And, if you are a owner/landlord and actually care about your property, I would strongly advise against using their property management company. As owners of a house in the area, we sought a property management for our house that we were already leasing to tenants. At first I liked Kerry's forthright and stern approach when talking to her but, once we signed on to use their company, she became so awful to us. The way she would communicate with us (email and phone) was flat out rude. Interestingly enough, the person who I had the most communication with was young Sarah. She was the opposite of Kerry: kind, friendly and tried to be as helpful as possible. Perhaps she should run the company? My biggest complaint with Kerry? Over the holidays, our tenant has complained that our nice/new bamboo floor was peaking/buckling. An appropriate response would be to send a plumber to check for leaks, get quotes on repair, get the owners aware and involved. No. Kerry actually was hardly aware of us having MAJOR floor problems until the tenants moved out. Then she was full of ideas (see photo of screen shot). The "floor guy" they sent out didn't know what was causing the peaking (guessed install) and, after that, he stopped working for Mahoney. They never bothered to follow up with anyone else or a plumber. Bottom line, we paid them a lot of money every month to watch out for our property and they absolutely did not do that. I'm not saying our floor problem was directly Kerry's or the company's fault but she sure didn't care what was going on over in our house. We were over 400 miles away and we paid them to watch over our house and we strongly feel that was not on Kerry's agenda. Oh, and walk through and reviewing the property upon the tenant's vacating? Forget it, not Kerry's problem! Kerry, after a year, I see that you just commented on my review. I'm sure my review of your business, in a public forum, was disheartening as YELP was not a thing in the 80s, 90s, etc. and you could run your business without such bad publicity. As all my reviews are, this review was honest and based on MY experience. You knew what you were getting into and gladly accepted a generous portion of rent every month to manage our property. Our tenants continued to contact us and even complained about you to us. Your communication with us was rude and abrupt. You wouldn't even conduct a walk through at the end after all the money you took from us. The floor debacle (lack of attention devoted to it) was the last straw for us. I hope that you turned our experience with you into an invaluable learning experience. Good luck.

I had a horrific experience with Marshall & Co…read more Property Management (specifically working with Sarah Jainchill and Dakota from Laguna Vista Apartments in Tiburon) that felt discriminatory from the very beginning. When I initially inquired about an apartment, Sarah wouldn't even let me fill out an application the moment I mentioned I had a Section 8 voucher. They only came back to me after their other applicants backed down. After waiting an entire month to move in with my family, I arrived at the move in inspection to a complete nightmare. The listing explicitly promised "New beige waffle weave carpet to be installed in all bedrooms" and "luxury vinyl flooring." In one bedroom, management left sharp debris and trash all over the floor from a recent window or paint repair, completely unvacuumed. Dakota explicitly lied to my face, claiming the new carpets were to be taken care of by move in date, only to later shift the blame entirely onto Sarah. The bedroom carpets were never replaced. Instead, the apartment was delivered completely filthy and in the exact same neglected state as when I first viewed it. the appliances in the unit are severely neglected and broken and need replacement. The kickplate at the bottom of the dishwasher was broken and poorly masked with a large piece of red tape. It completely fell apart upon inspection and requires full replacement. Stove and oven was heavily rusted, caked in thick, old grease, and still contained dirty aluminum foil left behind by the previous tenant. The paint was peeling off the range hood from age and severe grease buildup, posing a fire and another health hazard. I noticed a thick, unsanitary buildup of dust and filth along the sides of the refrigerator. Furthermore, the unit had a cracked toilet seat covered in urine, a broken front door sweeper, broken thermostat, severe mirror rot, and cracked, lifting bathroom flooring. Most alarming of all, there was severe black water damage and suspected mold under the kitchen sink, a major health hazard for my kids. The place seemed as if it had not been cleaned in years!!! When I pointed these out, Dakota dismissed these health and safety issues as "cosmetic or minor maintenance matters." I even offered my own time to clean the unit a day early, but they refused to give me the keys for "liability purposes," yet expected my family to move into a filthy construction zone and live out of boxes until they could finally schedule carpet installers days later. Management showed zero empathy, never apologized, and tried to push me to sign the inspection sheet just to get the keys. Fortunately, I stood my ground, refused to sign, and immediately contacted the MHA, who backed me up completely to cancel the contract. Please beware of Marshall & Co. They misrepresented the property, lied about updates, and tried to force a family into a sub standard, unsafe apartment!
