With an upcoming play date planned between myself and a gf, I was happy that this particular park was picked for our meet up. First things first, this park is MASSIVE! Delano Manongs Park is broken into 10 parts- YES, I SAID 10!! This includes a small and large dog park, multiple gardens, a fitness station, and a number of play structures to keep all your little munchkins happily occupied. The park is very well kept, the restrooms are very doable, and with its large size, there isn't that congested feeling you get with other locations. On top of the many perks, there is a large field to kick or throw around a few balls. The only flaw- and might I add that it is a big one- is the lack of actual shade. Your relief from the sun's powerful rays is limited to the gazebo where the benches are or using the large flower structures as a shield. 5/5 stars all in all. This is lots of fun for kids of all ages.

The park is divided in two: big dog and small dogs. Its mostly just dry dirt with some tanbark along the edges. No poop bags are provided however, there is a spot for some tennis balls and a water fountain along with a big bowl. Theres 4 benches mostly parked under the shade of big trees so you can expect a bit of seating. Parking right next to the dog park is pretty limited as it's mostly just street parking along Piedmont Road. No food or drinks are allowed and people, for the most part, follow the rules. Sometimes people bring their medium/large dogs into the small dog park so do keep an eye on your dog. The park is pretty well kept and clean throughout despite no bags being provided. Most of the people who frequent this park seem very kind and warm. If you have a social pup, I would come here and check it out.

I briefly visited from out of town for a breed specific meet up so my experience is not that of a regular. Pros include the spaciousness, real grass, bench seating, mature trees providing shade, trash bins inside the park area including poop scoopers, and a water fountain/bowl. When I went the water fountain wasn't working. I did some research beforehand. (Google Maps calls this the Piedmont Road Dog Park. I don't know if that's the official name.) They don't have poop bags either. I think these drawbacks will likely be remedied in the future. I've seen at other dog parks the community members step up and install back up poop bags or bring in stainless steel troughs for the water. In the meantime, bring your own bags and water! The one thing I really did not like was the parking situation. Piedmont seems very busy. There isn't a parking lot to pull into. I drove past the park initially. It's street parking on Piedmont with some areas of the curb being red or green. The solution would be for someone to park in a lot inside the park (another entrance) and to walk to the dog parks. There's also a shopping plaza across the street and residential streets nearby if you don't mind crossing the street. The real grass and mature trees/shade are really rare for a dog park! I could see this place being five stars for someone that lives in the area and is more experienced with the parking situation than me.

They have artifice grass, dog water fountains, and benches for the humans. It gets popular on the weekend mornings. There's a corgi South Bay meet up every Sunday. I try to bring my corgi here a few times to socialize. She still prefer to get pets from human strangers by the benches than to play with canine buddies. It's ok if your dog is shy or not into dog parks; I don't want to force it and let her play a bit and take the cue to leave when she doesn't play anymore. some dog just prefer smaller play dates kinda like introverted humans lol. There are kids playground here like a slide, swings, see saw, jungle gym. It's on the newer cleaner side. It's kind of a small park... It's definitely way less than 1 mile circumference so I'd half to walk multiple laps for my dog to get sufficient exercise for us both. I rather not go here for actually waking though and go to a bigger park. This park is mostly for playing/ socializing with the dogs. There a biking path that runs through this park and if you follow it you can pas behind residential areas to the water tower. Parking can be tricky the lot is small and on Sundays there is game practice on the field (soccer). Sometime I find nearby parking by the curb close by.

It seems dog friendly enough with a dog enclosure and easy to stroll around and walk your dog. There's a nice grassy area in the center and I noticed a few instances of owners playing catch with their dogs off-leash. There are picnic tables by the playground and public bathrooms all in the same area. The only water fountain I found was by the picnic/playground/bathroom area and it had a lower fountain for dogs. **Dog park: The dog area was really small, all dirt with one bench. Big dog and small dog are separated but the size is pretty similar to each other with the big dog having just a LITTLE bit more space. It was empty for me except for 1 dog owner but I wonder if there would be more dogs after-work hours for some socialization :-) you would have to walk a little but further down to the main area for water fountain.

We wanted to find a park that is relatively new/in good condition and not too crowded to let the little ones safely play. I'm honestly surprised that this isn't a more popular place to bring your kids. I suppose a part of it is because it is a neighborhood park without dedicated parking, although there is plenty of street parking. With that being said, the play area is gated so it is safe to let your children roam with supervision, the play structures are all in very good condition and the padded flooring is intact across the park. Very suitable for toddlers and older children, they even have a baby changing station inside of the bathroom, as well as adequate drinking fountains and drinking fountains for dogs. We were there on a Saturday morning, from 9 to 10am and were the only family there the entire time. This is completely different compared to some of the other parks in Sunnyvale or San Jose, where it can become a zoo by that time. We will definitely be setting up future play dates here.

I came by during Viva CalleSJ this past weekend so there were a bunch of porta potties too, as well as food trucks and vendor tents set up. I picnicked under the trees, enjoying some good eats from Shrimp'n Aint Eazy while listening to live music by the San Jose Jazz Collective on a breezy Sunday afternoon. Nothing really notable about the scenery here, but it's a nice enough park and a lovely setting for events like this.

Busy times may not be ideal for puppies…read more I normally really like this dog park, but after what happened this morning, I feel it's important to warn other puppy owners to be cautious about coming during very busy times. I brought my 5 month old Siberian Husky, Leo, as I normally do. He is extremely energetic, agile, and loves playing with other dogs. However, this morning the park was packed with a lot of much older, larger dogs, and two dogs in particular, an older black German Shepherd and a Doberman or Rottweiler type dog repeatedly ganged up on him. What really upset me was that the situation escalated to the point where both dogs sandwiched Leo and knocked him down and were on top of him, and the German Shepherd grabbed onto his neck and would not let go. Leo is normally very quick and capable of getting himself out of situations, but this time he didn't even get back up. I had to physically intervene and push the dogs off him and then the owner came up to see what had happened. Gee you're a little late! I then removed Leo and gave him some time to calm down before allowing him back around the other dogs. Then owner eventually approached me again, I could tell she was trying to get a rise out of me. She asked if I didn't want the dogs to play???? I explained that what I had just witnessed was not appropriate play and that there is a threshold where play becomes too rough and potentially dangerous. Her response was essentially that "that's how they play." She also described her 1.5 year old dog as a puppy, which is very different from my 5 month old puppy who is fairly new to dog parks in terms of size, age, and ability to handle an interaction with significantly older dogs. My biggest concern isn't that dogs were playing. Because I've brought him there several other times and Leo played just fine with the larger dogs. It's these specific two dogs that kept approaching him, even after I kept separating him from them. It's that the interaction was allowed to escalate without the owner stepping in. In fact, the owner was so busy talking to the other dogs, owner and gossiping that she wasn't even paying attention to how poorly her dog acts. If I hadn't been standing right there watching, Leo could have been seriously injured and I may have ended up needing to take him to the vet. I'm not saying people shouldn't bring their dogs here. I just want other dog owners to be aware that certain times of day can become extremely busy with larger and older dogs, and not every dog will have appropriate play manners. If you're bringing a young puppy, I'd strongly recommend choosing a quieter time when you can better control the environment and monitor interactions. Also, there were plenty of other dogs off leash outside of the dog park as well so when I tried to walk him on leash outside of the park, other unsupervised dogs who kept running up to him and jumping on him with more owners completely unaware of what's going on which is totally not OK. Please watch your puppies closely. Not every interaction that an owner considers "playing" is safe or appropriate for every dog.

One side of the trail has plenty of trees, while the other side is more exposed to the sun. It wasn't overly crowded, even on a weekend. I suspect that's because parking costs $6 and there is no street parking available. Unlike many parks where you can park nearby and walk in for free. I visited on a summer day when temperatures were around 90°F. It was quite hot, with little to no breeze. We stayed until sunset, the lake reflected the evening colors, it's beautiful.
