I was offended by his tactics, stated that it wasn't worth our time to continue, and asked him to leave. When the sales guy left the property, he willfully and deliberately left our yard gate open, creating risks for the pets he knew lived here. In our opinion, this employee's behavior serves to foreshadow what their post-purchase experience is like. Beware. read more

We were happy when Larry Haight did a small roof repair for us about ten years ago. Wish I could say the same about their recent visit. When the gentleman arrived to bid a repair job (replace split shakes) he began sharing how he remembered doing the last repair job "on the leak above the bathroom". We've never had a leak in the roof, a short ridge cap section was loose and moving in the wind. Fair enough. He then said "well I can't get up there to do a proper bid, I'll have see if they want one of the younger guys to RUN AROUND ALL OVER up there, that roof is too steep and it's wet". (Yes it's raining mid May in the PNW, hundreds of homes in our the area with same pitched roof, same builder) I quickly knew where this was going. It's difficult to get a bid on a cedar shake roof repair, contractors insist the roof needs full replacement, a far more lucrative job. I explained that we had upgraded (at the suggestion of a Contractor friend) for pressure treated shakes when the house was built. Roof is now 18 years old, has no overhanging trees and was properly and gently cleaned (not pressure washed) 10 years ago. With repair and replacement of split shakes it should conservatively last another 10 years. He laughed -"you're lucky to get 20 years out of THOSE SHAKES" and "I'll see if they want to have a young guy go RUN AROUND ALL OVER on THAT roof". -I completely understand that with the strength of the Puget Sound housing market Re-roofing is a sellers market right now. Please don't insult my intelligence and waste my time insisting that the roof is at the end of its life and needs replacement. Just say "we aren't doing repairs, only replacements". (The home next door, same age as ours, WITHOUT pressure treated shake, recently sold and an inspector for the BUYER certified the roof for another 5+ years) read more

My third time interacting with them; a new roof over 20 years ago at my former house in Woodinville and now twice at current home. The last two times, superb service and no charge. A couple of years ago three different companies told me I needed a new roof, the fourth one was Larry Haight and they were firm my roof is fine and just needed a cleaning. Today, what I thought was a shingle problem was a bit of flashing that was bent back into place. No charge. And they told me my roof was in good shape. If I could give this company no stars I would. I normally don't write reviews but my interaction with this company warrants one. I reached out due to an unusual emergency situation that has me and my three children forced out of our home. The employee who answered the telephone was unhelpful, uncaring, and unwilling to find answers or give a referral, and out and out rude. I have worked in customer service my entire life nd felt the owner of the company should know. When I emailed him, Michael Haight, sent me a scathing email back insisting this employee was fantastic at her job and that I was upset just because she would not simply make one effort to provide additional information. He also called me childish. I reached out to another roofing company who also could not help me but sympathized with my situation and eagerly put me into contact with someone who could. We are so please with our new roof. It looks fantastic. We have even had neighbors compliment how nice it looks. We were given a bid which was comparable to the other roof companies we had out. What made Larry Haight's Roofing stand out to my husband was the customer service. Professional, honest, no up selling from start to finish. It only took 3 days to complete our new roof w/ new skylight. They even worked on a Saturday which doesn't happen very often anymore in my opinion. We ran in to Randy & Heidi a couple weeks before our project start date at a local restaurant. Randy recognized my husband and stoped by to say hi. When we went to pay our bill Randy & Heidi had picked up our tab without our knowledge. That was so kind of them. When the project was complete we were so pleased with the clean up they did. They even picked up leaves in our backyard that wasn't their responsibility to clean up. They left the area around our house looking better then prior to their arrival. Having a new roof really makes you see how awful our gutters look. After we have the house painted this summer we will definitely have Larry Haight roofing come out to replace our gutters. The estimator was nice on site yet the sales person was trying to 'overpower' me....I know what the CertainDeed material is, the subject house is one of my rentals and I said I'm not keeping it for another 50 years. Then he asked me if I want quality or price. I replied that I am trying to find a middle point to balance, as this is a very small house with building grade of 7, I can not use Bill Gate's roof material grade on it....very true statement to 98% of us working class right! Needed an estimate to replace gutters on our house. We called Larry Haight roofing because they work on metal roofs. Estimator came out and did a walk around. Next day we get a call that they don't work on metal roofing so can't do the gutters. Their website has multiple pictures of metal roofs they install. I suspect the job wasn't going to make them much money so they lied about working on metal roofs. Their loss. We will find someone else. read more

Pros: Had them come for gutter repair. I waited for about a month before they were able to come (I had similar ETA from other places as well). The price was fair and they did a good job keeping me up to date. The lady who answered the phone was patient and friendly. They were also the first company to provide an estimate. Cons: When the guy called to inform me that they were coming on the day of the repair, I asked him to help take a look at another section of the house and see if he can help repair it as well but I don't think it was looked at and I didn't hear back from him. To be fair, it wasn't scheduled work and the guy may not be in a position to make last minute additions. read more

I had a typical experience with this company with respect to the cost, lead time etc. Yes, they are expensive and take a long time. Yes, they didn't follow my contract without me making them. What made my experience unacceptable is that I was billed for work and materials not provided. They used an artificially high number when adding a change order for 40 sheets of roof sheathing. When I went to verify the one visible section, I found they had only changed half of the wood. I personally verified this by crawling into my attic and counting them. When I tried to resolve the issue through email and phone calls, they denied all of my claims simply out of hand, even though I could prove it to anyone. I also found out they were supposed to get a permit to change the sheathing, since it's structural. They didn't. And that would have been to solution since a city inspection would have verified they replaced what they said AND that it was the right amount. Now they are threatening to put a lien on my house if I don't pay in full. What a bunch of crooks! Stay away, it's not worth the extra effort to manage them. read more

They repeatedly rescheduled , but cashed my 50% down payment over 3 MONTHS in advance of actually doing any work. This company over promised and under delivered. Had a full roof replacement by Larry Haight's Residential Roofing Company just last June. Every thing about the project was handled timely and professionally. No upselling or gimmicks. I waited to now to review their work since I wanted to see how well the job stood up the the rainy season. I am happy to say there has not been a single issue. They re-roofed my garage that due to its age and design I thought would be impossible to seal up. These guys nailed that too. It was a large complicated roofand it was finished on time and within the stated cost estimate. Their cleanup between work days was amazing far more meticulous than it needed to be. Price wise they were very competitive and when you factor in the garage I feel like I got a bargain. read more

We turned to Larry's Haight's Residential to replace out gutters and this was the beginning of a huge headache. Our house is old, and as it turns out we needed additional work before the gutters could be completed. The project should have never been started (now that I've learned what to look for), but instead they moved forward with the gutters barely hanging on to the house. The heavy snow pulled the gutters away from the house, but thankfully they didn't fall on the cars. They tied us to an additional $4500 project in order to get the job done. All they talked about was the money, never once asking on the progress of the house. The actual work, now that it is done, is satisfactory. Their guidance was terrible at best and shady at worst. Do your homework and know what needs to be done before moving forward with this group. read more

After commitment to do the work I felt I was misled. Throughout the entire experience there continued to be a great lack of communication which ultimately led me into a worst situation that I began with. Work was rendered and only solution offered was to "Replace the Roof." I was not informed initially of what the precautions may be if they were to pursue WITHOUT replacing the entire roof. Only after they were 80% done were these issues brought to my attention. Sadly they never once conceded to these circumstances, offered options, nor took any accountability for the circumstances in which I was left in. Final correspondence was "without replacing the roof, there is nothing we can do for you." No accountability or compensation was ever offered or addressed. Even without reducing the cost or fixing the issues. My disappointment is directed more upon how I was treated and frowned upon, as though I should have known better. Evil! We signed a contract with them for an $8800 roof. The first day they started work they came back with a $5100 change order and the work was already done. They did not give us the opportunity to negotiate or decline the additional work. Their salesman misled us about the scope of potential changes and their idea of a compromise is allowing us to select a payment plan. read more
