They offered to refine their estimate with a visit. In the end, their rough estimate was quite close. I found Bill to be honest and reliable. I found the crew to be hard working and polite. They sorted the junk carefully into salvage, e waste, haz mat and junk. They found several things I wanted to keep even though I told them the keepsakes had already been removed. Good people doing good (and unglorified) work. Needed some old pieces of furniture plus random construction debris found in the garage from previous owners. Contacted through Yelp and sent pictures via text, quick and easy scheduling. The day before they changed the time from the morning to 4-6pm due to needing more time with the furniture. Wasn't a huge issue in covid times. At 5:45pm I get a call saying they're on the way, then 10 min later a call asking if I'd be open to rescheduling to Thursday morning because the crew hauled a lot of trash in the day and is tired. I get it, things happen, and I was able to reschedule to Thursday (with a minor credit) without too much inconvenience. Could see it being an issue in non covid times if you don't have a flexible job. As it is I had blocked work calendars for appointment slots but it worked out. Two men arrived on time on Thursday and got the load (1/2 truck by their measurements) off in 15 minutes. I think it should have been closer to 1/4 truck based on prior experience with another junk removal service and just the volume...but it was cold in the morning and I didn't feel like arguing. Payment was easy via check. Also no masks - I wasn't too bothered since all my trash was in the garage or outside and I stayed very far away with my own mask on, but could be a concern for some if your trash is indoors. read more

I asked how much it would be just to haul one of the piles of junk we had and, instead of answering the only question I was able to ask, he replied,"What's your budget". What?!? This guy obviously has an uncanny knack for presenting a bill for exactly all of the money you can spend. That's not the worst part... when I answered him with a price that was closer to reality, he didn't even respond. Nothing. Then I sent a message stating that his original quote was fine. It took less than a minute to get a reply. Choose whomever you like if you need junk removal. I'm a bit late to reviewing Larry the Rubbish Man, but I was reminded of them when a friend recently asked me who I used early last year to get odds and ends removed. No better time to review them! Honestly, this company was by far the cheapest of all the people I got quotes from in my area. I was moving from a large apartment and had essentially a full bedrooms worth of stuff to haul away. Some of the quotes I was getting were crazy and had me contemplating just handling the mess myself. Larry's was insanely reasonable and they were by far the best communication wise. The 2 people that came were very nice and didn't ask me to do anything. I thought maybe I'd have to lend a hand being on the 4th floor with a rather tricky elevator to get to, but they took on the stairs without complaining. All this while it was somewhat raining outside. We did have some issues with timeliness as far as arrival to start the haul away, but there's no need to knock a star. There aren't enough positive adjectives to describe my interaction with "Larry the Rubbish Man," the owner Bill and his amazing team. I knew that I was handing them a crappy job...we started cleaning out the garage, placing the trash on the side of the house, then the rains came, and the A/C unit started draining into the pile. Simply put, it was a mess. But the guys weren't put off, came in, tore through the mess (including the boxes with disintegrated bottoms), cleaned up all of the residual mess and got out in no time.
