Larry's is an original style barber shop located conveniently on the NW corner of Lake and Ridge in Wilmette. Plenty of parking next to a grocery store or park in the back of the building with rear entrance into the shop. Walk in and immediately greeted by the owner who was super friendly and extremely courteous and polite. I got my haircut done by Mary and it was the first time in a very long time that I had my hair cut done exactly the way I wanted it done. I paid $18 and left a $7 tip. It's never been about the cost, it's about getting your hair cut correctly and this place is employed by professionals of their craft who know what they're doing. I've been going to place such as Hair Cuttery and Great Clips for years....I miss true barber shops and I will be coming here from now on. read more

Went to Larry's recently. The person there was definitely not the one in the pictures. He butchered my hair. I had at least three holes in my hair (places where there are divots-which were not replaced as they would be on a golf course). I went to my daughter's hairdresser in Atlanta today and he did all he could to repair the damage. He said about my previous cut, "I'm embarrassed for my profession." read more

My husband went here based on the five star reviews. He's got the worst haircut in years. She did not really look at the picture he showed her,didn't listen at all, and now looks ridiculous instead of corporate. Top too long sides way too short and cut way, way too high- an inch above his temple. It's sort of a bad hipster haircut. Nothing can be done to fix this except waiting for it to grow out. I could (and did during covid) have done much better than this! Cannot recommend this place, sorry (but not sorry). read more

I've been getting my hair cut here consistently since I moved to the community about 5 years ago. They give a great, consistent cut at a reasonable price. The owner is really friendly, but mostly it is a pretty quiet place. Typically I'm able to get in right away or after only a short wait, without calling ahead. read more
